Chapter 947 It's Your Child
Olivia was in shock, her face pale as if she couldn't process what Winnie was saying.
Jeremy's usually composed face went blank; even Louis was left speechless in front of Winnie.
Everyone held their breath, and after a moment of dead silence and shock...
Olivia looked up, her eyes wide with disbelief, and tears suddenly welled up. Her fingers trembled violently, and she had to clench her fists to force out her words. "Winnie... what are you talking about?"
"What are you saying? Mia, she... she's my..." Jeremy was so shocked he couldn't finish his sentence.
"She's your daughter," Winnie repeated, emphasizing each word, directing it at both Jeremy and the furious Louis.
Both of them were stunned into silence.
Jeremy, who was usually unflappable, suddenly found it hard to breathe, feeling a rush of blood in reverse through his veins...
He belatedly recalled something Winnie had said in the church: Mia and Sam's paternity test was fake!
He had doubts back then, so why didn't he pay attention?
Now Winnie was saying Mia was his child... his biological daughter.
All the blood rushed to his head, and Jeremy's eyes turned red with excitement. He strode towards Winnie, pushing aside the men in black who were aiming their guns at Olivia. He used his palm to shield her from danger, his gaze locked on Winnie, desperate to know if this was true.
"Winnie, don't lie to me." His voice was filled with sorrow. He had imagined countless times that Mia was his child, and if that were true, he would have been with Olivia all along, not wasting those three years with Lynn!
"You say she's my child... why? Give me a definite answer!"
"Because you're both idiots! Neither of you questioned what happened three years ago, and you have zero memory of it!" Winnie glared at Jeremy angrily. "Especially you. Who did you think you were with that night at the club? You couldn't even figure that out!"
"I... I clearly remember waking up to find Lynn lying naked beside me, crying pitifully. There were bloodstains on the bed. I was drugged and groggy, only seeing the bruises on her body. She cried and begged me to take responsibility, and given the situation, I had no choice but to agree to all her demands." Jeremy stammered, recalling the chaotic morning.
Damn it, if he had noticed even a hint of Olivia's presence, he wouldn't have mistaken Lynn for her and treated that disgusting woman as his savior.
"Olivia... was it you that night?" Jeremy clenched his fists, slowly turning to look at the pale and battered Olivia.
God, what had they missed?
"It was you! I'm such a fool, so stupid, not remembering a single detail about you, not remembering what happened that night, not even your scent." Jeremy retreated like a wounded child.
Winnie shook her head, sighing with both frustration and disgust. "Maybe it was fate playing tricks on you! But I believe Lynn orchestrated that night! She was probably tipped off by Darcy, then she rushed there and took advantage of the situation!"
"The truth is, after Darcy drugged and threw Olivia into that club, she escaped, avoiding the men who wanted to assault her, and ran into the place where you were, Jeremy. You were also set up, and in your confusion, she became your antidote!"
"Later that night, Lynn arrived, secretly moved Olivia away, and maybe she called Sam on purpose. Wasn't Sam drunk at the time? He locked you two in a room, and Lynn pretended to be Olivia, faking a relationship with you. That's the truth."
"Otherwise, Jeremy, tell me, did you ever feel anything for Lynn in those three years? Any attachment from that night?"
Jeremy covered his handsome, heavy face, realizing he had been insensitive and slow to react to matters of the heart. "Now I understand why I was so repulsed by her. In those three years, I couldn't even hold her hand. I hated her getting close to me, and meeting her was just me forcing myself to take responsibility."
