Chapter 751 Rock Takes Action Against Carlos

Mars sped back home, his mind racing.

The moment he walked in, he was met with Ronnie's scowl. "Mars, what the hell happened with that explosion at the King Family's place tonight?" Ronnie demanded.

"It was me," Mars admitted, launching into the whole story.

Ronnie's face twisted with anger. "You idiot! Who the hell do you think you are, causing trouble at Adam's house? I've told you a million times, we need to get on Adam's good side, and now you've ruined everything!"

"Ronnie, lay off Mars!" Hellen rushed over, shielding Mars.

Ronnie shot her a cold look. "This is your fault for coddling him. Not only am I going to scold him, but I'm also going to knock some sense into him! Mars, you were trained by Bob. Now that you're the top dog in Veridiania, have you gotten so cocky that you've lost your mind? If you wanted Lawrence dead, there were plenty of other times to do it. Why tonight at the King Family's place? You're driving me nuts. Do you think the Harper Family and the King Family won't look into this?"

Mars clenched his fists, his face darkening. "It was that idiot Rock who pushed me. He said the greenhouse explosion would be no big deal. I waited until everyone left. How was I supposed to know Angelina would run in there?"

Hellen glanced at Ronnie's icy expression, knowing this was serious.

She spoke softly, "Ronnie, please stop yelling at Mars. He was just worried that Adam might have ulterior motives when he asked about Lawrence tonight. Now that Angelina almost got hurt, I've heard the Harper Family and the King Family are already investigating. They'll definitely trace it back to Mars. I know you're disappointed in him, but he's the heir of the Peterson Family. If they trace it back to him, the whole family is at risk."

Ronnie glared at her. "Do you think if they don't trace it back to him, the Harper Family and the King Family won't suspect us? At the banquet, we targeted Lawrence. Everyone saw it. Now something happens to him… they'll put two and two together."

Mars started to panic. "What do we do now?"

Ronnie thought for a moment, then clenched his fist. "We have to push Phoebe out."

Hellen's eyes widened. Phoebe was Ronnie's own niece.

She shivered as Ronnie continued, "And then bring Timothy into this. Say Phoebe and Timothy are a couple. Everyone saw the conflict between Lawrence and Phoebe, right? Timothy wanted revenge and set up the explosion. This way, he has a motive."

Mars's eyes lit up. "We don't have to worry about the Hayes Family. But will Phoebe and Timothy go along with it? We were the ones who got Phoebe to frame Lawrence tonight."

Ronnie's voice was cold. "Phoebe's father relies on me. He'll persuade her."

Hellen swallowed nervously. "Even if we sacrifice Phoebe, Timothy won't agree, right? The Hayes Family doesn't want to piss off the King Family and the Harper Family."

"For a family like the Hayes, finding some dirt on them is easy," Ronnie said coldly, and Mars quickly nodded.

Ronnie looked at him with disappointment. "Don't think this is over. Even if we pin it all on Phoebe and Timothy, the Harper Family and the King Family aren't fools. They'll still suspect us."

"So, what do we do now?" Mars asked, frowning.

"Bribe them," Ronnie said, taking a drag from his cigarette. "Mr. Harper's got a year left as Secretary of the Treasury before he moves up to Vice President. He's getting harder to bribe, but he loves money. We'll start with him. As for Adam, we don't know his preferences yet, so tread carefully. As long as Samuel doesn't push the issue with Angelina, we'll be fine."

"I get it, Ronnie. I'm sorry," Mars said, lowering his head, trying to sound apologetic.

Ronnie's gaze was icy. "Next time, think before you act. If you screw up, fine. But don't take the Peterson family down with you. We've worked too damn hard! Lawrence is practically a ghost; you think some half-baked plan will take him down? Think again."

Mars looked embarrassed, his fists clenched tightly. He hated Lawrence even more now.

After Ronnie left, Hellen quickly tried to comfort Mars. "Mars, Ronnie was just mad. Don't overthink it! He still loves you and wants you to be the heir."

Mars looked at her coldly. "Hellen, do you really not know about Ronnie and his secretary? When the Peterson Family was still climbing, he needed us to use the Rodriguezes. Now that we're on top, he doesn't care about you as much. We should be cautious. You and Ronnie don't have a son. Who knows if he'll have a kid with his secretary."

Hellen was shocked. Since her divorce from Bob, Ronnie had treated her well but wasn't as attentive as before. But Mars was his biological son; he wouldn't have other intentions, right? She had helped him achieve success after thirty years of patience; she was the biggest contributor.

Hellen gripped Mars's hands tightly and revealed the truth. "Mars, there's something I've never told you. You're not only my biological son, but you're Ronnie's, too. Don't worry, if Ronnie dares to have another child, we won't let him get away with it."

"What?" Mars stared blankly. He only knew he was definitely Hellen's biological son. Otherwise, Hellen wouldn't have schemed so much for him in the Rodriguez Family. He didn't expect he was actually Ronnie and Hellen's son. He was the legitimate young master of the Peterson Family. A cold glint flashed in Mars's eyes.

After leaving Camellia Mount, Rock didn't go back but headed to Carlos's hospital.

Under a hidden tree at the hospital entrance, Michelle hurriedly appeared and handed him a pill from her pocket. Rock squinted, took it, and waved her away. Michelle retreated.

Carlos's hospital room door opened, and Rock's tall figure appeared with a warm smile. "Dad! I'm here to see you!"

Carlos had regained some of his senses in the past few days and could roughly recognize people by their voices. The nurse was about to give him medicine, looked up, and recognized Rock. "Mr. Blanchet, this is Ms. Blanchet's husband, Rock."

Carlos nodded with difficulty. These days, Winnie had visited him and told him she had married Rock. He had been bedridden for over four months and hadn't been involved in Winnie's marriage. Carlos touched the bedside. "Rock, come and sit."

Rock squinted, seeing that Carlos's vision was still unclear. He fiddled with the pill Michelle had given him.
