Chapter 787 Winnie Took the Children Away
Winnie said, "Then you two can argue all you want. I'm not giving the kids to either of you; I'll take them myself!"
Winnie felt extremely embarrassed under the gaze of the other parents. She took the two children by the hand, turned to the teacher, and sincerely apologized, "I'm sorry, teacher. There was a bit of an incident today, and it caused a misunderstanding."
"From now on, besides me and my nanny, please don't allow anyone else to pick up the children. Thank you for your trouble. The kids will be back to school next week."
"Alright, that's fine." The teacher realized that this family's relationships were quite complicated, but seeing the three luxury cars, she knew they were wealthy and naturally wouldn't make things difficult for them.
Winnie had Lysander carry the two children into the car, and she left first.
"Winnie!" Rock had intended to take Oscar away to force Winnie to show up and persuade her to come back home. Seeing this, he immediately chased after her.
"Winnie." Lawrence was not to be outdone.
But his sharp gaze focused on the mask Winnie had been wearing the whole time. He suddenly frowned and asked, "Winnie, why are you wearing a mask?"
Winnie's action of closing the car door paused.
Rock's expression immediately stiffened.
"I just have a cold. Both of you, don't follow us. The kids need to calm down; don't make them more upset!" She got into the car, and Lysander quickly drove away.
As soon as Winnie left, Lawrence didn't even look at Rock and turned to get into his car.
Rock, furious, walked over and grabbed Lawrence's shirt, coldly warning, "Lawrence, stay away from Winnie! Otherwise, I'll make sure you and your family are dead, and I can even make the Rodriguez Group disappear with a snap of my fingers."
Lawrence's cold eyebrows furrowed slightly, and his eyes suddenly gleamed with a sharp, icy light. "Rock, you finally can't keep up the act, huh? Throwing threats now?"
"Try me!" Rock gritted his teeth. When it was just the two of them, he wished he could tear Lawrence apart. "Back then, you used my company to threaten me, almost making it impossible for me to survive in Trento City."
"Now it's your turn, Lawrence. Understand your current fallen status and don't dream of opposing me! The Harrington Group is not something you can contend with."
He stared at Lawrence with a sinister and arrogant look. He had long wanted to kill Lawrence, but Lawrence was always so lucky.
He also hated that after last night's fallout with Winnie, he didn't want to hold back anymore.
"Then let's see." Lawrence sneered indifferently, his coldness piercing, "But let me remind you, Winnie hasn't liked you after all these years of your pursuit, which means two things: you're pathetic, and you really have no appeal to her. In other words, she will never like you in this lifetime. Don't force what doesn't belong to you. After experiencing the mountains, who would look up to the plains?"
He sarcastically opened the car door and stepped in with his long legs.
Rock's face turned livid with rage, feeling humiliated. He retorted, "So what? Lawrence, at least I can bring her pleasure. Can you, a man who has lost his sexual function?"
After saying that, he saw Lawrence's cold face change drastically, and only then did he turn away with satisfaction.
Lawrence watched his back, his whole body stiff, fists clenched.
After a while, he took out his phone and stopped the recording, his eyes filled with coldness. Rock had finally admitted to sending people to attack him at the police station. He would definitely retaliate for this.
Winnie took the two children back to Dazzling Estate, Elliott's villa.
Sidney, being forgetful, cried for a while but quickly cheered up and chatted happily with Elliott during dinner.
As for Oscar, he still seemed troubled, staring out the window in deep thought.
"Oscar, don't be sad." Winnie gently blinked at him and sighed, "Don't take Rock's words to heart. You're just a child; you don't need to be burdened by moral dilemmas. You should be with whoever you feel close to, follow your heart. You don't need to carry the grievances from my past."
"I know. But Mommy, Rock was partly right. Lawrence did do a lot of wrong things to you, and I was confused in just a few days, charmed by his gentleness. I even thought he was amazing for being dedicated to his work, playing basketball, soccer, football, and making breakfast for Sidney and me. I feel a bit ashamed of myself for forgiving him so easily. I shouldn't get caught up in these days of joy. "
"Silly boy, Mommy told you, adult matters shouldn't be your burden. He was largely responsible for the accident back then, but he didn't intend to harm you."
Winnie recalled sadly, "It was all Darcy's plan, and he was deceived. I admit he deserved it, but I hurt his heart first, and he no longer trusted me. At that time, I could feel that he really liked you two unborn children; he just couldn't accept me."
"All of that is in the past. No matter what happens between him and me, you can see that he still cares for you and Sidney. Mommy doesn't want you to live in hatred. If anyone should hate him, let it be me. You just need to grow up carefree."
"Yeah! Mommy is right!" Sidney ran over and nodded immediately, "Oscar, you're just overthinking."
Oscar rolled his eyes at him, "Don't you think you're betraying Mommy more and more lately? Sidney, you're just enjoying life with the Rodriguez Family."
Sidney awkwardly pursed his lips. Come on, adults made choices. Kids wanted everything—both parents and grandparents. Was that wrong?
"No, Oscar, you're just too stubborn." Sidney clung to Winnie's arm and said, "Listen to my analysis. What's wrong with having an extra dad? He can buy us toys, pay for school, and act like a nanny cooking for us every day."
"You've been with Mommy since you were little; you should know taking care of kids is tiring. We should let him take care of us more so Mommy can focus on her career and make lots of money."
"And last time, I watched the news with Great-grandma. The news said that if Daddy doesn't support us now, we still have to take care of him when he's old because of our blood relationship. So why let Daddy off the hook now?"
Oscar was speechless, thinking Sidney's words actually made some sense.
Winnie was also speechless, "Sidney, why are you watching that kind of news with your great-grandma?"
"Great-grandma likes watching those things."
Winnie seriously suspected Leah did it on purpose, watching those things with Sidney.
