Chapter 767 Rock and Sierra Have a Flirtation
Lawrence's hoarse voice turned cold, "After this incident, don't tell me you haven't changed your opinion about Rock? Winnie, you're not a fool. On the contrary, you're very perceptive. Didn't you look into Sierra?"
Winnie clenched her hand. She wanted to investigate, but doing so would alert Rock, so she was thinking of a way to learn about Rock indirectly.
Lawrence squinted at her and said, "Haven't you suspected that there might be an improper relationship between Sierra and Rock?"
Winnie was stunned.
Did he mean that Sierra and Rock might have something going on?
Her mind froze. Sierra's previous behavior had made her a bit suspicious, but she didn't think Rock was that kind of unfaithful person, so she hadn't thought in that direction.
"Why do you say that?" Winnie asked.
Lawrence grabbed her hand and sneered, "I looked into it for you. Sierra has been in Trento City for less than two months and has already bought property and a car. Where does a female secretary get that kind of money? It's obviously from her lover. I found out that the car she had the accident in was actually gifted by Rock, officially under the guise of a reward from the Harrington Group."
Winnie felt a chill, instantly recalling what Ulysses had told her yesterday—that Sierra didn't have the money to buy property or a car.
As for why Rock would gift Sierra a car, the answer was suggestive.
Moreover, if this car was really a gift from Rock, then the brake failure was likely related to him.
"Rock gave her the car, Sierra drove it from the Harrington Group to find you, and she was suddenly burned to death on the way. Winnie, who do you think is most likely to have tampered with her car?" Lawrence asked sharply.
Winnie's body stiffened, "Sierra was coming from the Harrington Group to find me?"
"Yes."
Her mind shivered instantly.
Her face turned pale.
Lawrence tightened his grip on her wrist and said coldly, "Rock is hiding too much, Winnie. You haven't seen through him yet. I'm worried that if you stay there, it will be dangerous. You need to divorce him immediately!"
Winnie and Rock had a falling out, and she almost brought up divorce.
Rock's pained expression had stopped her.
However, whether or not to divorce was not something Lawrence could decide.
Instinctively, she didn't want to show her unhappy marriage in front of Lawrence. Winnie bit her lip and broke free from his grip, "Even if, as you say, Sierra and Rock have an improper relationship and the car was a gift from Rock, I will investigate these things myself. My marriage is none of your business. Don't use these incidents to keep pushing me to divorce; it won't benefit you. Because for the rest of my life, I won't have anything to do with you."
Lawrence's deep eyes darkened. How deeply had he hurt her back then, that she wouldn't give him another chance for the rest of her life?
The most urgent thing now was to get her away from Rock.
However, without concrete evidence, Winnie wouldn't be easily swayed. Like a lost person, she would stick to the path she chose, no matter how difficult.
"Winnie, even if you divorce him, I won't mock you or feel triumphant, thinking I have another chance. I'm genuinely worried about you," Lawrence said, his eyes deep and serious.
Winnie bit her lip, her heart trembling with complexity.
She somewhat understood now. Olivia had said that even though Lawrence was bad, he was always unreserved towards her. His actions were bad, but his heart was in the right place for her.
But Rock probably really had something going on with Sierra.
Winnie never thought he would be unfaithful to their marriage. After all, he always said he loved her deeply and was willing to wait for her for as long as it took.
On the other hand, men had physical needs. Rock had repeatedly sought her love but failed. Did he not need to satisfy his physical needs?
Her heart trembled violently.
Winnie gritted her teeth and clenched her hand, "Stop talking. I will be careful, and I will handle this myself."
She looked into Lawrence's deep eyes and said, "I just moved to Rock's place, and it's a bit chaotic. I feel bad letting Elliott take care of the kids for too long. Since you're their dad, if the Rodriguez Family welcomes them, I think they can stay there for a few days. If it's inconvenient, I'll take them back to Dazzling Estate."
Lawrence was more than willing. As long as the kids were with him, she would have an unbreakable connection with him.
His sharp eyes softened, and he sighed in relief, "You're still not at ease with Rock, are you? Rest assured, leave the kids with me, but be extra careful yourself. If you need to investigate anything, let me help."
"If I need it, I'll let you know," Winnie said, her mind in turmoil. She had to figure out the connection between Sierra's death and Olivia's disappearance.
Unexpectedly, she got another shocking clue from Lawrence.
Sierra and Rock might have a relationship.
Maybe there were sides of Rock she had never seen.
Winnie's heart felt cold.
She was lost in thought when Lawrence picked her up horizontally.
"Hey, what are you doing?" She quickly pushed him away.
She forgot he wasn't wearing a shirt, and his bare muscles were hard and strong.
Her fingertips were quickly scorched.
"How does it feel?" Lawrence winked playfully, then explained, "You're going to freeze standing here. The kids have played enough; let's get out and change."
Winnie had longed to leave this ambiguous place.
Once ashore, she immediately broke free from Lawrence's embrace.
Unexpectedly, her waist was grabbed again, and a towel was draped over her head. Lawrence wrapped his arms around her from behind and said in a low, rich voice, "Don't move, let me dry you off."
"I'm going to shower anyway," Winnie refused irritably.
"Be good. If you don't dry off, you'll catch a cold."
He coaxed her gently, just like he did with the kids.
Winnie's ears trembled. Worried that if she resisted further, he would force her, she stood there speechlessly, letting his large hands dry her through the towel.
Then she quickly grabbed Sidney and slipped away.
Lawrence smiled at her shy retreat and was about to tidy up when he turned and saw Oscar's meaningful eyes.
"Do you still want to reconcile with Mommy?" Oscar's eyes were cold and rational, "I advise you to give up. Your attitude indeed has been good these days, not like you're pretending. But Mommy is already married to Rock. Sidney and I care most about her happiness. In other words, as long as she's willing, we respect her being with Rock. I won't support you."
"Oscar," Lawrence wasn't discouraged by Oscar's coldness, "Let me tell you, one should never give up easily, especially on what or who they love."
Oscar couldn't help but roll his eyes, "That's being clingy."
