Chapter 91 Winnie's Uncle

The next day, Winnie went to Triton to hold a shareholders' meeting.

Ava was absent and at the same time, rumor has spread like wildfire throughout the company that she had been inexplicably beaten which has left her suffering with three broken ribs and a broken leg.

Winnie pursed her lips lightly, knowing that this was Mr. L's doing.

Her heart swelled with relief as she acknowledged that the man had stood up in her defense. In the shareholders' meeting, Winnie systematically marginalized Ava, eliminating her influence entirely. With the company grappling with the significant issue of procuring counterfeit raw stones, an internal restructuring was urgently needed.

Winnie held a lengthy meeting and formulated new regulations from top to bottom. The company would gradually undergo a personnel shuffle under Winnie's strict control. Shareholders dare not have any objections to Winnie's decisive and vigorous actions.

After all, Winnie's abilities were there for all to see.

"Next, I will personally handle the purchase of raw materials. The entire procurement department will be replaced and I will lead the team. Does anyone have any objections?" Winnie explained with pure determination evident in her face.

It was widely recognized that raw stones held utmost importance in a jewelry company. If the quality of the raw stones fell short, not even the finest design and craftsmanship could salvage the company's reputation.

Shareholders agreed, one after another, to let her take charge of the procurement department.

Winnie smiled. "Meeting adjourned."

Upon receiving the news, Ava was furious, yet she found herself incapacitated in the hospital, unable to move. Her nose had bruises, her face was swollen, one tooth was broken, and she experienced excruciating pain throughout her body.

She cried out to Sophia. "Mom, how dare she sideline me while I'm beaten to near death? Why doesn't that despicable woman go to jail? Shouldn't we go find Darcy?"

"Who do you think beat you? It was Mr. L who vented his anger through Winnie," Sophia said sternly.

"We are the ones doing things for Darcy and if anything happens, we're the ones taking the blame. She has nothing to worry about. We can't threaten her either. We still need her to save us for the jewelry competition."

Only now did Ava understand the cruel nature of the woman they had fallen into the hands of. She felt a chilling coldness throughout her body.

Sophia was in anguish. They were completely at the mercy of others now, and her days were not getting any easier either.

Through strong resentment, she clenched her teeth and uttered, "That woman, your grandmother had the audacity to bring her illegitimate child back into the Anderson family. She persistently goes against me at every opportunity. Just wait, I won't let them escape without consequences."

Winnie received a call and left the Triton building.

In the cafe across the street, Madam Anderson sat patiently awaiting Winnie’s arrival.

Winnie was somewhat taken aback that Madam Anderson sought her out, but she approached nonetheless. Madam Anderson addressed her, saying, "I appreciate your suggestion. I decided to bring my grandson back to the Anderson family. You were correct the other day. Sophia, that woman, took advantage of your father's position because she had support. She orchestrated an attack on your brother. Bringing the child back might stir up trouble for her."

Once Sophia and her daughter were compelled to hasten, there was a possibility that they would reach out to their supporter and disclose their location. Additionally, Madam Anderson resided in the Anderson family estate and could potentially have acquired information about the mountains.

"Grandma, did Sophia's backer make an appearance at home?"

"No, Sophia is very cautious, but if you help me, I'll keep an eye on it for you."

Madam Anderson responded, her gaze focused on Winnie. Winnie bore a striking resemblance to her mother and had grown into a stunning individual. She had matured and no longer retained the naive simplicity she once shared with Sophia. Winnie now harbored a haunting vision, haunted by the deaths of her grandfather and her mother. Despite being just a small part of that ominous force, Matthew couldn't escape its clutches either.

A flicker of fear surged within Madam Anderson, apprehensive about Winnie's knowledge. She cautiously asked, "Winnie, has your uncle reached out to you?"

The sudden inquiry puzzled her. Daniel had mentioned before that the uncle's contact information could be found in the address book. She wondered if her uncle possessed any knowledge about her grandfather and mother.

Winnie frowned and said, "Grandma, do you know why my uncle left home in his early years?"

"I'm not sure. Didn't you contact him? Well, it doesn't matter. I don't have much family left anyway." Madam Anderson appeared at ease, grabbed her bag, and promptly departed.

There was something wrong with her attitude. It probably has to do with the fact that her uncle might know the cause of her mother and grandfather's death.

Winnie mused and walked back to Triton downstairs.

Daniel's Lamborghini stopped, and he came out, a small cake in his hand. He looked gently at Winnie. "I hear you have a shareholders' meeting. I just got back from a business trip, Winnie. Have a taste. This is your favorite chocolate mousse cake. "

Winnie snapped back to reality and initially decided not to engage in conversation with him. However, as a certain thought crossed her mind, she gazed up at him with emotionless eyes. "Daniel, you didn't rescue me that night, so why pretend that you did? Were you aware of the significant misunderstanding it has caused me?"

Upon Daniel's momentary bewilderment, his expression abruptly stiffened, and a fleeting embarrassment crossed his face. "I thought my father went to the Harrington family to intervene."

In reality, he was aware that his father hadn't gone, and his father had rejected his request. Winnie sneered. "You suspected that Mr. L saved me, yet you didn't clarify it in the bathroom. Your tactics are deceitful."

"Winnie, it's all because I love you. I'm afraid of losing you." Daniel anxiously held onto her. "Besides, what can that man do to rescue you? He has no power or authority. Do you trust everything he says?"

"Yes, he is much more powerful than you." Winnie sarcastically brushed him off. "Don't say disgusting things anymore. I've completely cut ties with you. If you insist on staying at Triton, I will eventually regain my shares. Also, my mother's and father's address book, give it to me as soon as possible."

She had to find her uncle.

Daniel frowned. "I won't give you the address book right now." If he gave it to her, he would have no value to her.

"Then I'll find a way to make you give it to me," Winnie replied coldly, turning back toward the company.

Daniel's gaze turned bitter as he pondered that bringing up the address book might have drawn her closer to him. However, she was never one to be easily threatened.

In Imperial Jewelry CEO's office, Darcy took the signed documents and glanced at the handsome man sitting behind the large desk. She playfully raised an eyebrow and said, "Mr. L, you're actually looking at Triton's stocks? You're really treating Ms. Winnie as a treasure, huh? Despite having so many companies' stocks to keep an eye on."

The man's serious expression lifted slightly. Regarding the concept of treasure, that night at the Hot Spring Resort, Winnie had expressed her desire to be his treasure.

A strange tenderness filled his heart as his thin lips curled upwards.

Darcy raised her gaze slightly and changed the topic. "Triton has been taking aggressive actions recently, and the stock prices are rising. Ms. Winnie's methods are quite impressive. I heard that she's planning to purchase a batch of raw stones and is currently looking for suppliers."

Mr. L actually had the intention of supporting her and helping Triton.

"She's preparing for a large shipment?" he asked.

Darcy nodded. "Most likely. Considering the proliferation of counterfeit Triton products in the market, there's an urgent need to retrieve and replace them. Ms. Winnie must be anxious about securing raw materials."

"Are there any top-quality suppliers under Imperial?"

Darcy anticipated this question, smiling as she handed over a document. "I've already handled this for you. These are the top raw stone suppliers in Lymington, currently serving my branch office. The quality is assured. Moreover, both CEOs are women who frequently engage in discussions and collaborations with Ms. Winnie, so you can be rest assured that they are not male."

She blinked, recognizing Mr. L's jealousy.
