Chapter 157 Uncle Kidnaps Her
His palm held the back of her head, wishing he could embed her into his body. If it weren't for the child, he would have pinned her down to drown in passionate entanglement.
Winnie felt his surge and felt heartbroken. Her tears fell onto his face.
Her hands clenched into fists on his chest and neck, and then weakly loosened...
She closed her eyes and mournfully thought in her heart, "Cameron, forgive her. This will be the last time for such betrayal and shamelessness."
"Maybe... maybe he isn't, and all of this is a mistake?"
Soon, a high fever and drunkenness engulfed him, and his kiss also loosened.
Winnie collapsed to the side of the bed, her mind in turmoil. She quickly opened her bag and took out Cameron's address book.
She flipped through it back and forth, trying to figure it out. Suddenly, she noticed torn pages with one that read: Ordelia.
Ordelia... what does it mean?
All the pages after that were torn off.
Assuming Cameron didn't tear them, it was intentionally destroyed by someone. But why were Lawrence R's pages deliberately left intact?
Winnie suddenly remembered the day her uncle said that Cameron used to work in the medical field before coming to Lymington but was unjustly forced out by opponents!
Among the people she knew, there was only Darcy Ordelia... and the Ordelia Family, the Trento City medical family!
Is it really so coincidental? What if Cameron came to Lymington because he was excluded by the Ordelia family?
Winnie's mind went blank. So, is Lawrence R's name in the address book used to confuse people?
She suddenly looked up at the man with a high fever, perhaps it wasn't him at all...
Her heart felt like it was being roasted on hot coals, thumping painfully and excitedly.
"Lawrence R, it's not you, right?" she whispered, tightly gripping the ring in her hand as everything heated up.
Downstairs, Madam Rodriguez sighed with relief when Winnie didn't come down, but she felt a bit dizzy.
Taylor suggested that she should go back to her villa and let the family doctor take care of her.
At that moment, the landline in the villa rang. Taylor picked it up, hesitating as he covered the receiver, "Madam Rodriguez, Darcy wants to visit and spend Christmas together?"
Madam Rodriguez frowned, thinking of that girl, and couldn't help but feel a sense of fear.
With Lawrence and Winnie together now, she shook her head, "Reject her. Just tell her that our family is gathering together."
Taylor answered truthfully.
On the way, the assistant abruptly stopped the car and conveyed Taylor's words with a slightly stiff expression.
Darcy's mood was originally quite good.
On Christmas Eve, Winnie ruined Mr. L's project, so she naturally wouldn't come back.
This was her chance to get closer to Mr. L!
Her face suddenly turned cold, and she clenched her fingers tightly. "What? A family gathering? Winnie couldn't have been called back by Mr. L,"
It must be that old bitch.
She gritted her teeth secretly. Winnie hadn't even returned to Trento City, yet she wanted to spend Christmas with Mr. L.
That old bitch was so protective of Winnie, causing a lot of trouble!
With her interfering, Darcy felt that her path wouldn't go smoothly. She narrowed her eyes coldly.
"Let's go back first! Even if they gather, this will be their last gathering," Darcy said confidently, with a cold smile.
At five o'clock, just before dawn, L opened his eyes.
The high fever hadn't subsided, and combined with his drunkenness, his throat felt like it was being scorched by fire, while his mind was even more chaotic.
In his line of sight, there was a soft figure lying next to his bed, seemingly asleep.
Although the room was kept at a constant temperature, she didn't have a single piece of clothing covering her, and there was their child in her belly.
L frowned, wanting to bring her up into his arms.
As soon as he moved, she woke up.
A slender woman with a cold, jade-like face, looking haggard. But when she saw him, her gaze was dazed and filled with complex emotions.
However, it seemed less indifferent than the previous two days.
"Don't move, you'll lose strength," Winnie said hoarsely in a low voice.
"Have you been crying?" L's voice became extremely hoarse, and indeed, he realized that he had no strength at all.
Winnie's eyes froze, avoiding his gaze, but she caught a glimpse of the snowy scenery outside the window, with a hint of dawn in the darkness.
Her state of mind also trembled slightly, as these few days of hardship seemed to have brought a glimmer of hope amidst their fractured relationship.
Perhaps there was no hatred between them; they still had a future!
Deep in her eyes, tears welled up, ready to burst out.
"You should take your medicine first."
He didn't even have the strength to raise his hand.
Winnie inserted it into his mouth and said softly, "You have a high fever and need to rest. Otherwise, even walking will be a problem. Don't rush to go to the company... about the Kingdom Estates project..."
She hesitated, then apologetically asked, "The five-star hotel project has been forced to stop, and those companies with billions of dollars in financing may cause trouble. What are your plans?"
The man closed his eyes weakly, his feverish face flushed. "It's not a big issue. I have other companies. I'll use the funds to pay the penalty for this breach of contract."
He still had Imperial Jewelry, a globally renowned company even more famous than the Kingdom Estates.
Little did he know that she had already found out.
She guessed that he would do this.
Winnie covered him with a blanket and he mustered the strength to hold her hand. "The big problem is that you want to leave me. Winnie, please put on the ring."
Winnie lowered her head, tears flowing like rain. This time, she reached out and held his burning hand.
In a choked voice, she said, "I won't leave you anymore, look..."
She revealed the diamond ring on her ring finger.
L's pitch-black eyes were slightly startled, burning intensely. He curled his lips.
Winnie also smiled at him, as if she had made up her mind, intertwining her fingers with his.
She said, "I will try my best to stay by your side. I love you, I love you too, Lawrence R."
Closing his tired eyes contently, L said, "Have a good sleep. When you wake up, we'll work hard together." Winnie said softly in his ear as she performed dry needling on him.
He was too exhausted.
After he fell into a deep sleep, she got up, took the address book from her bag, and went to find her uncle.
She couldn't wait to share her suspicions and prove to him that Lawrence R might not be their enemy.
She wanted to persuade her uncle to stop, there was still time!
Winnie made a phone call as soon as she stepped out of the room.
Unexpectedly, Elliott called first, sounding much softer, "Winnie, two mornings ago I was too excited. I'm sorry, Uncle pushed you too hard and I know I forced you too much. You didn't even visit me on Christmas Eve. Winnie, come over now, let's celebrate Christmas together."
Winnie couldn't figure out why his attitude suddenly eased.
She didn't have time to think too much and walked out, saying, "Uncle, I have something important to tell you!"
"Then I'll wait for you."
Elliott hung up the phone, his smile faded, and a coldness flashed in his eyes.
Winnie arrived at the apartment, but Elliott's car was parked outside, he was already inside the car, holding a bouquet of flowers.
Winnie frowned and walked over. "Let's get in the car first and go to the cemetery to visit Cameron and Irene," Elliott said.
Without saying anything, Winnie nodded and got in the car. The assistant drove the car away.
Winnie opened her bag, about to take out her address book when her uncle suddenly frowned and grabbed his right leg.
"Winnie, the pain is back. Get me the Dry Needling," he said.
Winnie hurriedly took out the needle case from her bag, which also contained medicine. She was about to take out the needle when suddenly the assistant slammed on the brakes.
Winnie's body twisted, and when she turned back to retrieve the Dry Needling, she realized that her uncle had thrown the entire bag out the window! Winnie was perplexed and looked up, only to meet her uncle's changed gaze.
"Uncle, what are you doing?" Elliott didn't say anything but looked at her with complexity...
Suddenly, the car door opened, and the assistant quickly brought a wet cloth from behind Winnie, covering her mouth. The medicine quickly entered Winnie's nose and mouth, and she widened her eyes, staring at her uncle in disbelief...
