Chapter 666 Do You Want Revenge

As Lawrence walked back to the bedside, Bob was still in a daze, his eyes unfocused. He didn't even seem to hear the police at the door.

Lawrence was worried. What had crushed Bob so badly? But there was no time to ask.

"Dad!" Lawrence leaned in, his voice cold. "I know you just woke up, but the Rodriguez family needs you. The police are here for me again, and I have to leave for a few days. Listen, there are companies out there trying to take over the Rodriguez Group, especially the Scott family backed by the Peterson Group. Once I'm in the police station, I bet the Scott family will team up with others to attack us. So, sell off those unprofitable insurance, hotel, and semi-intelligent companies. Also, sell the Rodriguez estate ASAP and invest all the funds into finance and real estate. For real estate, talk to Bentley."

Lawrence remembered how Ray bailed him out last time, with Bentley's help behind the scenes. Bentley, the heir of the Jenkins family, might be their last shot.

"Sell the estate?" Bob's eyes filled with sorrow. 'Waking up from a serious illness, had it really come to this? It was all my fault for choosing the wrong wife, a venomous woman, and letting Ronnie come and go in the Rodriguez family for so many years, colluding with Hellen. Why didn't I die in his sickbed?'

He suddenly felt powerless watching the Rodriguez family suffer.

"Selling everything is the only way to preserve the last bit of the Rodriguez Group's foundation!"

"Dad." Sensing Bob's powerlessness and anger, Lawrence gritted his teeth. "I don't know what you're grieving over, but now is not the time to be down. The Rodriguez Group is your company, built with all your efforts. You were once a formidable figure. Are you just going to watch Ronnie strip it to its foundations without taking action? They, along with Mars, have hollowed out the Rodriguez Group! Are you just going to let it go? Besides you, what can Uncle Anday and Aunt Betty do? If not for yourself, think about Grandma. She's old; do you want her to see the Rodriguez family fall apart before she dies?"

Bob was deeply shaken. Lawrence had no more time to speak as the police came in to take him away. Left in a silent room, Bob sat dazed at the bedside. Gradually, his rough fingers clenched the pillow, which he threw to the ground, panting, his eyes red.

Lawrence was right; as long as he was alive, he couldn't let Ronnie put this shame on him. Bob's hatred surged from his chest. Since he wasn't dead and had woken up, he shouldn't sink into despair, which would play right into Ronnie's hands. The century-old Rodriguez family business couldn't be destroyed by him alone; he wasn't old yet, and he could still make a comeback.

Bob stared coldly at the divorce papers, as if every word mocked him for being a fool for so long. Suddenly, the phone on the papers rang. Bob glanced at it, his eyes filled with cold fury, and answered.

On the other end, Hellen quickly got the news and said coldly, "You're really hard to kill. Bob, since you didn't die from this, hurry up and divorce me. I don't want to bear the Rodriguez Group's debts with you. I've waited so many years, and I can finally be Mars's mother openly. If you delay, Ronnie won't let you off."

"You..." Bob coughed, unable to speak, and angrily hung up the phone.

"Mr. Bob Rodriguez!" Bryan rushed over, worriedly holding him down.

After a long silence, Bob's eyes sharpened like a knife. He spoke slowly, "Bryan, call Anday immediately. We need to sell off all the Rodriguez Group's subsidiaries and see how much capital we can free up. Also, contact an auction company for the Rodriguez estate."

He seemed to have aged several years, but Bryan saw the once-glorious Bob in his eyes.

Bryan's eyes lit up; Bob had finally come to his senses. "Alright, I'll get on it right away. Lawrence has been taken to the police station, and we don't know how long he'll be there, but with you here, I believe the Rodriguez Group won't disappear from Veridiania."

Bob's heart ached sharply; he couldn't even manage Lawrence's affairs anymore and could only rely on himself to handle it.

Outside the hospital, Ray hurried over in the night.

"Bryan, how did that useless Sam suddenly come to Trento City to report Lawrence?"

"I have no idea." Bryan frowned coldly. "Mr. Martin, can you contact Mr. DeRoss from the DeRoss family?"

Ray shook his head with difficulty. "Even when we were close with Jeremy, he rarely talked about his family. We just know the DeRoss family is one of the top families in triad gangs, very mysterious. I'll have to go back to Lymington and ask the DeRoss family in person what they mean by this."

"I'm afraid it will be too late by then; who knows what condition Mr. Lawrence Rodriguez will be in at the police station."

Ray squinted his cold eyes. "Jeremy said Sam is a useless person. He wouldn't dare report to the police alone. There must be someone behind him guiding him."

"Mr. Lawrence Rodriguez suspected it immediately. He questioned Sam, but Sam was arrogant and even told the police that Jeremy's mother was related to the President. The police didn't dare to be negligent, and with Mr. Lawrence Rodriguez's downfall, they arrested him immediately."

"This matter is probably connected to Mars or the Peterson family," Ray cursed, throwing away his cigarette.

Bryan was at a loss. "The hateful thing is, Sean did shoot Jeremy. Sean was foolish, and if Sam insists on it, Mr. Lawrence Rodriguez will be held responsible."

"Let's try to get bail first."

At the same time, Mars played with his cigar, watching Lawrence being taken into custody. He smiled and dialed a number.

"Hello, Mr. Mars Martin."

"Mr. Harrington, I heard your wife refuses to accuse Lawrence of kidnapping. Does she still have feelings for Lawrence? Well, I helped you by getting him 'invited' to the police station again. He'll probably be locked up for a few days. Do you want revenge?"

On the dark balcony, Rock listened to Mars's words. A deep whirlpool flashed in his eyes, and he smiled, "Mr. Mars Martin, you're very great. Thank you so much."

Hanging up the phone, Rock squinted his eyes. He understood Mars wanted to use him against Lawrence. But since Lawrence was in this situation, he couldn't miss the opportunity. His eyes filled with shadows, letting out a cold laugh.

The next morning,

Winnie took Oscar to the Blanchet family hospital for a neurological check-up. Oscar repeatedly refused to let her into the examination room, asking her to wait outside.

An hour later, Oscar walked out confidently. "Mommy, I'm done with the check-up."

Winnie immediately asked the neurologist, "Doctor, is there any damage to my son's brain?"

Oscar 'warned' the neurologist with a glance.
