Chapter 895 Jeremy's Disappointment
"He left in a rush. You gotta understand, it's all for his career, for a better life for you and the kids."
Oscar nodded eagerly. "Yeah, Mom, don't doubt Dad. He's really out there for business."
Yeah, right. Business, my foot! Winnie looked at the uncertain faces in front of her.
Her heart sank, and her doubts grew. She forced a smile. "So, does the Rodriguez family know he's on a business trip? They don't mind?"
"Winnie, Lawrence must have some important business to handle. I know him well; he wouldn't leave you behind, especially now that he's trying to win you back."
"Lawrence told us to take good care of you and the kids, no complaints."
"He might need a few days to come back. Just stay calm and get closer to the Rodriguez family."
"Lawrence is worried about your safety. He's arranged for a lot of people to protect you secretly. Relying on the Rodriguez family will reduce risks." Leah approached in her wheelchair, speaking earnestly to Winnie.
The Rodriguez family's attitude towards Lawrence's sudden disappearance was clear.
Winnie felt that no matter how much she asked, she wouldn't get any answers.
Leah probably didn't know the real reason, thinking Lawrence was just pursuing his career.
The only ones who knew Lawrence's true purpose in going to AquaVista Continent were probably Bob or Ray.
These two would never tell her anything.
"How many days exactly? Don't business trips have schedules?" Winnie pressed Ray for answers.
Ray felt uncomfortable. Who knew how long Lawrence would be gone or what dangers he might face?
His mind was conflicted, and he couldn't make any promises. "Lawrence said it could be a few days, or it might be uncertain..."
"Uncertain?" Winnie was very anxious. "He can't even arrange his own schedule for a business trip?"
"Because the cooperation is uncertain. If it doesn't work out, Dad might stay there to find solutions and stay longer."
Oscar tried his best to comfort his mom.
Winnie felt uneasy. She guessed that Lawrence's trip might involve danger; otherwise, he wouldn't leave without a return date.
What on earth could be so important that he had to handle it personally without a word?
She was upset and sad that he left so suddenly without saying anything to her.
Ray stepped forward. "Don't worry. Once he settles in AquaVista Continent, he'll find time to contact you."
Winnie was defiant. "Who said I'm worried? Who wants him to contact me? I won't answer his calls. He can do whatever he wants; it has nothing to do with me!"
Oscar and Sidney were speechless.
They knew Winnie would be very angry.
At ten in the morning, Bryan finally remembered that Jeremy was still locked in the bar's private room.
Bryan sent someone with the key.
As soon as Jeremy got out, he kicked over the bodyguard, venting his anger on the person who opened the door.
He called Lawrence, but the phone was unreachable!
He still didn't know what had happened.
With the matter weighing on his mind all night, Jeremy washed his face with cold water and hurriedly left the bar, driving straight to the hospital from yesterday!
At the hospital, Jeremy found that Olivia had already checked out.
Damn it.
His eyes darkened as he left her room, scribbling 'Olivia' on a piece of paper, and headed straight to the obstetrics and gynecology director's office.
A nurse happened to come out, and the tall Jeremy slammed the door open!
The nurse was startled, looking up at Jeremy, who wore gold-rimmed glasses and had a refined appearance, but his temper was terrifying.
The nurse sensed danger and turned to the obstetrics doctor, Chris Diaz. "Mr. Diaz, there's someone here..."
"Are you the obstetrics doctor?" Jeremy barged in, recognizing Chris from yesterday's check-up on Olivia.
He slapped the name on Chris's desk, his presence intimidating, and coldly questioned, "I need to know about this woman. Mr. Diaz, tell me honestly, how many days pregnant is Olivia?"
"Ms. Smith..." Chris's eyes flickered when he saw the name.
Olivia had come to see him that morning.
Jeremy, immersed in his anger, continued, "She said she's two months pregnant. She's lying, right? Give me all her pregnancy test results from yesterday. I need to see them myself."
"Sorry, sir, what is your relationship with Ms. Smith?"
"That's none of your business! Hand them over!"
Chris's face turned pale for a moment, but quickly returned to normal. He said nothing, then pulled several test results from his drawer and handed them over.
Jeremy snatched them eagerly, his heart racing as he opened them.
After a few seconds, Jeremy was silent.
Finally, he tore the test results into pieces!
"Hey, sir, you can't tear up the test results!" Chris pretended to be alarmed.
Jeremy grabbed his collar, his refined glasses unable to hide the turmoil in his eyes. He shouted at Chris, "You faked the test results, didn't you? How could she be two months pregnant? She had you lie to me, didn't she?!"
"No, sir! Ms. Smith is indeed two months pregnant. As a doctor, I wouldn't fake this. The test results are real. Please stop doubting."
Chris had not only taken ten thousand dollars from Olivia but was also threatened by her personal life. He had no choice!
Fortunately, Jeremy tore the test results early, probably out of anger. If he had looked at them longer, he might have noticed that the ink was still wet and the report was freshly printed.
Olivia was ruthless, not telling Jeremy the child was his.
Chris was sweating profusely.
Jeremy, like an enraged lion, wanted to tear Olivia apart.
How could she be two months pregnant?
Chris couldn't deny it, and Jeremy was deeply disappointed.
Why wasn't this child his? Why?
Jeremy suddenly let go, his eyes darkening. The hope Adam had hinted at last night was shattered again.
Adam hadn't denied that he might have had relations with Olivia on Azure Isle.
Jeremy had foolishly hoped all night!
But now, even he questioned Chris, Chris's answer was still two months.
Jeremy didn't think Chris would dare lie to his face.
So the answer was: Olivia might have slept with him, but she definitely slept with Sam two months ago!
Her baby was indeed Sam's, just as she said.
It was utterly pointless!
