Chapter 643 Mother and Son Reunion

Winnie's body went rigid. That wasn't Sidney's voice!
She spun around. There stood Oscar, a small figure behind her. He looked at her deeply, slowly breaking into a smile. "Mommy, I missed you so much."
Time seemed to stop.
Winnie pressed a hand to her lips, a fleeting sorrow crossing her face. She blinked rapidly, reminding herself not to cry. Oscar had been through so much; she couldn't let him worried about her.
She had to smile.
Winnie smiled, squatted down, and opened her arms. "Oscar, my darling."
Oscar dropped his small laptop bag and ran into her arms, grinning.
Winnie felt how thin he was and couldn't help but tear up.
She gently touched his head, and asked cautiously. "Sidney said you got hurt. Sweetheart, tell me where you're hurt."
Oscar knew Sidney had said that on his instructions. While Winnie checked his head, he smiled and kissed her cheek. "Just a scratch, Mommy. No need to worry. I'm already getting treatment."
"Can it be cured?" Winnie's voice was heavy.
"Of course. It just needs time, and I need to stay at the doctor's house for now."
"Oscar, when were you rescued?"
Oscar lowered his head. "More than a month ago."
Winnie was stunned. 'Why hadn't Lawrence told me? Lawrence had kept it from me! I had always thought I had to marry Rock and complete the deal with Ishara to get Oscar back.'
Oscar seemed to read her thoughts. He told the truth without defending Lawrence. "Daddy thought I was very sick, so he didn't want to worry you."
'Really?' Winnie lowered her eyes, questions swirling in her mind. She wanted to ask Oscar, but she couldn't.
She didn't know what kind of torture Oscar had endured in Ishara's hands. She didn't want him to relive those painful memories.
She wiped her eyes, gently touched his face, and tried to sound cheerful. "It's all over now! Oscar, don't be afraid anymore. You're back. I will never let you and your brother be in danger again. The three of us will never be separated. I'll take you to the hospital to check your illness, and I will definitely cure you. Oscar, you are my proud"
Oscar averted his gaze, his crystal-clear eyes momentarily tinged with red. No one understood the depth of his fear when Ishara spirited him away on that rainy night.
Yet, Winnie's words of encouragement had always been his pillar of strength.
He had persevered, even swayed Leo, and repeatedly extricated himself from perilous situations to save his own life.
But now wasn't the right time to tell Winnie he was fine, not sick. He needed a reason to stay with Leo and get the last crucial thing.
'What if the child in Ishara's belly was really Winnie and Lawrence's?' Oscar silently lowered his dark eyes. He couldn't imagine how Winnie would face it all. He might have to secretly protect that 'little brother or sister.'
"Winnie." Rock's voice came from the doorway of the hospital room.
Winnie wiped away her tears and immediately stood up, holding Oscar's hand tightly.
"It's good that you've reunited with Oscar." Rock's face showed a hint of joy.
Oscar slowly looked at Rock. "Uncle Harrington, long time no see."
"Oscar, you have no idea how much your mom has worried about you these past three months," Rock said, walking over and patting his head. 'Oscar was much more polite than Sidney. And having grown up abroad, Oscar had always accepted my support. Oscar is surely trusted me.'
Oscar, however, was observing Rock closely. Sidney had warned him multiple times that Rock was a bad person, cunning, and possibly in cahoots with Ishara.
Oscar's thoughts wavered. Tonight was his chance to test Rock.
'Patrick and his daughter wanted to harm Carlos. If Rock was really with Ishara, he should be wary of coming to the hospital to ruin Ishara's plan. But he came and caught the people Patrick sent.'
Oscar fell into thought.
"By the way, Winnie, I've already caught those two men Patrick sent. They disguised themselves as doctors and tried to inject your dad with an overdose to make it look like a medical accident. It seems Patrick wants your dad dead in a hurry."
Winnie's eyes turned cold, and she clenched her fingers as she strode into the hospital room.
Oscar came to a conclusion. 'Uncle Harrington had helped Winnie so much; he probably had nothing to do with Ishara.'
He picked up his small laptop, staring at the red mark on the screen, and coldly smiled. "Patrick probably doesn't know my mommy is back. We caught him off guard, and he's already run away."
Winnie heard Oscar's words and said sadly, "Rock, take these two men away first. I need a confession from them about the mastermind."
"I understand. Leave it to me," Rock replied, ordering his bodyguards to take the men away.
Oscar carried his laptop bag and walked into the hospital room. This was his first time seeing his Grandpa, although he had been watching this hospital for days.
"Mommy, Grandpa is so handsome! You can tell how good-looking he was when he was young. No wonder he has such a beautiful daughter like you," Oscar said quietly by the bedside, looking around.
Winnie looked at him with a smile, placing his small hand on Carlos's hand. She said to the pale Carlos on the bed, "Dad, this is your other grandson. You haven't met him, but he looks just like Sidney. When I wanted to search the Blanchet family villa's cabin, you didn't suspect Ishara. Now that Oscar is back, he is the living proof. Dad, you don't have to feel sad because Ishara is not your biological daughter."
Winnie gritted her teeth as she spoke, her eyes flashing with cold light. "Patrick and Ishara have tried to harm you again and again for the Blanchet Group. Now that I'm back, I won't let them get away with it. It's time to settle old and new scores."
She narrowed her eyes.
In the hospital corridor, Rock stared at the suddenly incoming call on his phone, his eyes quickly darkening. He glanced at Carlos's hospital room, walking to the opposite end of the corridor. Only then did he squint disdainfully and answer the call.
"Rock! What do you mean by this?" Ishara's voice screamed in anger on the other end. "This is between me and Winnie. Stay out of it! Have you forgotten our previous deal? How dare you help Winnie? Aren't you afraid I'll expose your past schemes?"
