Chapter 84 Waiting for Her Reflection

"Young designer, if you show a little more sincerity, perhaps you should create an exclusive jewelry collection for my mother? I will pay and use the best auctioned diamonds to buy your designs. It is imperative to give my mother some satisfaction." The man slyly winked at Winnie.

Winnie looked at him excitedly, "I will do my best, Mrs. Harrington, to ensure your satisfaction!"

Mrs. Harrington snorted, "That is about right. As for this bracelet, I will keep it. Rock, escort our guest."

As she watched Madam Harrington comparing bracelets, Winnie knew that her anger had subsided considerably.

Outside the ward, Winnie turned back with immense gratitude but bumped into a pair of warmly discerning eyes. The man was looking at her, his gaze deep.

Winnie awkwardly wiped her face and said, "Rock, thank you so much for your generous help today."

"I am Rock from the Harrington family, I’m a bit older than you," he smirked, looking at her with interest. "I know you, Ms. Winnie?"

Winnie was surprised. The Harrington family, one of the top wealthy families. How was she worthy of their attention? She wondered.

Seeing her confusion, the man smirked, "I have been overseas for many years, so it's normal that you don't know me. But I have seen you once at a party."

He wanted to make a move back then, but hesitated due to the age difference.

Ahem, Rock cleared his throat and smiled. "Miss Anderson, please remember your promise. Let me escort you."

"I certainly will. I don't want to trouble you, Rock!" Winnie quickly shook her head. She hadn't expected this difficult situation to be resolved so easily, putting Mrs. Harrington at ease, was all that mattered now.

She blinked her eyes and smiled, truly grateful to the gentleman in front of her.

Rock watched the girl walk away—almond-shaped eyes, stunning face, slim waist—she was a beauty, and talented too. His eyes narrowed slightly.

A week later, Winnie was discharged from the hospital, alone.

Triton had many matters to attend to, so Winnie went back to the villa first, to freshen up and drop of her bags. The house felt empty and cold, Madam Rodriguez hadn't been in a good mood since returning from the Hot Spring Resort and stayed in her isolated villa. The man of the house also showed no signs of coming home either.

Was this some kind of indication that he was fed up with her? Winnie tried to push these thoughts aside.

At this rate, things couldn't be reconciled. She understood that and felt even more desolate. If she had known, she would not have crossed the line and initiated a relationship. It would have been better to be a stranger to him...

Winnie's eyes turned red as she thought. Perhaps she should consider moving out. She shouldn't hinder him from coming home, especially since her mother-in-law happened to be away...

In the Imperial Building, CEO's office.

Luke regularly received calls from the nurse, reporting on what Mrs. L had eaten and the baby's condition. Which he relayed to Mr. L, who pretended to be indifferent to the information.

Today, there was an additional update from the nurse, "Mrs. L checked out of the hospital at ten o'clock this morning."

Luke stole a glance at the cold and stern man behind the desk, about to speak when the man raised his icy gaze. "Why was she reflecting at the hospital?"

"...Your hearing is not great, but your imagination is abundant." Luke said bitterly. "Mrs. L checked out on her own accord."

L's face turned as cold as the abyss. "If she leaves this Earth, it's none of my concern. Who asked you to, Report on her whereabouts?"

"..." Luke stumbled upon the barrel of a gun, but her realized too late.

Ten minutes later, Luke received a phone call. With a mournful expression as if facing a muzzle, he rushed back and said, "Mr. L, the driver said Mrs. L drove out to look for properties, seems like she plans... to move out."

The office fell into a deathly silence.
Two minutes later, there was a loud thud as a pen shattered onto the ground.

Luke trembled as he looked at the million-dollar pen... on the ground shattered beyond repair.
Lawrence R emitted a chilling aura all over his body. "Damn woman." He wanted to crack open her skull and see what was inside.

Furious as he was, he began barking orders, "Why are you still standing there waiting to die? Find out which real estate company she's at!"

Lawrence R, left the CEO office immediately and with her location in hand he went to apprehend her. Speeding toward Kingdom Estate Building, Luke received a call from an assistant informing him that they discovered the Real Estate company was owned by Imperial itself...

Lawrence R chuckled in anger, thinking to himself that. She sure knew how to find places.

A man shrouded in mystery with a seemingly chilling aura walked straight into the real estate building. Winnie happened to be walking out, just passing by, wanting to make some plans after coming here. The real estate agent enthusiastically introduced her business, but she suddenly felt an icy chill.

When she turned her head, she saw a gloomy and handsome man standing before her.
Winnie shivered and raised her eyes, filled with doubt. She politely smiled, "Imperial Jewelry's CEO?" Winnie said with a hint of Surprise.

Lawrence R did not wear a mask and was so furious that he had forgot to mask it. Seeing her smile, he found her face, which he hadn't seen in days, pale with makeup, even more menacing.

Winnie's scalp went numb from his gaze. She suddenly thought of something, took a few steps closer to him, and smiled apologetically, "Imperial Jewelry's CEO, are you available? It's lunchtime, and I would like to treat you to a meal. Didn't I owe you a thank you last time?"

As soon as she finished speaking, she felt the man's chilling aura destroy everything.
He sneered sarcastically, "You like treating men to meals so much? Can't survive a day without a man? Get lost."

Winnie: “...”??

Does this Lawrence R have a split personality disorder? She frowned coldly. Last time, he shamelessly seduced her and forced her into a corner, but today, he arrogantly scolded her. Can Viagra work that fast? Is he sick?

She couldn't afford to offend him. Winnie felt aggrieved and begged softly, "Imperial Jewelry's CEO, please grace me with your presence for this meal. I have urgent matters..." Winnie was cut off.

"Make her leave." Lawrence R’s words were stern and final.

The man walked into the elevator without a care in the world. Winnie was infuriated.

In the shadows, Luke shivered. Of course, the CEO would be furious. Now that he was Lawrence R, Mrs. L was undoubtedly sneaking around with other men, digging her own grave...

On the 5th floor, facing the sudden visit of the big boss for inspection, the real estate general manager was trembling with fear.

The big boss seemed lost in his thoughts. Frequently glancing at the lobby on the first floor, L suddenly had a gloomy face and asked Luke, "Where is she going again?"
”Didn't she invite me for a meal? There's no sincerity at all." L felt irritated.

Luke was speechless. "Mrs. L seems to have just gone to the restroom."

...

Two minutes later, the woman returned, munching on a roasted sweet potato and thoroughly enjoying it.

L gave Luke a piercing glance. "She clearly went to buy a snack, and you helped her lie."

...

"Because she's hungry, I suppose," Luke said, once again at a loss for words.

"Tell her to come up, I'll give her face," the man said in a gloomy tone.

Winnie truly had no idea that this man changed his mind faster than flipping a book, causing her to not even finish her sweet potato. She quickly rushed upstairs and bowed down as she invited, "Imperial Jewelry's CEO, thank you for gracing us with your presence. Shall we move to the French restaurant?"

Lawrence R's face darkened again. "The French restaurant? A place for flirting. You and your husband have never been there, right?"

Winnie didn't understand why he would say that. She pointed to the opposite side. "Because it's nearby, that's why." As though stating the obvious.

...

Luke: "..." It must be said, CEO, you are really self-assuming. Luke smirked to himself daring not to make a move further.

Lawrence R, angrily entered the private room of the French restaurant without even pulling out a chair for Winnie like a gentleman.

Winnie felt that Lawrence R was embodying a persona because of Luke's presence. If it weren't for seeing a glimpse of his true self last time, this bad temper would really seem like a different person.

She suppressed her anger and ordered the food, while Lawrence R turned his profile to the window without even looking at her.

Oh well, who asked him to have such a handsome face? It was enough to soothe a woman's anger.

Winnie got straight to the point. "Imperial Jewelry's CEO, Mr. Lawrence, the main reason I invited you to dinner today is in my capacity as the General Manager of Triton. Regarding the news that slandered me for encouraging Mr. Swift to supply fake diamond materials to your company, I deeply apologize for any losses incurred by your company.”

Winnie continued, “However, I must clarify that I did not do it! If you don't believe me, we can confront Mr. Swift at the police station. It was my stepsister, Ava, who fabricated the story to intensify my guilt."

Lawrence R paused, clearly surprised that she invited him to dinner for a serious matter, not for flirting.

She explained the situation to him, emphasizing her innocence, her small face stubborn and her gaze unwavering.

A flicker of emotion stirred in the man's chest, amidst the heaviness that had been there for the past few days.
