Chapter 419 Confrontation

Ishara smiled gently and said in a pitiful manner, "Does Lawrence also think that Winnie doesn't like it? It's my first time making a cup, so it might be a bit ugly. Because I was weak since childhood and never had a chance to go out and learn pottery. Winnie, I'm sorry. Next time, I'll get you a gift that you like..."

"No need." Winnie abruptly took the cup, her eyes adorned with a hint of a coldness that appeared strikingly beautiful in the dim light. She examined the cup and curved her lips as she said, "Although it's ugly, it's very genuine. Just like the emotions between two people, when one betrays, his or her ugly face will be exposed, just like these cracks here."

Lawrence's intense gaze pierced sharply, his heart sinking at her cutting words. The man's fingers emitted a sharp sound as he clenched his fists tightly.

However, overshadowing this cruel sound was Winnie loosening her grip, causing the brand-new cup to fall to the ground, shattering into several pieces.

"Winnie..." Ishara composed her expression, which seemed as if it had been harshly struck, and raised her head, looking hurt.

Madam Blanchet and Angela immediately turned an unsatisfied gaze toward Winnie.

"What do you mean by intentionally breaking the cup Ishara made for you? Are you trying to upset her?!" Angela provocatively said.

"Winnie, Ishara didn't mean any harm..." Eleanor's tone revealed a sense of grievance.

This undoubtedly pushed Winnie further toward the cruel edge of public opinion.

Carlos frowned and defended his daughter, "It must have slipped from Winnie's hand. How could she have done it intentionally? Angela, don't pick a fight."

Winnie feigned innocence and responded, "Dad is right, it was just an accident. The gift that my sister carefully gave me, I'll definitely 'dispose' of it properly."

Her tone contained a faint indifference. "But once it's given to me, it becomes my cup. Even if it accidentally gets broken, it doesn't justify the accusation that I'm upset with my sister, does it? Ishara, Eleanor, Angela, you've all gone too far."

She didn't shy away from naming names, giving a direct response to each of them.

Eleanor and Angela were left speechless, and Carlos immediately realized that their words earlier were provoking.

Ishara innocently smiled and said, "Angela is making a big deal out of nothing, but it is a pity about the cup... Lawrence, should we make another one next time?"

The man stood coldly, as if lost in thought, and his icy eyes hid a sense of pain, still fixed on Winnie.

"Lawrence, why are you staring at Winnie?" Ishara questioned innocently, suddenly looking toward Winnie with curiosity. "Speaking of which, when Winnie and Lawrence first met, she said something that seemed incomprehensible to me..."

The girl bit her lip and gently tugged on the sleeve of the tall man, asking, "Lawrence, "Did you... know Winnie?" She suddenly coughed as she clutched her chest, anxiously waiting for Lawrence's answer.

The man hesitated, noticing her uneasy emotions. Now, in front of the Blanchet family, he had to handle the situation and keep the truth hidden from Ishara and the Blanchet family. Otherwise, it would have caused chaos.

Lawrence's deep gaze slowly moved away from Winnie's face, and that glance felt like the final nail in the coffin, sealing their divide irreversibly. Since Winnie had discovered his relationship with Ishara and had already begun a relationship with Rock, there was no turning back for either of them. It was better to endure short-term pain for long-term relief; after all, through the pain, she would find herself with a new life ahead.

'Let's both give up on each other then,' Lawrence thought to himself before he sarcastically replied, with a frozen heart, "I don't know her. How could I know her?" His fists clenched tightly as he uttered those words.

Winnie concentrated her gaze, waiting for how he would answer. But what came was a loud noise in her head, as a ridiculous needle pierced her heart. He actually said he didn't know her. She had given birth to two children for him, but this was the outcome she ended up with.

Just to appease his new girlfriend, she wasn't even deserving of existence in his world! She finally saw the true repulsive mask of this man.

"I told you, I haven't even seen Winnie, so how could Lawrence have known her either." Ishara let out a sigh of relief, smiling as she looked at Winnie. "Winnie, let's go inside. I'll show you around the house." A childlike enthusiasm appeared on her face, but her deeply hidden raised eyebrow a didn't escape Winnie's notice.

If Ishara knew about her relationship with Lawrence, she would consider this question a triumph.
Winnie's lips curled into a cold smile as she walked in, calmly retorting, concealing her sarcasm, "You seem to be tired, my little sister. You don't need to trouble yourself. This will also be my home in the future. No need for a tour."

Ishara's expression faltered.

Carlos also spoke to Ishara, "Ishara, you're not feeling well, so you shouldn't move around too much. Your sister is right; it's her own home. She will have plenty of time to take a look around."

"All right, Father." Ishara barely pursed her lips, her breathing becoming strained.

Eleanor looked to Lawrence for help. "Lawrence, Ishara can't walk much. Could you please carry her inside?"

Knowing that she had been overwhelmed this afternoon, Lawrence frowned and lifted Ishara. Passing by Winnie, his profile tightened as he walked into the house.

Winnie watched his imposing figure, reminiscing about the past when those embraces belonged to her. Now, seeing him holding another woman, those cherished memories made her sick. A burning sensation engulfed her stomach as she stood in the living room, supporting herself against the corridor pillar, struggling to endure.

He gently carried Ishara to the sofa. She was a girl with fair features, a face smaller than a palm, delicate hair, tender skin, and lips pale like a delicate flower. Regardless of the time, she always wore a smile, yet a hint of sadness shimmered in her eyes. It seemed as though she was forcing herself to appear strong and joyful for everyone, making her the type to easily evoke pity and protective instincts.

Winnie narrowed her eyes faintly. Madam Blanchet couldn't help but feel sorry for Ishara, so she held Ishara’s hands affectionately and said, "Ishara, I care for you like my own. Don't sneak out, or you might catch a cold unintentionally."

"I understand, Grandmother. But I can't miss my first date with Lawrence. He has been taking good care of me today, so don't worry."

Madam Blanchet was pleasantly surprised and turned toward Lawrence, saying, "Thank you, Mr. Lawrence. From now on, you'll have to cherish our Ishara."

Lawrence's dark gaze deepened, and he subtly paid attention to the neglected Winnie beside them. His emotions were concealed in his eyes, hidden too deeply. His lips tightened as he replied, "Naturally, I will take care of her."

Winnie leaned heavily against the corridor pillar, her usual resilience crumbling under the weight of his words, which pierced her heart. She struggled to comprehend how someone's feelings could shift so swiftly, transforming them into a heartless individual. Perhaps he lacked a heart altogether. Despite constantly being surrounded by women, he wasted no time in secretly meeting Ishara shortly after Darcy's disappearance three days ago. Within just a few days of arriving in Trento City, he was already being introduced to her parents.

She pondered to herself, 'Winnie, you only bring humiliation upon yourself by entertaining illusions about this jerk.'

Seeing the man's seemingly indifferent attention shifting in their direction, Ishara also looked over and said, "Grandmother, don't just talk about me. Today is about Winnie coming home. Winnie, don't just stand there. Today, you're the protagonist, and we all want to get to know you."

"Why bother inviting her over? We don't have anything in common anyway. Does she know the prestigious aristocratic families in Trento City?" Angela sneered.

"You know them well?" The man on the couch with his alluring long legs spoke coldly.
