Chapter 57 The CEO of Imperial Jewelry Can No Longer Hide His Identity!

Although angry, she turned to get ingredients from the refrigerator. She took some tomatoes and lean meat.

Lawrence frowned and pointed to the other various ingredients. "With so many things, you only know how to make pasta for me?"

"As long as there's food, don't be picky!"

She retreated upstairs after she served him the pasta.

After he had finished eating the pasta, the man's mood improved slightly. He came up to take a shower and found that the master bedroom door was already closed.

He twisted the doorknob but it was locked. He couldn't enter.

Winnie, anxiously peeking from behind the door, said, "My mother has her own space in the primary bedroom. Going forward, when she skips room checks at night, Mr. L, kindly refrain from visiting my room. Even sitting on the sofa is off-limits."

"Why?" he asked, his expression suddenly turned cold.

As a gentleman, he couldn't resort to kicking the door open because he didn’t want to scare her.

There was a brief silence inside, probably thinking of a reason. Then Winnie came up with one. "It will disturb the baby's sleep."

"The baby's sleep?" he asked, slightly puzzled at her response.

With a gloomy face, the man walked toward the bathroom.

Winnie was also afraid that he would be very angry. After all, ever since she met him, she knew that he had a bad temper.

She cautiously poked her head out and glanced at the closed door of the shared bathroom.

Without Taylor to serve him, he casually threw his shirts everywhere.

As a debutante, Winnie possessed the virtues of a good and virtuous lady. She walked over with small steps, picked up his precious handmade shirt, and intended to put it back. However, a slim cigarette fell out of the shirt pocket.

It was a men's brand with an exquisite and distinguished feel, something not readily available on the market.

The cigarette seized her interest, twirling between her fingers as she examined it closely.

She was certain that Lawrence had been smoking this same brand of cigarettes in the corridor this afternoon and was certain that she saw it.

The flavor and appearance were identical as well.

Winnie suddenly turned her head and stared at the bathroom door.

She hurriedly returned to her bedroom, closed the door, and fell into a perplexing contemplation.

At four in the morning, Olivia was awakened by a phone call.

Winnie's voice sounded strange. "Olivia?"

"Um, where am I?" Olivia woke up with a headache and opened her eyes. "Winnie, did you leave me at the hotel and return home alone? I am your good friend!"

"That's not the point now, Olivia."

Olivia got up and saw the messy dresser. Fuzzy memories from last night flooded her mind and she chuckled. "I dreamt that a couple was kissing in front of me and was making such a loud noise but they didn't continue at the critical moment. Did they think I didn't pay?"

"Olivia, I think it was just your dream." Winnie lied out of embarrassment.

She then composed herself and spoke in a serious manner, "Olivia, I have stumbled onto something important. I might have discovered a shocking conspiracy."

"What kind of conspiracy?" Olivia instantly became attentive.

Winnie closed her eyes tightly and said, "Mr. L and Mr. Lawrence!"

"What about them? Are you suggesting that the two outstanding men around you are lovers, leaving you as the unnecessary supporting role in this drama?"

"You've been watching too many TV dramas. What if Mr. L and Mr. Lawrence are the same person?" Winnie replied.

Olivia looked puzzled and horrified. "Winnie... your theory about Mr. L and Mr. Lawrence is quite audacious."

Winnie narrowed her gaze, her mind swirling like a tempest. "Tonight, I stumbled upon the revelation that both Mr. L and Mr. Lawrence indulge in the exact same brand of cigarettes. And mind you, it's not your run-of-the-mill variety. Doesn't it strike you as an excessively peculiar coincidence?

"Not only that, but Lawrence also defended me today and used the original draft that I had discussed with Mr. L which I never gave to him. I asked Mr. L if he knew Mr. Lawrence and he deliberately avoided the question. Then I realized, Mr. Lawrence did the same thing in the afternoon. Most importantly, I've thought of many other details.

"In the afternoon, Mr. Lawrence said he didn't like ugly oil paintings. I've said the same thing to Mr. L before. If Mr. L is Mr. Lawrence then I'm doomed. I am going to curse that Mr. Lawrence's dick to shrink by 10cm!

"Furthermore, I lied to Mr. Lawrence saying that I needed to go home to serve my husband but Mr. L came to the bar and directly asked me why I didn't go home to serve him. What do you think?" Winnie became more and more excited as she spoke.

"If you think about it carefully, both Mr. L and Lawrence R are 188cm tall and they even have a similar scent."

"Have you sniffed Lawrence up close?" Olivia teased with a smirk playing on her lips.

Winnie shared with Olivia of her theory. "Moreover, Mr. L consistently asserted that Mr. Lawrence wasn't a fan of oil paintings. Nevertheless, Mr. Lawrence exhibited a profound understanding of jewelry. He went as far as providing guidance. Considering the apparent rivalry between us, Mr. Lawrence would only extend assistance unless... Mr. Lawrence is Mr. L. Any man witnessing his mistreated wife wouldn't merely stand idly by."

Olivia watched Winnie's increasingly detective-like behavior and interrupted. "So, this idea was triggered by a cigarette, and you suddenly realized it?"

"Do you think it's possible? If they are the same person, then Mr. L's reason for wearing a mask with me is quite plausible!" Winnie paced anxiously.

Olivia said, "It's not impossible. So, what is the next step?"

"We need to gather evidence now!" exclaimed Winnie.

The unearthing proof was a definite mission, but they had to navigate with subtlety, avoiding any hint that might alert their "enemy".

If Mr. L is truly Lawrence then he was just toying with her.

In the morning, Winnie intentionally woke up a bit later. By then, Mr. L had already left the villa.

Madam Rodriguez offered Winnie to drink milk to replenish the nutrients in her body.

After she finished drinking the milk, Winnie immediately set off.

She and Olivia had planned to go to the Tobacco Bureau first and find the tobacco expert.

Winnie took out the stolen gentleman's premium cigarettes.

The expert inspected them thoroughly and concluded that it wasn't on the market. These cigarettes were incredibly expensive and limited globally, with fewer than ten men in the world who could afford them.

Lymington happened to have two of them.

Olivia frowned. "If the big shots in the jewelry industry can afford these cigarettes, I would believe it. But Mr. L at most looks like he has the money."

Winnie glanced at her. "That's why he deserves to be suspected."

The two of them arrived at the building Winnie had visited last time. Mr. L claimed it was his company building.

Upon reaching the 28th floor, it was evident that Mr. L's office didn't exist.

"I told you he rented a lousy building just to amuse his little wife. How mischievous," Olivia said with amusement while looking at Winnie.

Winnie pursed her lips. "This suggests that his real company must be remarkable. It further suggests that it could be a global giant like Imperial."

During lunchtime, Winnie didn't go home and instead hid outside because she had heard Madam Rodriguez say that Mr. L would return there at noon.

She had a plan in mind that she wanted to execute.
