Chapter 248 Strange Disease

Winnie sneered inwardly. So he still remembered that they didn't get a divorce certificate three years ago.

But he was in such a hurry to get engaged to his mistress, locked her up in a mental hospital, and in the end, heartlessly pushed their child and her to their deaths!

Suppressing her emotions, she shrugged casually.

"Well, what can we do? I've seen countless inept male patients like Mr. Rodriguez. Either you cooperate and take off your pants, or you waste more time, the longer it takes, the more consultation fees I will earn."

"... " Lawrence R pursed his lips.

She smirked and lowered her head to write in the medical record.
Suddenly, the man was very close to the desk, his breath heavy. Loosening his belt, he slowly unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his eight-pack abs while staring at her!

"... " This time, it was Winnie who was slightly stunned.

Her intention was to provoke him to leave. What is he doing? She wondered.

The man had a restrained expression, but his actions were seductive as the belt of his pants slid down...

Winnie's breath involuntarily hitched, and she bit her lip.

"Heh." His cold and hoarse voice sounded a bit dim as he stood straight in front of her, leaning against the edge of the desk.

"Since you're supposed to examine me, why are you hiding? Come here!" Lawrence said in a daring manner to Winnie.

Winnie stared at the desk, as his approaching figure got closer...

Feeling like the desk was going to get dirty, she pointed at the chair. "Patient, please calm down and sit there!"

"I'm not agitated." Lawrence R said playfully.

Winnie wished she could bite her own tongue off. She remained calm and mustered the courage to take the electric pads and approached him.

She placed the eight pads on his forehead, chest, and waist respectively. As the woman's breath brushed past him, she didn't notice. Her hair brushed against him several times, tickling his chest.

Lawrence R had no expression on his face, but his breathing became slightly shallow. He looked up at her delicate cheek, which had a faint blush.

He couldn't tell if it was from the air conditioning or if she was feeling uncomfortable as well.
His gaze moved up, locking onto her almond-shaped eyes, and he was momentarily stunned.

Just this morning, he had seen a pair of aggrieved, miniature almond eyes at home.

His son was a carbon copy of him, perfect in every way, except for the fact that his eyes resembled this woman's, sometimes round and filled with sadness.

Occasionally, he would have dreams he shouldn't have, and those tender almond eyes would be there too.

Damn it! His blood seemed to gather restlessly in the desired area... Lawrence R's face slightly changed, and he furrowed his brows.

Winnie placed the electrodes correctly and was about to adjust the settings when she suddenly twitched, at the sight before her. "..."

Was she sick or something? She hadn't even started the examination yet...

Winnie suppressed her embarrassment and asked him professionally, "Are you sure you are sick?"

"Aren't you the doctor? Can't you diagnose?" Lawrence R stared coolly at her pretty face, feeling both embarrassed and shocked.

He hadn't been intimated with Darcy for three years now. Every time they kissed, he felt uncomfortable and nauseous, let alone able to take it further.

He thought this was just how he was with women. But it seemed that being near Winnie changed everything...

He glared at this woman with annoyance and shame, then glanced at the instrument. "Useless, what tricks did you play?"

"Don't be nervous, this is just a data instrument. How would I know you are perfectly fine?"
Winnie calmly opened his medical record, raised an eyebrow and stared at him.

"But Miss Ordelia's medical record says that you've been sick for three years and are unable to be a real husband to her. It seems that having a big appetite is not a good thing. Go back and tell your family to take it easy."

Lawrence R, a person of his caliber, couldn't fail to notice that she was mocking both him and Darcy at the same time.

"You foul-mouthed woman, you're asking for death." He felt like his dignity was being trampled upon. He glared at her with disgust.

Winnie tossed his shirt and trousers back at him and looked up. "This is your prescription. Did you go to the hospital and get it filled, Mr. Rodriguez? These words from me are the medicine, understand?"

Lawrence R quickly put on his clothes, but he struggled with fastening his belt. Winnie finished writing the medical record and impatiently turned her head. "Why are you still not leaving?"
"Don't you have eyes to see? What you have done!" His gaze darkened, "How can I leave now?"

Her lips twitched again, and she smirked as if she had discovered something. "What's it to me? Could it be that Mr. Rodriguez has thoughts about a female doctor?"

"My body is perfectly healthy, I'm not sick at all." Lawrence defended.

"Not sick? Then why did you come for a check-up?" Winnie sneered, squinting at the data. He was overly healthy, and after pondering for a moment, she thought of a possibility.

"Could it be that you are simply uninterested in your fiancée, or impotent perhaps? That would be interesting." Lawrence R's face turned ugly, and he cornered her against the wall. "Who gave you the right to gossip?"

“Patient and family? Darcy and I are doing great, I love her. As for you, you will be unemployed tomorrow, you worthless piece of trash!"

‘I love her’ the words lingered for a moment. Winnie's gaze paused for a moment, sarcasm fleeting across her face.

She remained indifferent, stepping back and curling her lips coldly, "I am not your lover. Take a left turn, there's a restroom. Mr. Rodriguez, please hurry."

"That's it, see you next time for your consultation." Winnie said to hurry him out of the office.

Lawrence R's face turned black, he put his hands in his pockets as he walked out. "There wont be a next time, Dream on!" He had to put things in order, frustratedly shouting, as he left.

"Luke." But as soon as he entered the restroom, his body and emotions instantly calmed down.

He took a deep breath and furrowed his brows; he couldn't help but wonder if that damn woman not being by his side these three years was the reason? It must be because he only had her, that's why it affected him so much! How hateful.

Leaning against the wall, the man closed his eyes, and exhaled the smoke from his cigarette, and recalled the way she had completely changed, her eyes profound and cold.

After a moment, he descended to the second floor, with Luke closely following beside him, curious but afraid to ask. Gradually, Lawrence R turned around and coldly said,

"Find out where she has been hiding for the past three years and why she returned to Lymington. Also, why is she working at Alan's hospital?" Luke silently complied, truthfully, when he found out Miss Anderson had returned, he felt somewhat happy.
But before he could reflect on it, Mr. Rodriguez's next statement sentenced her to death, "What kind of doctor can she be? Find a way to revoke her license!" Luke wiped his sweat.

Mr. Rodriguez held a deep grudge against Miss Anderson. In the office upstairs, Winnie watched the man leave and her emotions were difficult to decipher.

A chill enveloped her, causing the assistant who was tidying up equipment to tremble.

"Ms. Anderson?" Seeing her lost in thought for too long, the assistant tentatively called her. Winnie snapped out of her daze, gripping the pen in her hand, feeling somewhat tired, and said,

"There are no more patients. Go take a break." As the door closed, her face grew cold, and she remembered she had fantasized about various scenarios of their reunion.

She never imagined it would be like this today. The moment she saw Lawrence R, she knew Alan's intentions were sinister. She pursed her lips, turned her head, and angrily sent a text message on her phone,

‘Alan, what do you mean by this?’
