Chapter 965 Eliminate Lynn's Whole Family
Winnie shot him a look. "Who's the doctor here, you or me? Just do what I say."
Jeremy was still worried, but considering how much Winnie had helped him uncover Mia's background, he decided to keep quiet.
Jeremy held Olivia in his arms while the butler and the maids took care of Mia. They all headed back to the DeRoss Villa.
Once home, Jeremy went to his own villa first. He gently laid Olivia down, wiped her face and hands, and helped her out of her cumbersome wedding dress. Seeing her fall into a deep sleep, her once rosy cheeks now pale, and her long curls spread out on the pillow, he couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. Could he really have her back? He watched her for a good half hour, unable to get enough.
He kissed her forehead softly before finally leaving.
Mia's room was a makeshift nursery. As an unmarried man, Jeremy had never needed a child's room in his villa. He never expected to suddenly have a three-year-old daughter overnight.
Bringing Mia home shocked the staff, but no one dared to ask questions. They hurriedly prepared a guest room and asked if they should buy toys and decorations.
Jeremy stubbed out his cigarette, a slight smile playing on his lips. "No need. I'll get those myself."
After settling Mia for a nap, he took a shower and changed into a clean suit. When he came out, the butler and his men were waiting for him.
The butler frowned when he didn't see Mia with him.
Jeremy said, "Don't wait here. Go tell my father that I'm redoing the paternity test. Let's see what he has to say then. Also, Mia is napping and isn't up for visitors right now."
The butler hesitated but didn't dare to disobey.
Louis had always favored Jeremy, loving him dearly while trying not to show it too much to Theodosia. Despite Sam's constant troublemaking, Louis turned a blind eye to compensate Theodosia. But his favorite son was undoubtedly Jeremy.
Now that Sam's daughter had become Jeremy's daughter, Louis was feeling a mix of emotions, though he was secretly thrilled.
Last night, while sipping tea, Louis had said, "It's a family scandal, but if she's definitely Jeremy's daughter, I can't oppose him and Olivia anymore. The child needs a home. Thankfully, it's a little girl. If it were a boy, I'd be even happier knowing Jeremy had an heir."
The butler had seen the wrinkles at the corners of Louis's eyes as he smiled. "A boy will come, as long as Mr. DeRoss gets married. Having a son is just a matter of time. I know you're eager for an heir. Now, it's up to you and the relatives to accept Olivia, despite her past."
Mentioning Olivia reminded Louis of the scandal with Sam. It was a family disgrace, and Olivia's reputation was ruined. Asking Jeremy to marry her seemed unfair to him.
Jeremy got into the car, holding a few strands of Mia's hair. He pulled out some of his own hair and placed both in a sealed bag.
"Are you going to the lab yourself?" his assistant asked.
"Yeah, I want to experience that moment firsthand," Jeremy replied, his tone icy.
His assistant, sweating, said, "Mr. DeRoss, you ordered us to take out the Lynn family in Lymington. The bodyguards are already at the Smith Villa, surrounding Lynn's parents and relatives. But Lynn, after you crippled her, has been stuck in that ruin. What should we do now?"
Jeremy's eyes narrowed, his expression cold. He leaned back in his seat, his lean body sinking into the soft cushion. "Treat her wounds just enough so she can walk to the police station. Sam will definitely confess her crimes to save himself. They encroached on Jake's company three years ago. I want to help Olivia get it back. Send the DeRoss Group's legal team to the Smith Group, have the bodyguards bring Noah to the company, and force him to call a shareholders' meeting to step down and change the legal representative."
His assistant was impressed by Jeremy's decisiveness. In Lymington, the DeRoss Group could effortlessly crush a company. The Lynn family had done terrible things, and knowing how much Olivia had suffered, Jeremy had to seek justice for her. It was also the best way to win Olivia back.
"Mr. DeRoss, you're quite something! Even if it's a bit late, at least you've brought the woman and child home."
Jeremy's face darkened, and he kicked the front seat. "Cut the sarcasm and get to work!"
"Got it," his assistant said, laughing as he got out of the car.
Jeremy, still frowning, got into the driver's seat, hit the gas, and sped off.
In the dark, abandoned factory, Lynn's screams echoed. She lay on the damp, dirty floor as a man called a doctor to treat her. "Just do enough so she can walk to the police station. Mr. DeRoss still wants her crippled."
The doctor roughly treated her swollen wrists, causing Lynn to scream in pain. After a quick bandage, the man dragged her out of the factory.
Two police officers were waiting outside. They approached Lynn, showing their badges. "Lynn, you're under arrest for kidnapping a three-year-old girl. Mr. DeRoss reported it last night. Based on the evidence and Sam's partial confession, we also suspect you of involvement in Joshua's murder."
"No, no..." Lynn had known she was doomed when Jeremy broke her limbs, but hadn't she signaled Darcy for help? Darcy had come up with the plan and encouraged her to blackmail Jeremy for a billion dollars. If she failed, Darcy should have used Mia to turn things around. Now, with the police arresting her, it was clear Jeremy had orchestrated it. Had Mia been rescued? Or had Darcy let her go? What had happened?
