Chapter 282 Selling Shares
Mr. Mitchell was the first to express his extreme frustration.
"Miss Ordelia, how can the auction company refuse to sell to you? Now that Triton's assets are continuously frozen and we can't sell our shares, we are in deep debt. You have to help us!"
Darcy pretended to be helpless and said, "I also want to help you, but unfortunately, I can't do much. The truth is, it was Winnie's trick that forced Mr. Powell not to sell Triton to me. Miss Anderson is narrow-minded...Dealing with me would have been enough, but she intentionally wants to force you, the elders of Triton, to death. Sigh!"
"What!" Mr. Mitchell angrily said, "Winnie is behind all this mischief? If she can't have Triton, she wants everyone else to suffer?"
Darcy sighed, adding fuel to the fire, "Yes, and Winnie offended Mr. L. I tried to persuade her, but she insisted. He got so angry and ordered that no one at Lymington take over your shares, so Triton could have a chance..."
Mr. Mitchell looked hopeless, stepping back several paces. Then his veins popped out in anger, "It's all Winnie's fault! Come, let's go teach her a lesson!"
"She must pay the price!"
"Hey, you..." Darcy half-heartedly tried to dissuade them.
Then he crossed his arms and sneered.
Jeffery smiled, "Miss Ordelia, you certainly know how to scheme."
"It would be best if her anger leads to her downfall," Darcy said cunningly.
-
At noon, Winnie was about to make lunch for Oscar when the door was urgently knocked on. Winnie rushed over and opened it.
Suddenly, a slap landed on her face out of nowhere.
"Winnie, you selfish and despicable bitch! Triton, after all, belonged to Grandfather, why did you make us lose everything?"
Mr. Mitchell called a group of people and charged right in.
Mr. Jones pointed at her and cursed, "We are getting old. Three years ago, when Triton was liquidated, we had no other way out. Finally, we hoped Miss Ordelia would buy the company, and with Lawrence R, we could make a profit. But you, you destroyed that deal with your underhanded tactics. We won't let you off!"
Winnie touched her face and paused for a moment, looking at these shareholders. She quickly calmed down.
They knew the address of her apartment and they blamed her, claiming she made them lose everything? They wouldn't let her off?
Winnie almost instantly realized what was going on. She smirked, just as she expected from Darcy's malicious gaze when he left the hotel this morning.
However, she didn't panic. She smiled and asked, "Who told you that I wanted to make you lose everything?"
"Isn't it obvious? You wanted to deal with Miss Ordelia, but it angered Mr. L. He threatened that if he couldn't have Lymington, he would crush our way out. If no one buys our shares, we're stuck on a dead-end road!"
Winnie casually sat down and picked at her ear, "Yes, I couldn't stand Darcy's personal vendetta, sacrificing Triton. I apologize to everyone for that.
As for your shares crashing, don't blame me. In these three years, you had many chances to sell, but you were greedy for profit, hoping to get rich by relying on Lawrence R."
"And yet, you have the nerve to blame us. It's a case of the pot calling the kettle black, isn't it?"
As Mr. Mitchell looked at her, he became furious. She didn't even show any sign of remorse. If he didn't give her a good lesson, he would hold onto his anger.
He made a gesture to the people outside the door, and instantly a few brawlers rushed in. "Tie her up and take her away!"
"What are you doing? Mommy!" Oscar's tiny figure rushed out!
To make the scene more realistic, Winnie didn't tell Oscar the truth. Instead, she blocked her son behind her and gave up struggling.
"If you want to arrest me, shouldn't you let me change my clothes first?"
Mr. Mitchell became annoyed as he realized she couldn't escape. He shook his hand in frustration. Winnie returned to the bedroom and called Manager Nelson, her lips curling. "Manager Nelson, let's advance the plan. Use the $1 billion I gave you to buy all the shares of these shareholders quickly and push the price down to the lowest. Show them the identity of the European royal jewelry, and they will rush to sell."
Manager Nelson suddenly understood why Ms. Anderson threatened Mr. Powell last night, continuing to freeze Triton's assets. The shareholders were getting anxious. Their hearts were no longer invested in Triton. Ms. Anderson had a scheme going on.
After Winnie and her son were taken away by Mr. Mitchell, it alarmed the security guards of the apartment. However, they couldn't stop the irrational shareholders.
-
In the mansion estate, lunch was in progress.
Darcy helped the maid bring the food with her virtuous manners. She looked at Lawrence R and hesitated, "Mr. L, I just heard that Triton's shareholders went to confront Miss Anderson. They are very angry and might resort to violence against her."
Lawrence R paused with his fork and elegantly wiped his lips with a napkin. After a moment, he coldly replied, "She deserves it. In order to deal with you and affect the Triton acquisition, she messed with the interests of those shareholders. Does she think she can get away unharmed?"
Darcy, being kind-hearted, said, "Although that's true, even if she targeted me, I don't want anything bad to happen to her..."
"You're too kind."
Lawrence R looked at her with pity and said, "This incident will teach her a lesson! She needs to know that she can't take down Triton."
Since Winnie came back, she has been making constant moves, whether it's working for Imperial or plotting against him and Darcy, especially last night...
Just the thought of it made Lawrence R's face darken, lacking any sympathy!
"You know I'm a softhearted person, right?" Darcy smiled softly, her eyes fixed on the red marks on his shirt collar. She felt jealous and resentful deep inside.
Luckily, she efficiently used the shareholders to clean up Winnie. That despicable woman must be getting beaten up now!
The thought of it brought great satisfaction...
A group of shareholders threw Winnie into a room.
Warehouse.
Nobody nearby, that's exactly what she wanted.
Mr. Mitchell, drinking his coffee, stared at Winnie and her son, who had fallen to the ground. He said in a ruthless tone, "With what you've done, we can kill you without facing any consequences. But your grandfather and I are friends, so I will spare your life, Winnie. As long as you promise me that you will go and quickly plead with Lawrence R, persuading him not to shut us down. If you agree, you can leave tonight. Otherwise, I can't guarantee that I won't hurt the child!"
He cast a wicked glance at Oscar.
Winnie reached out to protect Oscar, her expression calm, and refused directly, "It's impossible for me to plead with Lawrence R. Give up."
"You!" Mr. Mitchell became angry.
Just then, Lawrence R’s phone rang. He walked a few steps away to answer the call, and then his face changed, showing a surge of excitement.
"Which company are you from? Yes, I hold ten percent of Triton's shares..."
Winnie narrowed her eyes.
Oscar, who hadn't noticed his mother's composure, was frightened by Mr. Mitchell's fierce face.
Listening to their conversation, the old man wanted mommy to plead with that jerk of a father, but mommy refused...
What should they do? He and mommy couldn't be beaten to death here.
Oscar quietly stared at his phone wristband.
He could contact Sidney! Let Sidney find a way to talk to that jerk of a father and let him know that they were in danger.
