Chapter 402 Don't Think I'll Fight for You

Claire smiled and responded, "Miss, you had anticipated everything, and it went smoothly! Today, your people at the hospital found out that Madam Rodriguez had a nosebleed, putting tremendous pressure on Lawrence. He couldn't avoid making a choice. But how could he bear to let go of Winnie?"  Ishara coughed and chuckled, saying, "I suppose they had a heated argument."  She squinted her doe-like eyes at Claire and added, "Do you know why I invited Mr. L to the movies? It was to create some ambiguity; Mr. L is a well-known figure, known by many. There's no need to worry about attracting Winnie. Remember when I fell down in the rain? He was the one who took care of me and brought me to the hospital. I will always be grateful to him for that."
-
"As for the misunderstanding between Daddy and Rock, let's not jump to conclusions. It's best not to make assumptions without knowing the whole story. Now, go to bed, my dear, and know that Daddy loves you very much." With that, Winnie ended the conversation, hoping to ease the tension and confusion in Sidney's young mind.  Sidney pouted in frustration. Rock's cunning nature and ability to charm women weighed heavily on his mind. 'Blame my useless father for all the things he did to hurt Mommy, causing her to overlook his goodness,' he grumbled inwardly as he felt sleep slowly enveloping him.  -

Winnie finally managed to coax her son to sleep.  Lena from next door walked in. The young girl had brought chicken soup and placed it on the table. "Sister, you and Lawrence argued so much that you didn't have dinner. My dad is worried about you."  Winnie realized that she had forgotten about the bread that she was making earlier; she hadn't even put it in the oven. She obediently picked up the bowl.  Lena continued, "Olivia heard about Lawrence's affair with a girl and was really mad. She said she could help you find out who that little slut is!"  Winnie was taken aback. She had glanced briefly at the photo in the afternoon and was too hurt to notice the girl's figure in detail. At this moment, Winnie's fingers stiffened as she swiped back to her phone, coldly taking another look.  That unfamiliar girl, embraced by him, only revealed a small side profile, appearing very young. Despite this limited view, Winnie suddenly narrowed her eyes, feeling that the girl resembled herself a bit. "Winnie, let me see this girl!" Lena came over, annoyed.  Interrupted, Winnie regained her composure silently and put away her phone. She didn't want to worry her family anymore. "It doesn't matter who she is. Lawrence and I have made it clear. We're parting ways from now on."  Lena had nothing to say. After all, Lawrence had really hurt Winnie. She thought it would be best for them to separate. If they were together, it would only be good for the child but not for them as a couple.  "Winnie, Lawrence's men are actively searching for Oscar. He has a strong influence. If they don't give up, they will eventually find some clues. Dad hopes you can stay strong," said Lena, attempting to reassure Winnie.  Winnie nodded, thinking that Lawrence didn't care that much about Oscar. But his men were indeed dispatched, so if there was any news, she would know.  "Oh, by the way," Lena interjected, a thought occurring to her, "Dad mentioned visiting Aunty tomorrow. Perhaps she'll bless Oscar then." "Visit my mom's grave?" Winnie looked up, doubting if that would help.  Lena hesitated a little. In reality, it was George's request, but she couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more behind sending Winnie to the cemetery.  -  The next morning, in a cafe.  Lawrence changed his clothes and sat in the private room with a slightly pale complexion.  As Ishara led Claire and the doctor into the room, Lawrence was gazing absentmindedly out the window. Raindrops on the glass seemed to fall into his icy gaze, adding a touch of coldness and melancholy to his mature and unforgettable face. Ishara had seen this profile before; it was the most beautiful silhouette in the world. His high nose bridge and thin lips, every slight movement of his Adam's apple made the woman's heart race.  "Sir..." the girl coughed as Claire supported her frail body.  Lawrence stood up and casually pulled out a chair for her. "Please, have a seat. May I know the lady's name?"  Ishara curled her lips and said, "Since you have agreed to my conditions, from today onwards, you are my boyfriend. You can call me Ishara!"  Lawrence was taken aback for a moment. He couldn't get into the mood so quickly. Nevertheless, he nodded, clasping his hands on the table, and looked at her with complexity. "Ishara, I can accompany you for one or two years. My condition is that you donate fresh blood for my mother every month and also undergo a bone marrow transplant in about six months. Her condition is deteriorating rapidly, so the timing may be adjusted, and you must be available whenever needed. Can your body handle the loss of 400 ml of blood at once?"
