Chapter 54 Bar Scene of Catching Infidelity
Winnie blushed and pushed her away.
"I've reserved a spot at the Twilight Bar. Today, many classmates and friends have been calling and asking about you. Some are just curious, while others seem genuinely interested. Winnie, it's time you start expanding your social circle."
Winnie understood that she needed to re-establish herself in Lymington and gain acceptance into a social circle.
Before she could contemplate further, Olivia had already taken control of the steering wheel and drove them toward the bar.
In the villa, at seven o'clock, as Taylor returned with Lawrence, Madam Rodriguez rushed over and pursed her lips in surprise. "Lawrence? You've been busy for days and now you're back so early?"
Lawrence scanned the living room and Luke asked with a smile, "Madam Rodriguez, where is Ms. Winnie? She mentioned she would come back early today to attend—"
The man glanced at him, arrogantly seated himself on the couch, and waited. There were no traces of the woman who claimed she would be serving him, nor any signs of her arrival.
"Where is she?" he asked.
"Winnie? She hasn't come back yet," Madam Rodriguez answered, with a puzzled expression.
Taylor chimed in, "Ms. Winnie sent a message saying she's out celebrating."
Luke's lips twitched, a mix of suppressed irritation and amusement on his face. Madam Rodriguez noticed his struggle to hold back laughter and asked, "Luke, what's wrong with you?"
With a cold glare, the man’s gaze swept over Luke. Luke swiftly retreated to the door.
The man's handsome face exuded icy resentment as he grabbed his coat. "Damn woman."
"Hey, where are you going, you brat?" Madam Rodriguez followed him outside.
At the Twilight Bar, Olivia excused herself and went to the restroom.
She hadn't returned for a while and Winnie was about to go check on her when Olivia hurried back, excitedly holding her phone. "Winnie! Guess what I managed to capture?"
Winnie went up to Olivia and on her phone screen was a video of Lily who was pacing outside the entrance of a Presidential Suite at the Imperial Court Hotel.
Her face was flushed with excitement, wearing a cold and determined expression.
The suite's door had the number 088.
Olivia explained, "Your dad, Matthew, was in a foul mood and came here to drown his sorrows. He was already heavily intoxicated when he entered and forgot to close the door!"
Winnie's expression froze.
She knew 088 was a reserved commercial room at the Twilight Bar which her father, Matthew, often used.
In the video, Lily clenched her fists, unbuttoned her clothes, and stormed into the suite as she forcefully slammed the door shut.
Olivia clicked her tongue, with mixed emotions on her face. "You didn't expect this, did you?"
Winnie said, "Lily wouldn’t have known about this room unless she uncovered it. This must be a spur-of-the-moment decision after the news about the Anderson family broke today."
"Lily possesses quite the audacity. If it were me, even with a good figure and well-maintained appearance like my dad..." Olivia trailed off.
Winnie scoffed lightly. "After Ava humiliated her at the Silver Club, Lily's path to wealth and luxury was destroyed. She holds a deep grudge against Ava, but I didn't expect her to be so bold."
Olivia asked while she observed Winnie's demeanor, "Considering Matthew is your dad, and with Lily acting like this, you won't..."
Winnie offered a bitter smile. "What father would willingly harm his daughter, Olivia? But as for Lily…
"I feel like there's something wrong with my background," Winnie said.
Olivia agreed. "If there is something wrong, they wouldn't tell you the truth!"
"That's precisely why I’m seeking revenge. Once I take down the Anderson family one by one, I hope to unveil the truth that I am seeking."
"That's a good thing, and we’re not going to stand in your way!" Olivia laughed, imagining Sophia's dramatic reaction if she ever learned of Winnie’s plans.
At the same time, Winnie didn't know that Daniel was also in the Twilight Bar room.
Ava managed to sneak in unnoticed. Nowadays, her face plastered across tabloids and gossip sites, burned like a brand in the public eye. People would recognize her immediately when she walked on the street.
She covered her face as she entered, relieved to find Daniel alone.
Daniel was drunk and slumped over the table yet still managed to look both decadent and handsome.
Upon realizing there was no woman beside him, Ava breathed a sigh of relief. She promptly approached him, adopting a coy demeanor in an attempt to reconcile and plead.
But before she could say anything, she saw a picture of Winnie on his unlocked phone.
In the picture, Winnie wore an enchanting smile moments before her abduction, portraying a delicate young woman gazing at Daniel.
Ava became enraged and pinched Daniel's arm. "Daniel! How could you still keep her photo? Wake up!"
As he opened his eyes, Daniel ignored Ava. As he looked at the picture of Winnie, a complex and deep emotion flickered across his face. He thought about how radiant she looked at the award ceremony, effortlessly outshining Ava. Daniel knew all too well the talent she possessed.
She had managed to catch Lawrence's attention who had stood up for her and cleared her name. The same man who saved her at the masked ball could possibly be Lawrence.
Daniel couldn't believe it and felt a pang of regret as he reflected on having abandoned Winnie and chosen the worthless Ava back then.
Ava had disgraced him but he was only infatuated with her in bed.
With a forceful shove, Daniel pushed Ava away, grabbed a bottle of alcohol, and drank heavily. "Winnie..."
"Daniel, look closely, I'm Ava. You can't break off our engagement!" Ava’s jealousy and anger grew, she wanted to make Daniel hers but she was pushed away.
Due to the commotion, a group of people looked toward their private room.
Ava had become notorious now, afraid of being attacked by citizens hence she didn't dare to stay and angrily stomped off.
Back at the Anderson family mansion, she collapsed into Sophia's embrace, tears of resentment and frustration streamed down her face. "He's smitten with Winnie. Is he still going through with our engagement, Mom? Why won't that woman just disappear? She's brought nothing but misery upon us. My dreams are shattered because of her, and Dad doesn't even care about us anymore. Where is Dad? Why hasn't he come back?"
It was already 2 a.m., and Sophia didn't know where Matthew had gone. Over the years, she had kept a close eye on him, severing ties with those undesirable individuals he used to associate with.
Tonight, however, Sophia's eyebrows twitched with worry. She wondered where he had gone and he didn't answer any of her calls either.
In the depths of her heart, Winnie harbored a deep hatred for Sophia. Through several years of marriage into the Anderson family, she weathered countless hardships and witnessed her mother and grandfather who were met with tragic fates. In contrast, Sophia had never confronted such dire circumstances before.
But it wasn't over yet. She still had an ace up her sleeve.
At ten o'clock at night, a sleek luxury car parked outside the Twilight Bar.
Luke immediately opened the car door, and a man stepped out. When he saw the sign of the bar, his gaze became even colder.
Winnie's "going out to have fun" turned out to be going to the bar.
Luke offered a silent prayer for Winnie.
Before he took a few steps, Lawrence's gaze fell on the private room by the window. The lively crowd inside was indulging in copious drinks, and amidst them was an enchanting woman boasting a stunningly fair visage.
She was wearing a tight-fitting dress that revealed her beautiful long legs, and she was supporting a drunk Olivia while talking to a man. Her eyes sparkled with a hint of laughter, and her red lips were enchanting.
The man pursed his thin lips in irritation.
Luke silently lowered his gaze.
