Chapter 263 Oscar Deals with Darcy

Inside, the scene was in chaos.

Darcy was lying on the ground, weakly getting up, clutching her bleeding forehead. She walked towards Lawrence R, tears streaming down her face. "Mr. L, it's just a little accident. Don't blame Sidney. He has a volatile temper, but he's not a bad person. I just need some ointment for my forehead."

"Sidney!" Lawrence R glanced at the nonchalant Oscar and felt anger well up inside him.

Remembering how this guy had been unfriendly to Darcy recently, his cold and aloof personality, and the thoughts he kept hidden.

Lawrence R felt a headache coming on and angrily said, "You come forward and explain why you hit your mommy. Just because she accidentally pinched you downstairs, you seek revenge like this?"

Oscar observed his despicable father and sneered. So, his little brother was always misunderstood by this despicable father? As he expected, a jerk who could abandon his mommy must be blind.

Oscar glanced at Darcy, who was acting like an Oscar-winning actress. However, confronting him would not end well.

Oscar immediately stepped forward, still acting innocent with his pouty lips. He shook his head and said, "Dad, I didn't hit Mommy. I love Mommy, why would I hit her?"

Darcy's mouth twitched. This was her well-rehearsed line.

When did this little bastard learn to imitate her like this?

She really couldn't understand. He went to the auction house, and suddenly, he turned into a child.

Lawrence R saw his son at least displaying a reasonable attitude, so he calmed down a bit and pointed at the deep wound on Darcy's forehead, his expression fierce. "Sidney, this is solid evidence. Why do you still try to argue? You have no sense of proportion. If you grow up like this, you will cause trouble. Tonight, I will punish you with solitary confinement."

"What if I told you that Mommy caused this wound herself? Would you believe me?" Oscar walked up, holding his father's hand and blinking his big eyes.

Lawrence R was taken aback, and Darcy's face quickly changed. Fortunately, the man became even angrier. "Sidney, if you've done something wrong and need to take responsibility, then-"
"Take responsibility instead of shirking it. You're a man, and your father taught you that. Have you forgotten?"
"It was really her who caused the accident!" Oscar pitifully defended himself.

"Sidney, even if you insist on accusing mommy like this, mommy won't blame you. After all, you're still young. I raised you, can I still hold grudges against you?" Darcy lovingly crouched down and touched the child's head, her gaze filled with sadness as she glanced at Lawrence R.

A tinge of guilt flashed across the man's face as he took her hand. "Darcy, I know you've suffered a lot in this family. I will punish this kid."

Suddenly, a recorded voice echoed in the air: "What are you doing, you little bastard..."
"Mommy, why are you pressing my head? I can't breathe. Please don't hit me..."

"Who told you to be disobedient and fight back..."
The child's voice pleaded pitifully.

The woman's voice sounded unfamiliar and gloomy to Lawrence R.
His expression changed as he slowly looked at Darcy.

Darcy was stunned, staring at Oscar in disbelief. Since when did this little rascal start recording?
Oscar handed his phone to Lawrence R, looking up with a stubborn expression that revealed his grievances. "I came in with my phone just now because I wanted to play games. I didn't mean to record it. Mommy, please don't blame me. I know I did wrong, but next time, don't lay your hands on me. After all, I'm still a child."

"... " Darcy was too angry to utter a word.
She looked at the little bastard with a strange expression, feeling that he seemed to have changed.

A cold and stern voice came from above, "Darcy, you need to explain. Did you hit him?!"
Darcy looked up and met his sharp, disappointed gaze. Her heart tightened, and she explained in a somewhat flustered manner, "I didn't mean to. Sidney didn't cooperate with me and was mischievous, refusing to take a bath. I was really in a bad mood tonight, and so much has happened..."

She sobbed uncontrollably and rushed into the man's arms, pulling him out, pitifully pleading, "Mr. L, listen to me. You also know that Sidney has always targeted me. It's been a long time of him suppressing me, and I couldn't bear it anymore. But I just lightly touched him, and this child can be cunning!"

Lawrence R couldn't help but furrow his brows. "Did you call him a little bastard?"
In the recorded voice just now, was that gloomy woman, who had always been gentle and patient in front of him? The kind woman?

Lawrence R suddenly had some doubts.

"I spoke without thinking, Mr. L. Have you ever considered how hurt and wronged I've been? In the auction house, Winnie brutally beat me and even showed our marriage certificate, calling me a mistress. Now, debutantes from Lymington and Trento City secretly mock me. Just now, a few debutantes even posted on Facebook to find out about me. I feel so miserable.
Especially Winnie, she insulted you and me in the bathroom, mocking my loneliness. I'm really angry...It's been three years, you said you fell in love with me, but what about your actions? You've always been prioritizing..."

"Oh, I misunderstood the situation. Sidney wasn't listening and was teasing me, just like his birth mother. I acted impulsively..." Lawrence R felt overwhelmed by her crying and couldn't stay mad at her.

Seeing the pitiful look on the woman in front of him, he felt guilty. Winnie's interference and sarcasm tonight also made it difficult for her to hold her head up.

He realized that he was the one who couldn't be affectionate with her, the main culprit.

Lawrence R pressed his forehead and, in the midst of her tears, couldn't bring himself to blame her anymore. He understood that no matter how sincerely she treated Sidney, just looking at Sidney's face would remind her of what Winnie had done to her tonight.

Sighing, he embraced the woman and spoke in a low, hoarse voice, "Even if the child is misbehaving, you shouldn't hit him. I consider you as his mother. If you lose his affection, you'll lose a reliance. You are intelligent, Darcy."

"I know, I know, Mr. L, I'm sorry..." Darcy narrowed her eyes slightly, sensing his leniency.

Mr. L was deeply thoughtful.

She humbly admitted her mistake.

Lawrence R spoke seriously, "Our personal matters should not involve the child. It's my fault, Darcy. I haven't given you what a woman deserves."

"I believe you will recover from your illness soon!"

Darcy hugged him and suddenly said, "Tonight in the bathroom was definitely an accident. I don't think you could have developed feelings for Winnie, unless... did she use some trick on you again? She knows a bit of medicine and three years ago, she tampered with your sleep!"

"..." With her reminder, Lawrence R's eyes darkened. It was indeed possible! After all, this woman was devious and she has completely changed now. She was deliberately toying with him. The thought made Lawrence R even colder.

Seeing that her aim to sow discord had been successful, Darcy finally let out her grievances. She exaggerated, "I have no ill intentions towards Winnie, but it seems that she came back this time to disturb our peace. Mr. L, I'm really afraid she will take you away... just like tonight, she easily won over Rock and Alan and took Triton away."

Seducing men to conspire, huh? Did she think it would be so easy to take back the company?

Lawrence R comforted the woman, "Don't think too much. I care about you now, and I won't let her provoke you!"

Darcy snuggled in his embrace, satisfied. She sought reassurance, "With your words, I feel relieved. I was wrong about Sidney. I'll go apologize to him immediately-"

The woman then walked into the bathroom. Oscar, dressed with the help of the maid, was already ready.

Looking at the woman's insincere apology, he calmly smiled, "Mommy, I'm fine. No matter how hard you hit me, I won't blame you."

"... " Darcy's mouth twitched. What a small scheming bitch.

Oscar glanced at his useless dad, unable to distinguish right from wrong, and obediently curved his lips, "Daddy, I'm tired. I'll go to sleep."

RE carefully checked his son's body because of the sentence he had just said, "Did Mommy accidentally hurt you too much that it doesn't hurt?" "It doesn't hurt, I will protect myself!" Oscar looked at Darcy with a meaningful look and bounced back to the children's room. The mischievous look stunned Darcy. She was surprised and walked to the man's side and said, "Mr. L, don't you think tonight's Sidney is behaving strangely?"
