Chapter 649 Olivia was Taken Away by Lawrence
He stormed out of the ward, yelling at the doctor on his way out.
"Where's Sean?"
"He's in the next building."
Anday led Lawrence to Sean's room.
Sean was awake, but his eyes were blank, and drool dripped from his mouth.
Lawrence had a bad feeling. He walked in and asked, "Sean, when you and Jeremy left the lab that day? Where did you go? Did you keep a copy of the destroyed surveillance footage? What did you use to threaten Jeremy, a chip? Or did you and Mars team up to harm him?"
"Huh? Who are you?" Sean asked, looking confused.
Lawrence's face darkened.
Anday's eyes filled with tears as he looked at Sean, hating himself for not being able to take his place. "Lawrence, you see, Sean is done for. He can't say anything. He can't say anything at all! I must kill Mars!"
Lawrence clenched his fists and left the hospital. "Bryan, go bring Olivia over."
Ray reacted faster. "I know which hospital she's in. I'll go right away!"
In an ordinary hospital, Olivia was quickly taken away, not even having time to settle Mia down.
Ray 'invited' her to a villa. When she opened the door, she saw Lawrence.
Lawrence was sitting on the sofa, cigarette butts littering the floor, his back straight, and his expression cold and stern.
"Lawrence," she said.
"I heard you know about Jeremy. I'm looking for him, and I want you to tell me everything from the beginning."
Lawrence threw away the cigarette butt and stood up.
Olivia frowned. It was clear that Lawrence was deeply worried about Jeremy, his whole demeanor shrouded in a somber aura.
The Rodriguez family was in big trouble, and he was barely holding on, even being accused of kidnapping Winnie.
She had seen it on the news.
Olivia pressed her lips tightly. "Now that I think about it, maybe I dragged Jeremy down. He is in charge of your company's chip launch, making him a target for many. About a week ago, I went to work at Triton Company as usual. When Mia's kindergarten teacher called me, saying Mia had been taken away, I rushed to the kindergarten, finding out that the person who took Mia was sent by Mars. Mia and I were both taken to the outskirts of the city. They beat us, filmed us, and sent the videos to Jeremy. Jeremy came to rescue us that very morning. Later, he met with Mars in a coffee shop, but I don't know what they talked about. Then, Mia and I were released. Jeremy took us to the hospital with a bodyguard around us, then he went back to the Rodriguez Group's lab."
As Olivia spoke, her emotions began to fluctuate.
"But two nights later, while I was lying in the hospital, I suddenly received a call from Jeremy. He said the chip had been stolen by Sean! Sean had installed a timed destruction on the chip data, so Jeremy had to take Sean to retrieve the chip, but Jeremy encountered a major ambush! I heard the sound of gunfire, several shots in a row! I don't know why he called me for help? At that moment, I heard he was alone, all his men were killed. I was desperate and suddenly thought, he called me probably because I'm a hacker who could track his location. I immediately opened my computer to trace the call."
Lawrence's fists tightened, cold sweat dripping down his back. "Where was he last seen?"
Olivia immediately pulled out her laptop. "I found a location. I had just finished stitching up that day, so I couldn't go find him. Now I'm doing data recovery to track it. Do you have a more advanced setup here?"
Lawrence nodded and revealed a dedicated computer room behind the living room.
Olivia walked in and plugged in a USB drive to recover the data.
Ray looked at Lawrence, his voice hoarse. "Jeremy was shot."
"He risked his life for my company's chip." Lawrence buried his head, his long fingers running through his short hair, gritting his teeth. "It's Sean who colluded with Mars. Jeremy is the ninth-generation heir of the DeRoss family, unmatched in skill. It must have been a huge conspiracy set by Mars. Olivia said all of Jeremy's men were killed, so he had no choice but to call her."
"Mr. Rodriguez, Ms. Smith is Mr. DeRoss's last contact. She should be able to find where Mr. DeRoss went missing, so we can find his whereabouts!" Bryan tried to comfort Lawrence.
Meanwhile, Winnie couldn't reach Olivia by phone, so she anxiously went to her hospital, only to find Mia alone by the bed, crying uncontrollably.
Her face turned pale. "Mia, where's your mom?"
"Mommy was taken away by some very fierce men," Mia said, terrified by Ray and his men.
Winnie was very worried. 'Who could it be? She hadn't heard of Olivia offending anyone in Trento City.'
"Mia, don't cry. I will definitely find your mom."
Winnie placed Mia on the bed and took out her phone to call Olivia anxiously again.
Olivia's phone vibrated and fell off the sofa.
Bryan bent down to pick it up, the screen showing the name 'Winnie.' He froze and immediately looked at Lawrence. "Mr. Rodriguez, it's Ms. Anderson calling."
Lawrence's eyes suddenly lifted.
Ray also fell silent.
The pressure in the room instantly plummeted.
Bryan watched Lawrence's Adam's apple move. After several seconds, Lawrence's cold fingers took the phone and slowly pressed the answer button.
"Hello, Olivia, you finally answered. Where are you? Are you safe? Mia said you were taken by bad people. I don't know if she's making it up. Can I come to find you?"
Winnie's clear voice came through the static, sounding like it was from another world.
Lawrence felt a wave of bitterness spread from his heart to his throat, numbing his mouth.
'She came back so quickly. Rock and Elliott must have found her after he had no choice but to reveal her address. Does she never want to see him again, so she came back without a sound?'
"Olivia, why aren't you talking? You said Jeremy was in trouble that day. He's a good person. I'm really worried about him."
"Olivia's not here," Lawrence interrupted hoarsely.
He didn't expect the first thing she'd say would be to praise another man, even if that man was Jeremy.
Winnie was startled into silence.
The static turned into an awkward silence, the cold atmosphere spreading.
