Chapter 64 Truly Together
Just the thought of him being with that woman later... Winnie's heart felt suffocated and uncomfortable. She intensely cared and felt sad. Why should she endure such torment?
She had been avoiding it all along, but now her life was finally on track.
Revenge, defeating Ava and her daughter, and as soon as there was chaos within the Anderson family, once Sophia revealed her true self, she could take them all down. Her life would start anew.
The only misstep was L, this scumbag. He had stirred her heart a few times and now let go to find another woman. Didn't he feel guilty towards her?
Her sadness turned into anger from the depths of her heart. She didn't want to hide anymore! She didn't want to cry for herself while that scumbag enjoyed himself.
Darcy entered the suite and looked at the large bed, her eyes filled with admiration and flicker of affection.
She opened the lingerie she bought, delicately gesturing it on her body. Her eyes were alluring like water, "Put this away nicely."
The female assistant was surprised, "But didn't you say this was just for show?"
"For show?" She chuckled. She didn't. Everything today was genuine to her.
If she didn't seize this opportunity, she wouldn't even get to touch Mr. L's arm. So what if it was just a show? She was one of the actors.
Her almond-shaped eyes lit up with a smile, "I will wear this for him someday, what's the rush!"
She wasn't in a hurry. She had been waiting for so many years, it was just a small detour and surely it would pass.
"Call Mr. L and ask him to come in. The show isn't over yet," Darcy said with a shallow smile, still wanting to enjoy the final 'intimacy'.
At nine o'clock, Winnie rushed out of her room.
She had arranged their room cards herself, so she naturally knew which room it was. Filled with indescribable anger, she stormed to the door of the suite.
She forcefully knocked on the door.
Darcy opened the door, wrapped in a bath towel, her exquisite figure half-covered and her attractive face blushing.
Winnie's heart pricked.
She asked coldly, "Darcy, where's L? Is he in the room?"
Darcy blocked the door and replied; displeased, "Why are you here so late? Mr. L and I are ready to rest. Don't waste everyone's time." She implied with a raised eyebrow.
Winnie felt a lump in her throat and said coldly, "I have something to ask him! Let me through."
"What if I don't let you?" Darcy suddenly provocatively whispered.
Winnie pushed her hand, "Then I won't be polite."
"What are you doing? A maid shouldn't be hitting people? Mr. L is disheveled, I can't let you in..."
Winnie became even angrier, charging in like a bull full of energy. "L, come out!"
The two women quickly engaged in a struggle.
The man in the study finally raised his eyebrows and couldn't help but walk out.
Darcy's expression and appearance changed when she heard his voice. She instantly smiled worriedly and stepped back, saying, "Mrs. L, calm down, be careful of your belly..."
Winnie, in her anger, didn't react at all and instinctively knocked Darcy down.
Darcy let out a pained cry, her hair being pulled by Winnie.
Darcy pleaded with a bitter smile, "Mrs. L, my hair..."
L stood by the door, his expression cold, as he watched the scene. "Winnie, what are you doing?"
Winnie's mind buzzed with anger. "I came to catch an affair! What's wrong?"
"What did you catch?" L approached, released her hand, and Darcy's hair fell loose. She climbed up with a resentful expression.
Winnie then noticed that the man's shirt was clean, and he wasn't wearing a bath towel.
She paused, and the man gave her a meaningful look, then coldly held her hand and said, "You got into a fight? Come with me!"
Winnie followed him into the study with a cold expression.
The door remained open, and the man stared at her stunned little face for a long time.
His thin lips curled inconspicuously. He scolded her as he placed several boxes on the table, "Look at what you've done, what you bought for me, the smallest size? Don't you know my situation?"
Winnie glanced at the boxes, her face turning red, and sarcastically replied, "Who made you have an affair in the marriage?"
He stayed silent for a second and then his serious thin lips curved into a smile. "Did I have one? You viciously attacked my subordinate, humiliated your husband in front of business partners and disrupted my legitimate business trip. Do you know what punishment you deserve?"
Winnie was angry. "What she did was inappropriate too, coming to Hot Spring Resort to harass the boss."
"Watch your mouth." The man walked over, lifted her up, and placed her on the desk, anger in his arms.
Winnie sat on a small box, her face flush with embarrassment.
He helped her remove it with intense black eyes and stared at her infuriated face for a moment.
Then, his thin lips curved into a strong arc, and he smiled, saying, "If I said that there is no lover at all, and I haven't done anything wrong, that everything today was just a show for you to see, what would you say?"
"..." Winnie was stunned, staring at him, her mind turning into a mess.
The man leaned down and exhaled, "Silly, don't you understand? I deliberately provoked you to make you jealous."
"Why? Are you sick, L?" Winnie felt uncontrollable anger, was he playing with her emotions?
The woman's angry eyes glared at him, reflecting his handsome face, confused and unsure, a bit adorable.
The man's Adam's apple twitched, he tugged at his tie, and his long fingers reached her waist.
He held onto her and pulled her close, whispering in a low, magnetic voice, "Then why did you get so angry and distorted when you saw me with another woman, going to the hot springs together, sleeping with her? You couldn't handle it?"
He breathed into her ear. The hot air immediately burned into her soul, her blood.
Winnie trembled all over, her mind and heart been shaken.
Reluctantly, under his questioning, she had to face the changes that had quietly occurred within her.
She felt sour today, almost boiling with bitterness. Feeling sad and upset, many negative emotions erupted when she saw him being intimate with another woman.
Why was this?
"Can't you sort out your feelings for me in your heart? Silly," L gently lifted her chin, his eyes fully in control, dangerous and scorching.
He smirked, "Because you care about and mind me, that's why you're jealous. If I don't provoke you, you wouldn't even admit that you're starting to be interested in me. You want to possess your man!"
"..." Winnie immediately wanted to deny it, but her face turned warm and gradually heated up.
Her eyelashes fluttered anxiously, like butterflies flapping their wings in her heart, disturbing a still pond.
But the answer, after the haze, slowly revealed itself.
Damn it, she really did mind. Today, she completely lost her usual calm and composure. She hated it and didn't want him to betray her.
Her lips were touched by the man. Suddenly, he lowered his head and kissed her deeply with affection.
His thin lips brought her a hot heartbeat and warmth. Winnie was captivated by this man, her eyes flickering.
He looked at her deeply, and then he smiled and said, "Then I'll give you a chance. Should we... try for real?"
Try what? Winnie was a bit shaken by his "try for real."
Suddenly, a knock on the door came from outside, and Darcy's obedient laughter followed, "Hey, Mr. L, Mrs. L, you've kept me waiting for ages!"
Winnie was abruptly pulled back to reality, pushing the man away and getting off the table.
The study door was not closed, and the conversation inside was heard by Darcy.
Feeling the climax approaching, she clenched her teeth slowly. Suddenly, she interrupted them.
