Chapter 834 Disappointment
Jeremy was very clear that he didn't have any romantic feelings for Lynn. Over the past three years, responsibility outweighed affection; he was merely repaying a debt of gratitude to Lynn.
Lynn didn't see him smile; instead, because of Mia in his arms, he actually pushed her away!
She felt a pang of grievance and forced a smile. "Sorry, little one, this is my fiancé. But who are you?"
Olivia watched Lynn's act with cold eyes.
If it weren't for Lynn, how would Sam have known about Mia so quickly and come to take them away?
Olivia was well aware of Lynn's plan.
Now that Lynn had appeared, flaunting the title of Jeremy's fiancée, Olivia quickly woke up from her dream. Whether she liked him or not, whether he was responsible or not, all seemed irrelevant.
She had no intention of getting involved in their relationship.
The dream was over, and she recognized the reality.
She walked forward self-deprecatingly, coldly taking Mia from Jeremy, "Mia, Jeremy has something to do. Let's go!"
"Why are you in such a hurry?" Jeremy's eyes fixed on Olivia's face, dark and unclear.
Mia, with a mischievous look, immediately glared at Lynn with hostility, "Daddy, who is this woman?"
Lynn was startled when she heard Mia call Jeremy "Daddy"!
Could it be that Jeremy had discovered Mia was his biological daughter?
She glanced at Olivia guiltily, afraid her secret would be discovered, and tentatively smiled, "Olivia, is this your daughter? Why do you let your daughter call my fiancé 'Daddy'? Even though you are my sister, I still have to remind you, this is not appropriate. Moreover, I remember, isn't your daughter Sam's..."
"Lynn." Jeremy interrupted her unhappily, explaining, "The child called me that on her own. I felt sorry for her, so I let her be."
Hearing this, Lynn was furious. He had disappeared but wasn't dead, and now he was back.
Why hadn't Jeremy contacted her, his fiancée?
Instead, he was hiding with Olivia, that bitch, and even taking them shopping, looking like a family!
Lynn had always been wary of Olivia because Jeremy always looked at Olivia in a special way!
At this moment, her jealousy felt like hellfire. She cried, grabbing Jeremy's sleeve, "Jeremy, I waited for you in despair. Why didn't you tell me as soon as you came back? These days, because of your disappearance, I couldn't eat or sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw your face."
"I was about to fall ill. But you were with Olivia. How do you think that makes me feel? You clearly promised to marry only me in this lifetime."
Seeing Lynn's tearful face, Jeremy felt a headache coming on.
If she hadn't suddenly run into him today, he would have forgotten about Lynn.
His narrow eyes flickered, and he coldly pulled his hand away, "Lynn, Olivia said you had already returned to Lymington. Besides, I'm not appearing in public right now. Once I handle everything, I'll naturally see you."
Lynn glared at Olivia secretly, wondering what bad things Olivia had said about her to Jeremy!
She wished she could tear Olivia apart and immediately said sarcastically, "Olivia said I went back to Lymington? When you had your accident, I came to find you immediately, but she, knowing everything, refused to give me any information."
"She even drove me back to Lymington. Otherwise, why would I have had no choice but to return? Jeremy, you are the love of my life. Even if you were dead, I wouldn't choose another man."
"Olivia, why can't you stand to see me happy? You've really gone to great lengths to break up Jeremy and me!"
Olivia looked at her pitiful act and almost wanted to laugh out loud.
Did Lynn really think Jeremy was a fool?
Olivia squinted, glancing at the distant man who had been holding Lynn's hand earlier.
He looked like a typical rich guy.
She chuckled, turning her gaze to the silent Jeremy, and asked with interest, "Lynn, if you are so worried about Jeremy, who did you come shopping with today? Wow, bought a lot of brand names, huh? Who paid for them? That man over there?"
"I didn't tell Jeremy that as soon as you heard he was dead, you hid back in Lymington, afraid of being implicated. I wonder, Lynn, which men have you been enjoying yourself with in Lymington these days?"
"You... what nonsense are you talking about?" Lynn didn't expect Olivia to have seen Efren Britton. She hurriedly explained, "Jeremy, that's Mr. Britton. Don't misunderstand! My dad forced me to come here to discuss a business deal with him."
Jeremy stared at Lynn sharply, his eyes cold.
Olivia chuckled, turned her head, and shouted, "Mr. Britton, Lynn says you're just business partners! You're quite generous, buying her so many brand names?"
Efren, hearing this, was visibly uncomfortable.
He wanted to come over, but Lynn immediately signaled him with her eyes. Efren also noticed Jeremy's unusual aura, hesitated, and not wanting to get involved in complicated matters, turned and left with a cold face.
"Jeremy, see, he's just a business partner." Lynn grabbed Jeremy's hand again, glaring at Olivia, "Olivia, have you slandered me enough? I don't want to argue with you anymore. Now, please give Jeremy back to me."
"After all, you're entangled with Jeremy while having Mia. If you parents in Lymington hear about it, you wouldn't want that, would you?"
Olivia's face turned cold, thinking that although her parents weren't from a wealthy family, they still had their pride.
It was as if Lynn had hit a nerve.
She clearly heard Lynn's threat.
But the fact was, Jeremy didn't belong to her; he was Lynn's.
Olivia coldly pressed her lips together, avoiding Jeremy's complex gaze behind his glasses, and resolutely took Mia away, saying, "I never intended to interfere in your relationship. But Mr. DeRoss, I hope you see clearly what kind of person some people really are. So that you won't regret it after getting married. Of course, if you can tolerate your wife's infidelity, then just ignore what I said."
"Olivia!" Jeremy's cold voice called out, his large hand gripping her.
Frowning, he didn't want her to leave.
Olivia looked at him angrily. From the moment Lynn appeared until now, he was clearly flustered. Why should he stand by her side just because of some ambiguous feelings?
She was very disappointed.
She chuckled, "You have Lynn to take care of, so you don't need to worry about us."
"Mommy! So what if Lynn is Daddy's fiancée? I can tell Daddy likes you. Besides, when he was missing and in danger, Lynn didn't risk her life to find him like you did!" Mia deliberately reminded Jeremy loudly.
Jeremy's eyes turned cold. Indeed, in the face of life and death, the one who cared for him was only Olivia.
