Chapter 794 Acting for Each Other

Winnie quickly took off Zachary's headset and whispered, "Oscar, don't let this out, and don't get involved anymore. Do what a kid should do. I will take care of myself. Even if it's dangerous here, Mommy has to stay."

She increasingly suspected that Olivia's disappearance was likely caused by Rock.

But she didn't know exactly what had happened.

To find Olivia, she had to do this.

"Zachary, help me find some very small cameras. If Rock can put them in the villa, so can I," Winnie instructed with a furrowed brow.

Zachary was stunned for a moment, then nodded, "Alright, Ms. Anderson, I'm leaving now. Take care."

As soon as Winnie returned to the living room, Rock came out immediately, his elegant eyes looking behind her, "Did your subordinate leave? It's the first time we have a guest at home, and I wanted to invite him to stay for dinner."

Winnie looked at him and forced a smile, "Just a subordinate. He would feel awkward staying for dinner. Besides, Mr. Harrington, I haven't had your cooking many times myself. How could I let someone else have it?"

Rock was surprised by her smiling face, slightly teasing.

He looked at her intently, "Winnie, you're not mad at me anymore, right?"

He reached out, trying to hold her hand.

Winnie looked at his gentle, handsome face and smiling eyes, yet she felt a chill in her heart.

Thinking back, since she met Rock, his gentle demeanor had never changed. He always seemed to silently wait for her, loyal to love, not caring about gains and losses.

But this 'good man' secretly filled their home with surveillance cameras to monitor her.

The thought made Winnie shudder.

Had Rock changed after three years, or was he always this deeply hidden person three years ago, and she just never noticed?

If Sierra was really killed by him, he could get rid of a woman he had an ambiguous relationship with just like that.

How terrifying was Rock? Did he understand love?

He said he loved her deeply and couldn't lose her.

But if, as Lawrence said, Rock's current patience and waiting were just to get her and then take revenge on her.

The thought made Winnie feel cold to her bones. What would her fate be?

Seeing her not speaking, Rock squinted at her, "Winnie, are you still mad at me? Don't worry, I'll treat you like a princess from now on. I'll come home early from work and cook for you myself."

"I'll treat your family as my own, take care of your family, and care for your subordinates, okay?"

"Mm." Listening to his 'touching words,' Winnie felt only hypocrisy and disgust.

But she had to endure now, had to act, to see who could act better.

She smiled gently and changed the subject, playfully saying, "Is dinner ready? Do you need my help?"

"How could I let you do anything? Just sit here and wait to eat. It'll be ready soon."

Rock walked into the kitchen with deep affection.

He closed the glass door, walked behind the refrigerator, and immediately made a call to his subordinate, "Check if there's an assistant named Zachary at the Blanchet Group."

Winnie never used to bring work home, let alone bring subordinates into the house.

Just a few seconds later, his subordinate replied, "Mr. Harrington, there is indeed an employee named Zachary at the Blanchet Group."

Rock put away his phone, squinting thoughtfully.

That night, after dinner, Winnie walked back to the bedroom and was about to get busy with work when Lawrence suddenly called.

"Winnie, Oscar said you moved back to Rock's place?"

Lawrence's cold voice carried a hint of anger, "He beat you like that, why did you go back?"

"Because he's my husband, and this is my home." Winnie quickly glanced at the outlets in the room, speaking indifferently.

Lawrence's angry breathing came through, "Don't you know that with domestic violence, it's never just once? It's either none or it keeps happening. I won't allow you to get hurt again."

"Lawrence, what a joke. The harm I've suffered is all because of you. Compared to a slap, haven't you hurt me more?" Winnie said in a calm tone.

Lawrence was silent, his heart aching, and after a while, he said hoarsely, "Baby, that was my fault, but don't let your anger put you in danger with someone as vicious as Rock."

"Enough, you don't need to worry about my business." Winnie cut him off, fearing he would say more, and hung up the phone.

Lawrence didn't know why she stayed there.

To avoid revealing anything, she didn't plan to tell him.

On the other side, Lawrence stared coldly at the hung-up phone, quite furious.

Oscar hadn't explained why she went back to Rock's place.

Just last night, Sidney said she planned to divorce Rock. How did she change her mind the next day? Did she still have feelings for Rock?

The thought made Lawrence feel even worse.

His stern face turned ashen.

At that moment, the office door was knocked, and Bryan walked in with a hint of joy, "Mr. Rodriguez, the chairman of NexaCore Group finally responded to your appointment request. He said you could meet at Horizon Tech Hotel tomorrow to discuss cooperation."

"Really?" Lawrence's thick eyebrows raised, a hint of surprise flashing in his sharp eyes.

Since the Camellia Mount banquet, he had been trying to contact Adam, but Adam didn't show up at Angelina's banquet either.

He was confident that his chip technology and proposal could make Adam see the Rodriguez Group in a new light.

But Adam had been noncommittal and refused to meet him, likely for personal reasons.

Unexpectedly, Adam suddenly responded.

"Notify everyone. All senior executives will work overtime tonight to finalize the NexaCore Group technology introduction plan," Lawrence ordered, a spark of life in his cold eyes.

If he could seize this opportunity with NexaCore Group to rise again, he could deal with Rock and pull Winnie out of that vortex.

"By the way," he looked at Bryan, his eyes cold, "I asked you to gather evidence of Rock's collusion with the Peterson Family and his affair with Sierra."

"Mr. Rodriguez, I've found everything. As soon as we release some information, Rock's elegant and hypocritical facade will be exposed to the public," Bryan said.

Lawrence nodded, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

The next day at noon.

Lawrence, accompanied by several senior executives, arrived at Horizon Tech Hotel. Bryan said Adam had checked in here after returning to Trento City.

Bryan had contacted Adam's assistant and reported in a low voice, "Mr. King is in the top-floor business suite, but the assistant's voice on the phone sounded a bit strange to me."

"What's strange?" Lawrence asked, puzzled.

Bryan was also confused, "It just felt familiar, somewhat like Mr. DeRoss's voice."

Jeremy?

Lawrence's cold eyes narrowed.
