Chapter 202 Rejecting Darcy

Second-floor master bedroom.

Lawrence R lifted Darcy's leg and applied medicine to her. His rough hand touched her, causing Darcy to squint her eyes, feeling the warmth on her skin. He exuded a lazy and wicked aura all over his body.

Darcy both longed for and envied it. She couldn't help but test, "Mr. L, what happened tonight? Why did you leave me and Winnie and come back first? You stayed in the room downstairs. Did something happen between you two?"

Lawrence R gently covered the gauze and dismissed the topic, "Darcy, don't think too much."

"How can I not think too much when you make it ambiguous?" Darcy's anger surged. His non-denial was almost an admission that he had been intimate with Winnie again. She suppressed her emotions, feigning helplessness as she hugged him, "Have you forgotten? You promised to get engaged by the end of the month. There are only ten days left until my birthday. You are still entangled with her. I'm scared, Mr. L. Can you please handle the divorce proceedings with her? I don't want our engagement ceremony to be improper..."

Lawrence R suddenly furrowed his brow. The idea of getting engaged by the end of the month was completely triggered by Winnie's indifference tonight. He impulsively agreed in the heat of the moment. He hadn't thought it through and didn't even know that Darcy's birthday was only ten days away. As if waking from a dream, he pinched his brow, feeling annoyed. He perfunctorily replied, "I'll handle the matter."

He gently pulled away from Darcy, wanting to stand up. "Darcy, you shouldn't take a shower today either. Take your medicine and rest early..."

Seeing that he no longer mentioned the engagement at the end of the month, Darcy sensed his hesitation. Her mother was right. He was infatuated with Winnie.

That despicable person's body! So you don't want to waste time with official procedures and marry her with legal documents?

No, she must make him fall in love with her instead.
Mr. L has always been virtuous, except for that one despicable person. He didn't know how many more he had to encounter before that infatuation disappeared.
She quickly stopped him from leaving and weakly fell into his arms, "Mr. L, I'm not used to not taking a bath. Can you carry me to the bathroom and help me clean up a bit?"

Lawrence R frowned, women like cleanliness, which was understandable.
He carried her horizontally towards the bathroom, at that moment, Darcy quickly gestured to Barbara. Barbara gave an ambiguous smile and hurriedly left with the nurse, closing the door behind her.

As Lawrence R put the woman down and was about to call the maid to take care of her, a soft arm suddenly wrapped around his waist.
"Mr. L..."

Lawrence R barely flinched.
Darcy's graceful waist and curves pressed against his back as her hands gently caressed his shirt. Her voice was soft and cajoling, "Mr. L, can you stay in my room tonight?"
He realized what she meant.

Lawrence R's gaze darkened slightly, instinctively rejecting, "Darcy, you are injured, don't think about complicated matters. Rest well."
"How is this a complicated matter, Mr. L?" Darcy coyly walked in front of him,

Darcy pressed against his mature clavicle, "We will inevitably end up like this one day. I've never been with a man before; I don't know what to do. Don't despise my ignorance, I will strive to learn, and I am confident that you will come to like me..."

She wanted to express everything; her purity was incomparable to that despicable Winnie.
Darcy, tender as water, kissed his Adam's apple.
Lawrence R hesitated for a moment, then immediately pushed her away, a natural resistance in his heart.
His eyes were filled with Winnie's panting.

He felt awkward, tightly wringing the woman's wrist in front of him. He coughed and said, "Darcy, I'm not ready yet. Truthfully, I have always regarded you as a sister."
"..." Darcy felt as if she had been doused with cold water!

The sincere words he instinctively uttered caused her great embarrassment. He actually saw her as a sister?

Implied in his words was that intimate affairs were out of the question between siblings.
Her face instantly turned pale, her eyes filled with resentment and unwillingness. But then she changed the subject, "Mr. L, do you dislike my body? I know I only have one kidney left, which makes me different from other women..."

That comment pierced Lawrence R with guilt. She had donated a kidney for her mother.
That's why he agreed to be engaged to her, but he didn't want to rush things,
And he hadn't even thought about touching Darcy.

He felt frustrated inside, so he could only hold her shoulder and softly comfort her, "How could I dislike you? In my eyes, you are as beautiful and complete as any other woman."
Only then did Darcy smile, her gaze lingering as she moved closer, encircling his neck and exhaling, "Then...

"Since that's the case, Mr. L, let's give it a try. After all, our engagement is coming up soon, and I want to give myself to you sooner..."

"Darcy, your current condition doesn't allow it! Don't act foolishly."
Lawrence R pushed her away forcefully.
At that moment, his phone rang from his pants pocket.

"I'll take the call." He visibly breathed a sigh of relief, bypassed her, and walked towards the door. "Jeremy? I'm fine, I'll be there soon."

After hanging up, Lawrence R said, "Darcy, there have been new developments in the case of my mother's kidnapping at the police station. I need to go there. You don't have to wait for me tonight."

Darcy's eyes, originally filled with reluctance, slightly changed.
She had already taken care of the kidnapping case involving that old bitch at the police station. Although Mr. L never gave up investigating, he definitely wouldn't find anything!

Why would Jeremy call him? Jeremy, unlike Ray who she controlled, or Benjamin who was so foolish.
He was a cunning character...
Darcy became uncertain, staring as the man quickly descended the stairs.

Her gaze turned cold, and she closed the door before making a call to Jeffery. "Check what Jeremy has been up to these few days, and also secretly tail the CEO of Imperial Jewelry to the police station. Be careful..."

Lawrence R came downstairs and saw Luke standing by the room door.
He was still holding a bag of medicine, the ointment prescribed by the hospital in the morning.
"What happened? She refuses to open the door?" Lawrence R's face turned slightly cold.

"Yes, Mrs. L locked herself inside the room and ignored everyone," Luke said helplessly.
He didn't know what Imperial Jewelry's CEO had done to Mrs. L again, but judging from the anger in the CEO's eyes at the hot dog stand, it was likely another form of punishment.

Imperial Jewelry's CEO's emotions were too unpredictable now, and he couldn't even control them himself.

Luke sighed, "Mrs. L said that unless it's about her cousin Lena, she doesn't want to see anyone. Her voice sounds heavily congested. I'm a bit worried about Imperial Jewelry's CEO."
"You're worried about her?" Lawrence R narrowed his gaze.

Luke's lips twitched, even he began to doubt Imperial Jewelry's CEO's paranoia.
He tried to explain, "I'm just worried that Miss Anderson is pregnant and an untreated injury could easily lead to infection. Moreover, she seems to have not eaten anything tonight..."
"If she's willing to be sick and hungry, then let her be!"

Lawrence R glanced at the tightly closed door. The frustration of his unfulfilled physical needs made him irritable. This woman kept talking about her cousin every other sentence.

He felt a chill in his heart. If it weren't for her, he wouldn't have impulsively agreed to Darcy's engagement at the end of the month. The man was annoyed. Once at the door, he turned back again, "Tell the nanny to get her something to eat if she's hungry."
Luke's lips twitched again, and he sighed.

Inside the police station, Jeremy had been waiting for a long time.
Lawrence R entered the interrogation room, his brow furrowed. "Have you found anything?"
