Chapter 622 Do You Want Me Dead

Lawrence arched his eyebrows, shifted his gaze to the servant, and instructed, "Didn't you hear what the lady said? Hurry upstairs and fetch all the long dresses for her to select from."

Winnie was left speechless, remarking, "There's no need for that. Just choose one at random!

Winnie had been cold and distant these days, but today she finally took the initiative to make a request. Lawrence felt that maybe she was slowly accepting reality.

In a cheerful mood, Lawrence playfully touched her foot and complimented, "Sweetheart, after soaking up the sun for days, your skin is becoming fairer and more radiant. Just look at this glowing complexion. I'm the only one getting tanned. What's your secret, hmm?

Winnie couldn't be bothered with his affectionate gestures.

"So you like beach dresses, darling? I'll immediately order some," Lawrence continued.

Winnie thought, 'Lawrence could always stay connected to the outside world? Maybe there's even a helicopter on this island.'

However, she needed to find out.

"Lawrence, You mentioned the Rodriguez Group is working on developing chips, and you've been here without working. Aren't you afraid of issues with the chips?" Winnie posed this question, but being perched on his neck, she couldn't observe his expression.

He had a habit of remaining silent on delicate matters.

"What do you want? Should I leave the island and return to the Rodriguez Group so you can escape from here?"

Lawrence's deep voice lowered a couple of degrees.

Winnie was speechless. "Don't worry, you are my top priority at the moment! I have taken a break voluntarily, so you don't need to worry anymore," Lawrence decisively stated. Winnie lowered her eyes.

Upon reaching the cliff on the cruise ship, they were met with the sight of the deep blue Evil Eye glistening in the sunlight, while a gentle breeze smoothed the bay to mirror-like calmness.

Winnie observed a secluded part of nature's beauty, truly mesmerizing and pristine. She knew that if her two sons were with her, they would have found it an unforgettable scene.

The chilling depths of the Evil Eye were daunting to behold, and only a man as daring as Lawrence would dare to venture down into its abyss.

Winnie sat on the beach, her feet in the shallow water, watching him dive into the sea with the grace of a leopard. Suddenly, a surge of hatred swept through Winnie's thoughts as she wished for the sea to engulf him, offering her a chance to escape and reunite with her sons.

She longed to be free from the burden of pregnancy and the constraints of his control. However, a pang of sorrow gripped her heart.

If Lawrence were truly gone, her sons would be left shattered. Despite being a devil, he had always been kind to the children.

Winnie's conflicted expression was visible in the shimmering blue light.

He swam over and pulled her into the water, his large hand holding her waist and keeping her steady on the surface as she panicked.

With a serious and sorrowful tone, he inquired, "Do you want me to die? Darling, I saw it in your eyes just now. Just nod, and I'll swim to the very center."

With that, he released her, his handsome and agile figure truly swimming towards the deepest part of the hole in the middle.

"Lawrence?" Winnie splashed water, thinking he must be crazy!

"Do you want me dead?" he asked with a smile, his gentle eyes filled with the blue of the sea. He was lonely, mysterious, and in control.

Winnie wiped the water off her face and shot back, "It's your choice. Your life doesn't affect me!"

Lawrence felt deflated.

Winnie's eyes flickered in disbelief at his audacity to speak to her in such a manner.

She wiped the water off her face and retorted, "It's your choice. Your life and death are not my concern!" Lawrence's presence sank.

Winnie's eyes flickered again, shocked that he truly dared to do what he did. Gradually, she lost sight of his body in the water's depths. In the innermost part of her being, she didn't dare to swim over.

"Lawrence? I didn't want you dead; I just hate you too much. Lawrence? Come back up. Stop kidding around. Lawrence!" With no sign of him in the water, she screamed in fear.

Out of nowhere, a magnetic presence enveloped her from behind. The man's arm deftly encircled her in the water, lifting her effortlessly and settling her on his sturdy waist. Turning her face to meet his gaze, his eyes as deep as an abyss, he gently lifted her chin and bestowed upon her a tender, romantic kiss.

"I haven't allowed you to conceive and bear my daughter yet. How could I bring myself to die? My love... Are those tears born out of fear? It seems that even in your hatred, you still harbor some care for me. In this world, it's just you and me now. When will you release your animosity?" he whispered, his plea carrying a deep intensity.

With a flushed face, Winnie looked around in bewilderment, realizing that it was only the two of them there. If she didn't flee now, would he gain control over her thoughts? She couldn't bear the thought.

Closing her eyes, Winnie harshly admitted to herself, 'I can't let go of my resentment towards you.' The extended kiss in the sea concluded, and Lawrence carried her back to the shore. Her face remained flushed.

Observing him change his attire in the cool corner, his robust physique exemplified the vitality of a man in his prime. She sensed that he wouldn't go easy on her tonight. She needed to fabricate another injury.

Anxiously glancing at her arm, Winnie sought to conceal the marks left by the razor. She got up, walked to the rocks on the shore, and accidentally fell into the sea, cutting open an old wound on her arm.

Lawrence's expression changed as he glanced over and noticed Winnie. Without hesitation, he rushed over, leaped into the sea, and swam towards her, enveloping her in a tight embrace.

"Winnie! Why were you so careless? The waves could have swept you away!" "I... I just wanted to stand on that rock and see the fish inside," Winnie fibbed.

"You should have told me!" His handsome face paled as he guided her back to shore, checking her wound and tenderly kissing her forehead.

"Your arm is injured! Bodyguard, fetch the doctor." Winnie kept her gaze lowered and remained silent.

After a moment, she realized he was holding her a bit too tightly, almost suffocating her.

Looking up, she was taken aback by the intensity of his concern and worry in his eyes. Lawrence treated her arm with great care, his expression cool and stern as he inquired,

"I only looked away for a moment, and you fell into the water. Did you do it on purpose to harm yourself?" Winnie's heart skipped a beat. Would he suspect her intentions now? Gripping her face firmly, Lawrence's eyes narrowed.

"Don't engage in reckless behavior, don't try to harm yourself to escape me! Do you understand how terrified I was just now? I can't bear to see you in pain, not even for a moment. Do you comprehend?"

Winnie felt a wave of relief wash over her, realizing he believed she had attempted to take her own life, rather than questioning the injury. How could she want to end her life? She simply sought to break free from him!

Yet, as she met his deep, caring gaze, she was torn. Could he truly care about her well-being, despite having Ishara and children?

She hesitated to trust his apparent affection. Later that evening, Winnie used her injury as an excuse to prevent Lawrence from entering the bedroom. However, Lawrence was not one to wait, seizing every opportunity.

Gently lifting her arm and placing it over her head, he chuckled softly and remarked, "You only need to lift your legs, no hands required."

Winnie, fuming with anger and her face flushed, felt helpless and regretful.

She berated herself for choosing to injure her arm, wishing she had opted to cut her leg instead.

That night, she found herself unable to resist or escape, resigned to enduring his actions numbly.

In Trento City, after days of waiting, Jeremy finally brought Sidney to Leo's mansion, where he was reunited with Oscar.

"Oscar, my brother!" Sidney cried out and rushed towards Oscar.
