Chapter 246 Why Is It a Female Doctor?

He tightly clenched his little fist. Though not good with words, he couldn't come up with a rebuttal.

Lawrence R furrowed his brow. Sidney was not good with words and had a cold and reclusive personality. He had always played alone since he was little.

The only person he was willing to talk to was his daddy. The doctor said he was too lonely and had a tendency towards autism. According to Darcy, he wasn't getting along with the other kids in kindergarten and was always fighting.

It really troubled him. If going to a regular class could improve the situation, then they might as well try it.

"Sure, we can do that. Let's listen to your mom."

Sidney eagerly waited for his dad's veto, but his eyes suddenly dimmed. He believed that this woman, who never asked about his true situation, was in cahoots with him.

Only this woman!
He tightened his little fist, got up from his weak little body, and ran to the backyard in a fit of anger.

"If he's not happy here, he should go find his grandma! That little rascal," Lawrence R sighed lightly. He hoped his son would grow up healthy and make more friends.

"Mr. L, don't think too much. You're doing this for his own good. When Sidney grows up a bit, he'll understand."

Darcy naturally understood why the little guy was upset and disappointed. She smiled to herself. She was deliberately sowing discord in the father-son relationship, and it was exactly what she wanted.

That old hag in the backyard had been alive for three years—her luck was really something. But what could this wild child confide in her? Could she even hear him?

Orphans like him could only be bullied. After all, Winnie had a short life. Darcy smirked in her heart. Now, everything was under her control. Even Winnie's uncle was as good as dead, and the Granger family was wiped out.

The Ordelia family no longer had any worries. Once she cured Mr. L's hidden illness, she would be the happiest woman in the world, both physically and mentally.

Lost in her thoughts, she tenderly adjusted the stern tie for the man. "Mr. L, please take a two-hour break. You must go to the hospital."

Lawrence R nodded expressionlessly, not pleased with the request. He strode out with his long legs, simultaneously making a call to the standalone building. "Ask Taylor to feed the young master and give him more food. He'll be going to kindergarten later."

"Grandma, you were right. That woman isn't my mommy. She pinches and slaps me."
In the sickroom of the standalone building, the little guy knelt by his unconscious grandma's bed and complained in a pitiful voice.

Taylor looked at the wound on the back of the young master's hand with sympathy. He was already so skinny, and it was Lawrence R who had raised him in his arms since birth, quite literally.

Mr. Anywhere is fine, but when it comes to my son, there's no doubt he's great. It's just that he trusts that woman, Miss Ordelia, too much.

When Sidney was two years old, he happily called Miss Ordelia "mom." Taylor secretly watched with anxiety.

By the time Sidney turned three and became sensible, Taylor constantly reminded him about his biological mother, Miss Anderson, hoping that he wouldn't forget her!

In addition, Miss Ordelia sometimes used tricks against Sidney, but Taylor secretly exposed her schemes to the child. Sidney was extremely intelligent and immediately understood.

"She used to secretly switch your medicine, Sidney. When your father wasn't around, she would feed you with cold water, making you vomit and have diarrhea. We're living under the same roof now and have to be careful. It took a lot of effort for Taylor to gain your father's trust and not to be dismiss by Miss Ordelia, so I take good care of the old lady."

"What trouble did she cause you?" Taylor asked.

Sidney punched the bed in anger. "She intentionally put me in the regular class, where there are bullies who pick on me. Dad doesn't know."

Taylor felt angry. "Mr. L believes her and handed over your education to her... Your father can't handle everything. It's also my incompetence. It has been three years, and your grandmother still hasn't woken up. If only Mrs. L were here... Sidney, let's endure a bit longer. Your biological mother promised three years ago that she would change your grandmother's medicine. Maybe she will come back soon, and then you will have your own mommy. You won't be bullied by bad women anymore."

Taylor wiped away a tear, feeling desolate. Three years ago, Mrs. L supposedly abandoned her child and ran away, but Taylor didn't believe it! It must be Darcy's doing.

Sidney suddenly looked up with his big black eyes, filled with confusion. Grandma Taylor had always said he had a biological mother, was it true? Why doesn't his father ever mention her, and only say that someone named Darcy is his mother?

If she really exists, where is his biological mother? Does she know she has a little baby? Why doesn't she come and see him?

The little guy pouted, feeling cold and lonely.

At the Hospital.

Winnie arrived at the personnel department early and unexpectedly got promoted to the director of Traditional Chinese Medicine by the hospital director. To welcome her, a small meeting was held.

All the department heads were eagerly observing her, as though they were watching a panda in its new habitat.

"I heard she didn't study traditional Chinese medicine at a prestigious university. Will she be capable? Today's patient is extraordinary!" one employee said.

"But the hospital director said that Ms. Anderson cured epilepsy that couldn't be solved even through brain surgery." Another responded.

"Just based on dry needling?" the first asked, amazed at the idea.

"Just based on dry needling." The second confirmed.

"Is it really that amazing?" People chattered among themselves.

Winnie smiled lightly and nodded. "Regarding nerve-related issues, it is indeed amazing. As for my schedule, I don't have much availability at the moment. I will only take on this specific case, so there's no need to schedule me for daytime consultations."

It was arranged by Alan, and the hospital director dared not object. Not to mention the obvious strength and influence Ms. Anderson had abroad.

Several famous neurological disorders have been cured by this young woman in her twenties.
"Ms. Anderson, your office is on the left side of the second floor."

The male doctors were stunned by Winnie's appearance. The female doctors heard that Winnie’s office was on the second floor and giggled ambiguously.

Winnie didn't understand their intentions until she held the medical records and arrived at the second-floor treatment room. When she saw the words 'Urology' written in bold letters, her lips twitched.

Urology... it does involve a wide range of sensitive nerves.

But she has dealt with it before. With a slight sigh, her face remained unaffected. For the sake of the high consultation fees, she didn't even let her assistant take action.

She personally prepared all the instruments. Glancing at the clock, it was already past 9:30, and the patient was late.

Someone seemed to have mentioned earlier that today's patient was an extraordinary figure, not an ordinary person? Winnie recalled.

That person must have a temper, probably a wealthy young master. Winnie patiently waited.

She walked behind the curtain, tied up her long hair, put on gloves, and once again checked the instruments. At this moment, the door opened—
With steady and sharp footsteps, a man entered slowly. Winnie's back stiffened slightly as she felt a strong aura. The masculine scent was both chilling and yet familiar somehow.

She furrowed her brows slightly not allowing herself to think further, she plugged in the electrotherapy line, and then heard him sit down. Separated by a curtain, the man elegantly lit a cigarette with his long fingers, creating a crisp sound.

Winnie picked up the medical records and opened them. Frowning, she said, "Smoking is not allowed here. Please take off your pants, Mr... "

Her gaze dropped and she suddenly paused on the patient's name. Winnie froze for a moment and slowly lost her voice.

Outside the curtain, the man furrowed his brows as well. Lawrence R's exceptionally handsome face was shrouded in dark clouds. "Luke, why is it a female doctor?!"

With his voice trailing off, Lawrence R carefully recalled the woman's voice just now—hoarse, hoarse with a sense of familiarity that had long been lost on him.

It was a voice etched deep into his memory, tender and soft.

Like a man falling into a deep valley, his face turned cold, freezing inch by inch to his very core, cracking open.

Trembling, Winnie clenched the curtain, and countless emotions exploded in her tightly stretched delicate face. Her fingers stiffened on the curtain, seemingly lacking the courage to draw it open—!
