Chapter 917 Taking Hair

"Mia, pull his hair out?" Mia asked, puzzled. "That sounds tough. What if it hurts him and he gets mad? What if he figures out it's me pulling his hair?"

Winnie had thought about this. Who would dare get close to someone as sharp as Jeremy?

He was incredibly skilled, making it very hard to get his hair.

But Mia was different. Jeremy liked Mia and would let his guard down around her.

In fact, Mia was the best person for the job.

Winnie smiled. "Mia, you're so smart. I'm sure you'll figure it out. Just remember to grab a few strands!

And remember, this is our secret. You can't tell anyone, not even your mom. Got it?"

"Okay, a secret! Your secret mission for me!"

"That's right, Mia. You have to succeed," Winnie gently reminded her.

She was investigating Lynn, and Lynn would soon find out. Once she did, she'd guess that the next step was to redo the paternity test.

Lynn had learned all of Darcy's tricks and had likely built some connections in Lymington over the years. Winnie didn't want any complications with this matter, so it was best to be cautious.

Once the new paternity test results were in, things would be easier.

Then Jeremy, that fool, would regret everything, even getting married!

Winnie frowned. Right now, the most urgent thing was detoxifying Jake's body. If Jeremy refused to help, they'd have to agree to Sam's conditions for Olivia to get the antidote first.

She pondered this as she left the hospital...

At 7 PM, Ray arrived at Lymington Airport.

Mia was with him. He jumped off the plane with Mia in his arms and was surprised to see Benjamin waiting for them. Thinking of someone, his rough eyebrows furrowed as he casually asked, "Weren't you supposed to find her?"

Benjamin was taken aback, knowing exactly who Ray meant by "her."

Benjamin glanced at the night outside the airport, then back at Ray, a cold smirk on his lips. "You still remember you have a wife? No, wait, an ex-wife?"

Thinking of Laura's calm face, her tall figure, her thick hair, and how she rarely smiled, Ray remembered how different she was as a child. Over the years, her smiles had become less frequent and more forced.

When she left the Martin Villa, she took nothing but the few belongings she had brought with her, leaving behind a divorce agreement.

Ray had almost forgotten about the divorce agreement Laura had given him, which he had torn in half.

When Darcy was around, Ray had considered divorcing Laura to pursue his long-time infatuation.

But when Laura really wanted to leave him, he didn't want to let her go. It hurt too much.

Benjamin's presence reminded him of his failed marriage.

Ray snapped back to reality, his expression darkening. He was furious at Benjamin's mockery. "Laura is my wife. As long as we're not divorced, she's still my wife.

Benjamin, I'm telling you that you have no right to go find her no matter where she goes.

"Remember, she's my wife! Don't think I don't know what you're up to. Keep it to yourself. If you dare pursue her, you'll regret it!"

"Ray, you cheated on Laura with Darcy. Clean up your own mess first!" Benjamin shot back, his eyes blazing with anger.

Ray was cold and stern, while Benjamin was young, handsome, and a bit baby-faced.

Benjamin seemed charming and playful but had a fiery temper.

As the two men were about to come to blows, Mia, perched on Ray's shoulder, timidly spoke up, "Mr. Martin, who is this? Why are you fighting as soon as he comes to pick us up?"

"Ignore him. We'll go on our own!" Ray pushed Benjamin aside and shouted, "Where are the car keys?"

Benjamin squinted at the cold Ray and threw the car keys on the ground.

"You think I wanted to pick you up? If Jeremy hadn't gotten into some trouble, I wouldn't have rushed back!" he snapped.

Ray bent down to pick up the keys, his long legs pausing as he turned to glare at Benjamin. "Where did you come back from? Did you find Laura?"

"When she left you and the Martin Villa, she was almost dead from your torment. Do you have the right to ask about her?"

Benjamin refused to answer and delivered a harsh blow.

Ray swallowed hard, stopping in his tracks.

He remembered Laura's lifeless face and empty eyes as she left, not sparing him a glance. His eyes darkened.

Pressing his lips together, he spoke in a low voice, "You think you can hide her forever? I'll find her eventually! I may be busy now, but don't push your luck!"

Benjamin remained silent, feeling it was not worth it for Laura. She was hiding in a dark place, about to give birth, yet she still wanted to have the baby...

But Ray? Without Darcy, Ray might have cared for Laura. However, when it came to choosing between Laura and Darcy, Laura was always the one ignored.

Benjamin didn't know how Laura had endured for over four years as a substitute in the marriage. Finally, her love for Ray had completely faded.

Benjamin had stepped in, hoping to end it all and give Laura the freedom and happiness she deserved. She could never love Ray again.

Benjamin raised an eyebrow. "She gave you the divorce papers. It's over. We're both single. You can't control what I do."

"Don't test my patience! Just wait. I'll have my father arrange a marriage for you tomorrow!" Ray threatened, though he knew he had no leverage. Everyone knew Benjamin liked Laura more than he did.

"Ray, I'll say this now. Even if my father puts a knife to my throat, I'll still say I love Laura and will only marry her!" Benjamin retorted, furious.

Seeing the tension between the two men, Mia quickly intervened, "Mr. Martin, I really want to see Jeremy. Can you guys fight another day? I don't understand what's going on, but it's really confusing."

The two men froze, their faces stiffening as they looked at Mia.
