Chapter 94 Love Hot Dog Stall
Luke left feeling wronged. Winnie rubbed her hands and enjoyed her meal. She first picked up three hot dog buns filled with different flavored sausages and placed them next to him. As she ate, she directed him, "Help me take this one, that one, and that one, and get more sauce."
"Are you a pig?" The man raised his eyebrows, his elegant hands remained still. "Waiter, give this little pig some more hot dogs."
His magnetic and pleasing voice attracted the attention of people nearby. Winnie glared at him, her face turning red with anger. She looked at the couples around them and said, "Look at how other people's boyfriends behave."
She looked over and saw young couples all around, some even students. The boys were feeding the girls sausages, saying things like, "Be careful, sweetie, it's hot. Have some beer, baby." They were all feeding each other.
The more Winnie looked, the more envious she became. Then she looked at the person next to her. A stone-cold statue was a fitting description for him.
Mr. L looked speechlessly at her. He found it hard to believe that Winnie was envious of those girls whose boyfriends, in his opinion, were behaving superficially.
The man, with a cold demeanor, picked up a sausage and put it in her bowl. "Eat."
With a deep, majestic voice, he approached her with a captivating warmth, emitting an incredibly clean and masculine scent.
His fingers were slender and full of strength. Winnie felt her cheeks blushed from his care especially with numerous girls enviously looking on.
Women, by nature, had a touch of vanity. In a relationship, they desired a man who cared for and cherished them. Sensing this hint of affection from Mr. L, she joyfully indulged in her meal.
Luke, unable to suppress his jealousy, returned to the car and walked past the restaurant window. He was left speechless by what unfolded before his eyes.
The person holding a water cup and a tissue, tenderly feeding Ms. Winnie and wiping away the oil stains from her lips, indeed turned out to be their CEO of Imperial Jewelry, Mr. L.
He resembled a devoted wife's servant. Even a prominent CEO like Mr. L had his moments. Luke's hand itched, and he couldn't resist snapping a photo and swiftly sending it to the gossip group, as well as a few of the secretaries' work groups.
"Quick, take a look! Our CEO is eating hot dogs with his wife."
Jeremy responded to the photo, "Wow, I couldn’t believe my eyes." Benjamin followed suit and said, "Mr. L actually eats hot dogs. Wake me up!"
The secretary work group exploded, screaming one after another, "Mr. L and his wife are so in love. Luke, please send more photos."
At this moment, Winnie took a bite of a spicy hotdog and Mr. L warned, "Don't eat it if it's too spicy."
"I also want to drink beer." Winnie pursed her lips.
"Shut up." Mr. L’s stern warning reminded her not to push her luck.
The man carefully picked up a tissue and wiped her red lips. Carelessly, he drew closer and his gaze darkened slightly, staring at her alluring lips.
Winnie looked up suddenly and caught sight of Luke outside the window. He was discreetly taking pictures of them, seemingly sending them to a group. Regardless of which group, she speculated whether Darcy could see it. Her watery eyes shifted, and she coyly remarked, "I want to drink beer. Otherwise, I'll have to opt for something else."
"What?" The man grew impatient.
Suddenly, she pressed her lips against his. Her eyes were soft and charming, her long eyelashes fluttered as she threw herself at him.
The man's gaze intensified, his breathing heavy as he held the back of her head tightly and kissed her forcefully. He intensely stared at her and said, "Drink something else?"
Grasping her slender waist, his mind raced and his blood surged throughout his body. "I didn't expect you to be so seductive, damn it! Right now, I just want to..." Mr. L was unable to finish his sentence from being too aroused.
Winnie's face turned red. She had intentionally been that seductive. Only she knew how embarrassed she was in that moment.
Luke blushed and his heart raced. He quickly took a discreet picture and sent it to the work group.
The secretaries went wild with excitement when they saw the CEO kissed his wife.
Darcy was dealing with some work documents and was about to hand it to one of the secretaries when she suddenly heard screams. She couldn't help but pause and take a look.
She immediately caught wind that something was happening in the secretaries’ group, so she grabbed her phone to take a glimpse of the group chat. To her surprise, there was a photo of Mr. L kissing Winnie, with a hot dog stand in the background.
She was flabbergasted at the sight of Mr. L being at a hot dog stand on the side of the street because only average people went there, not individuals as high in social ranking as Mr. L. It was absolutely not possible. Darcy’s thoughts continued to spiral at the image.
But he evidently made exceptions repeatedly for Winnie. Darcy stared at the photo, clenching her fist tightly. Mr. L looked handsome, and the woman in his arms was subjected to his kiss, making her appear like his lover.
Winnie's eyes appeared slightly narrowed, as if she was smiling at Darcy through the lens. In this moment, Darcy was consumed with jealousy. Winnie got to enjoy the love Mr. L had to give her while Darcy could only stand and watch. She couldn't help but make a phone call to Mr. L.
The phone rang and Winnie caught a glimpse of him taking out his phone which displayed a notification of Darcy's incoming call.
The man glanced at it and nonchalantly chose not to answer the call instead he set the phone aside. At this point, many people in the shop were looking at them and she blushed, hiding herself in his arms and wrinkling his shirt.
The man reluctantly let go with an unsatisfied look in his eyes. Meanwhile, the phone automatically stopped ringing.
Back in her office, Darcy stared at the now silent phone and wondered if Mr. L chose not to answer.
In her mind, she imagined them passionately kissing. She was furious at the thought that Winnie was deliberately showing off to her, asserting her dominance. Darcy reminded herself that Winnie could savor her moments for the time being, but she was determined to make her cry the next day.
Darcy sneered. She was disappointed at herself for letting Mr. L be stolen by this woman. Mr. L was hers and forever hers. 'That vixen, not even that illegitimate child deserved to live,' she thought silently.
Darcy had narrowed her eyes, and her gaze had fallen on her desk, where the document for the Z City construction site project lay—the same project where a worker had died. The worker's family members had caused trouble because Mr. L left in a hurry that night without discussing a solution.
The managers appointed in that project took a firm stance to suppress the news, and now one of the family members of the deceased worker was in Lymington, seeking revenge on Imperial Jewelry's CEO.
Darcy calmly closed the file that was supposed to be reported to Mr. L and fed it into the shredder. Lost in thought, she smiled.
After enjoying a satisfying meal, Winnie returned to the villa and took a comfortable shower, preparing to sleep. The tall man walked in and threw the blanket on the floor, blocking her way.
"Tonight, I want to sleep with you."
"Why?" Winnie's face turned slightly red.
"You ate so much spicy food earlier. I am worried you might get sick so I have to be next to you incase anything happens. Are you still not allowing me to sleep here? I will complain to mother."
"Damn it, how despicable," Winnie muttered under her breath.
Winnie gazed at the man who spoke with a sense of righteousness, appreciating his considerate behavior throughout the evening, including accompanying her to enjoy hot dogs. She reluctantly nodded in agreement, feeling a blush creeping across her cheeks. The man promptly settled into bed, as if anxious she might reconsider. He tenderly reached out to touch her head and advised, "Good girl, use some lip balm to alleviate the swelling."
"Why do you care? It's all because of what you did at the hot dog stand earlier."
Winnie went to find a towel and he grumbled discontentedly, "If the child is born with eczema, I won't spare you."
Winnie smirked, confident it wouldn't be a problem. With her background in medicine, she was well-versed in caring for her body. Her plan for the next day involved indulging in some nourishing foods to replenish herself. Additionally, she made it a habit to take antacids after enjoying spicy and hot dishes.
Her pregnancy wasn't causing her much hardship because she was young and had a healthy body. The only thing currently tormenting her was the morning sickness.
Winnie quietly climbed into bed, and Mr. L immediately pulled her into his embrace.
