Chapter 268 Complaint
Winnie reflects on the challenges Triton has faced in recent years and expresses disappointment that she couldn't protect it. She mentions that Darcy is now acquiring Triton and expresses her concern.
Winnie then contacts Rock to inform him of the situation and tells him that Lawrence R has given Triton to Darcy, a development she had anticipated. When asked about her mood, Winnie's heart warms, as she had long given up on Lawrence R and no longer expected his support. There was no big commotion.
Just Triton, they won't get their hands on it!
"Rock, Darcy, and the auction company's process haven't finished yet. I still have one last chance to get Triton," Winnie said.
"Oh, tell me more," Rock asked, with a hint of a smile. She was prepared for this.
"The auction company's shareholder, you have some business dealings with him, right? So, I'll ask Manager Nelson to do something for me later. You tell her about the shareholder's whereabouts and take care of him. We can make it happen tonight, I'm counting on you," Winnie explained.
"You mean..." Rock paused, slightly surprised. She smiled and said, "Alright! You truly deserve the title of a former businesswoman. You're using these means again."
Indeed, Winnie narrowed her eyes. She understood these tactics well. She used to conduct business in compliance with the law. Now, she didn't want to be bullied anymore. She had become someone who would do whatever it takes to achieve her goals.
Winnie leaned closer to Manager Nelson's ear and whispered, "The auction company's shareholder has a liking for men. You find two clean-cut boys and send them over tonight. Take good care of them and ensure good photos are taken. Give a copy of the pictures to the shareholder right away and keep one for me."
Manager Nelson quickly understood and looked at her with surprise. Three years had passed, but Ms. Anderson had truly changed.
-
Darcy stepped into the elevator, calming down her angry expression. She slapped herself on the cheek and then immediately signaled to Jeffrey.
Understanding her gesture, Jeffrey made a phone call to Lawrence R.
"Hello?" a magnetic and low voice came through.
"Mr. Rodriguez, it's Jeffrey. Miss Ordelia didn't want you to know, but she's being harassed and slapped by Winnie at Triton Company!"
"What?" Lawrence R's face quickly darkened. Winnie dared to lay her hands on Darcy again.
"Today, when Miss Ordelia was about to hold the shareholder meeting, Miss Anderson barged in and caused a scene. Not only did she mock Miss Ordelia publicly, but she also bragged about your private meeting with her last night. It made Miss Ordelia very unhappy. She even used the excuse of the auction company's process to forcefully occupy the CEO position at Triton and ordered Miss Ordelia to leave the company!"
"That damned woman." At her current audacity, she was likely to do something like this.
Lawrence R had just changed his bandages at the hospital, and his abdomen was still hurting. Combined with last night's anger, he wished he could crush that shameless woman.
"Is Darcy alright?" Jeffrey glanced at the composed Darcy and said, "Miss Ordelia got off the elevator alone, her eyes were red. She doesn't want to bother you and asked me not to mention this matter."
Lawrence R couldn't help but sigh. She had always been a resilient woman.
As Darcy stepped out of the elevator, she reached the...
The underground garage and her phone rang.
She forced out two teardrops, suppressing something in her voice and answered with a forced smile, "Mr. L, what's the matter?"
"Darcy, is your face still hurting?"
"You... you already knew..." Darcy pretended to be surprised.
"I told you not to hide anything from me if something's bothering you."
Lawrence R frowned. "Also, last night I just went to ask her what trickery she used. Don't misunderstand."
Darcy replied softly, "Mr. L, I won't believe Winnie's provocations. I only believe in you. I know you will treat me well."
"If she dares to cause trouble for you today, I won't let her off the hook. I'll make sure the auction company handles the procedures tomorrow. Let's see how she can remain as the temporary CEO!"
"Mr. L, you shouldn't force her like this."
"She's gone too far. Sometimes you're too kind, not everyone is like you," Lawrence R said in a cold tone.
Darcy's eyes narrowed, and she vented her anger in the meeting room.
So Winnie is good at speaking now, huh?
Well, she will have a hard time when I report her to Mr. L.
If she wants a fight, that wretched woman is no match for me.
Feeling good, Darcy turned around and walked towards her Ferrari.
Suddenly, her gaze paused and spotted Winnie's white BMW.
She swung her car keys and, with a cold gaze, mercilessly scratched several marks on the front hood of the BMW. Suddenly, there seemed to be a sound from inside the car.
Darcy was stunned for a moment, then approached the front window of the car and squinted inside—
The lighting in the parking lot was too dim, and without interior lights in the car, she could only see a wriggling little head!
Darcy was initially startled but quickly calmed down. However, why would there be a child in Winnie's car?
In a flash, she heard a faint sound of the car door opening.
"Hey, who's there? Stop pretending to be a ghost!" Darcy shouted, inhaling sharply, as she quickly chased after, suspicious.
The car door was on the other side, but when she ran over with her high heels,
all she saw was a small dark silhouette. He suddenly ran into a row of parked cars and disappeared without a trace!
"Sidney...?" Darcy almost blurted out.
That little suit, that exquisitely delicate profile, looked a lot like that little bastard.
How could he be with Winnie?!
Darcy was stunned, quickly searched through several rows of cars but found nothing. He vanished.
"Sidney?" deliberately, she called out again.
On the side of a black Hummer in the pitch-black parking lot, Sidney's weak figure struggled to hide, his cold mouth tightly pursed.
It turned out to be Darcy. She's the one who scratched Mommy's car!
Could it be that he saw her in the company upstairs just now? That's why Mommy told him to hide quickly.
Sidney clenched his fists. He wasn't scared of this woman!
But... if Darcy found him, it would mean that Daddy would soon discover his whereabouts.
No, Sidney thought and quickly concealed himself even more.
On the other side--
Darcy regained his senses and walked to the elevator door where there was a faint light. A sense of unease flashed in his eyes, and he immediately called the maid at the villa.
"Is Sidney at home?"
The maid, Barbara, quickly confirmed upstairs, "Madam, Sidney is at home, in the kids' room!"
"...?" Darcy was puzzled.
Who was that child just now? Or did she simply mistake it?
It's also possible that in the pitch-darkness, it could have been a cat or a dog lurking near Winnie's car.
But a glimmer of doubt still flickered in her heart. The other baby, who fell into the sea with Winnie, had long been presumed dead. The body had been retrieved, so it was impossible for him to be alive.
Darcy pursed her lips; her underground garage was already eerie. She furrowed her brow and glanced around the BMW, which remained quiet.
She hurriedly left.
-
Winnie had gathered Triton's important documents, three years of stagnant cooperation, and various disputes. She quickly remembered that her son was still in the basement.
And Darcy would surely pass through the underground garage when she left.
Her face slightly changed. It would be troublesome if Darcy discovered Oscar.
Winnie immediately ran down to the parking lot, opened the door of the BMW, but Oscar wasn't in the car...
Just as she was about to find someone, a small figure suddenly emerged from beside her. Sidney, pretending to be calm, patted her and said, "Mommy! I was playing hide-and-seek with you."
"...".
Winnie silently rolled her eyes. Her heart was on a rollercoaster ride.
She quickly picked up the child, placed him in the car, and drove out of the garage. Only then did she slightly relax and turned around to inquire, "Didn't I tell you to stay quietly in the car? Why did you get out by yourself?"
It was not to play hide-and-seek with Darcy, successfully avoiding suspicion.
Sidney, with his short legs raised, deliberately changed the subject, "Are you done being busy? Where are we going next?"
"While I was saying that..." Winnie was interrupted by a phone call from Alan.
She rubbed her temples, not surprised. Subtly, she answered, "Do you need something?"
"You're done with Triton, so now it's my turn! Imperial has a cooperation negotiation tonight, and I need you to participate in the bidding. I'll send you the information; get ready," Alan said with an evil smile.
