Chapter 932 Marriage Registration Nullified
Sam was chatting up the store clerk nearby, but quickly turned his attention to the scene.
Olivia's eyes landed on the lone wedding dress left on the rack. It was the simplest design in the store, with the most fabric, but it was clearly outdated and had the fewest embellishments.
Lynn strutted out of the fitting room, her wrist still heavily bandaged, but her mood was unaffected. She swayed her hips confidently as she approached Jeremy, casting a smug glance at Olivia. "Jeremy, you're spoiling me too much! Letting me choose from these million-dollar wedding dresses, and not leaving a single one for Olivia? She's marrying Sam, after all. There's this $30,000 dress left, though it's a bit ugly, but it suits Olivia, don't you think?"
She cozied up to Jeremy, her voice sweet and loud enough for everyone in the store to hear.
Olivia forced herself to suppress the pallor on her face, leaving only an icy coldness.
He was humiliating her, giving Lynn the chance to mock her.
This was his twisted pleasure, his revenge.
Why bring Lynn and her to the same store to choose wedding dresses? Why make things difficult for her?
Olivia stood there, like a cold puppet, saying nothing.
This situation wasn't just humiliating for her.
Sam looked at Jeremy's aloof and unapproachable face, filled with anger.
"Jeremy, what are you doing? My wife needs to pick a wedding dress, too!" Sam walked over with a forced smile. "You've taken all the expensive and beautiful dresses for Lynn. That's not right!"
The word 'wife' struck a nerve with Jeremy!
When he entered the store, he saw Sam hugging and kissing Olivia in the adjacent room, calling her "baby" and "darling," and she accepted Sam's advances, looking like a cheap sellout!
Jeremy stood up abruptly, hands in his pockets, his imposing height making Sam seem shorter and weaker.
Jeremy smirked coldly, looking down at Sam. "Sam, wedding dresses are bought with skill. I've taken all the styles in the store for Lynn because she looks good in them. As for some women, wearing an expensive dress would only make them look ugly! If you're not satisfied, you can go to another store. If you have no objections, there's still one left."
His mocking smile filled Olivia's eyes.
"Yeah, Sam, Jeremy left that one. It's cheap, but it suits Olivia," Lynn said happily, looking at Jeremy's arm.
Jeremy's personal humiliation of Olivia was unexpected.
It seemed he was thoroughly disgusted with Olivia, completely looking down on her.
Lynn felt relieved and proud. At the upcoming wedding, she would be dressed in luxurious attire, elegant and noble, marrying Jeremy. She would definitely outshine Olivia, a single mother marrying Sam, which was already a laughingstock!
"Jeremy, thank you for your love! So many dresses, I'm spoiled for choice," Lynn said coquettishly.
Jeremy pulled his arm away, not even looking at her, his tone indifferent. "Then take them all home and choose slowly."
Jeremy's cold face passed by Olivia, a chill in the air as he walked out.
"I love you, Jeremy! Wait for me, we still need to pick out rings!" Lynn glared at Olivia and quickly followed Jeremy out, swaying her hips.
All the store clerks watched the scene unfold.
Sam felt like Jeremy had slapped him in the face. He wanted to retort but was intimidated by the cold look in Jeremy's eyes. Sam feared Jeremy's power and worried that Jeremy might badmouth him to Louis before the wedding, ruining his chance to get the 5% stake in the DeRoss Group.
He had to endure it for now, cursing inwardly. Once Lynn married Jeremy and they secretly teamed up, he would strike back at Jeremy. When he got the DeRoss family fortune, he would eliminate Jeremy!
The more Sam thought about it, the angrier he became. Unable to vent his frustration, he turned and took it out on Olivia, shoving her. "Still standing here? Your lowly background is why Jeremy looks down on me!"
Olivia sneered at him. "Isn't it because you're weak and have done too many bad things, deserving to be looked down on?"
"Shut up!" Sam glanced at the store clerks and shoved her hard. "I won't spend money on you. A worthless woman, that ugly, conservative dress suits you!"
The dress Jeremy used to humiliate her...
Olivia looked at it with a cold heart. Upon closer inspection, the dress's design was actually elegant and dignified. It wasn't that bad.
But Jeremy used it to mock her, forcing her to wear a cheap dress.
Olivia felt a deep pain in her heart.
She walked over, picked it up, and a mocking smile appeared on her lips. "I don't care about the wedding. As long as you don't feel embarrassed, I'll wear anything."
"Then it's settled! Clerk, pack it up!" Sam waved his hand, impatient to leave.
The clerk packed the dress and had it sent out. "Mr. Sam DeRoss, we'll deliver the dress to you. Do you need to choose rings? We have unique designs from around the world. Mrs. Olivia DeRoss, would you like to take a look?"
Olivia looked coldly at Sam.
Hearing about the unique designs, Sam, afraid of spending money, turned and walked out, threatening Olivia. "Hurry up, we're going to get the marriage license."
At the County office, it was past four in the afternoon, and the office was still open.
The staff watched the couple walk in, the man looking impatient and the woman with a beautiful but sorrowful face. They didn't look like a happy couple getting married; they looked more like enemies.
After going through the procedures, it was time to sign.
The staff looked at the soulless Olivia and couldn't help but ask, "Ms. Smith, are you willingly marrying Mr. DeRoss? Are you both sure about this?"
Olivia held the pen, a tear falling on the pale paper, in the spouse column.
She absurdly wrote her name next to Sam's.
The marriage was fake, but Sam might refuse to divorce her in the future.
Her life was ruined here.
Seeing her hesitate, Sam pressed her hand to sign heavily. "My wife is definitely willing, just a bit of pre-wedding jitters! All signed!"
Olivia glared at him coldly.
Sam grabbed her, whispering angrily, "Don't try anything."
With the marriage certificate in hand, Sam felt relieved and dragged Olivia out.
The sky grew darker, the sunset emerging. Outside the County office, in a distant Rolls-Royce, a man's eyes were filled with deep darkness, watching Sam's BMW drive away.
His pupils were deep and dark.
"Mr. DeRoss?" his subordinate called.
Jeremy got out of the car, dressed in a black shirt and pants, walking coldly towards the County office.
The subordinate caught up, taking a breath. "Mr. DeRoss! Mr. DeRoss... what are you doing?"
Jeremy entered the marriage registration hall, standing with his hands behind his back, looking at the staff. His voice was low and deep. "Remove Olivia's name from Sam's spouse column! Annul the marriage registration, but don't notify anyone."
"Mr. DeRoss?" The staff recognized him. Who in Lymington didn't know Jeremy?
They were shocked.
