Chapter 742 Leaving a Mark
Winnie didn't dare make a peep; if Rock found out she saw Lawrence kissing her, she couldn't even imagine what would happen.
Lawrence watched her, frozen like a statue, unable to move a muscle.
He squinted his eyes, cupped her flushed face with both hands, and kissed her even more passionately.
Lawrence knew he was going overboard.
Every time he tasted her lips, it was like a drug he couldn't quit; once he started, he didn't want to stop.
In the dim light, Lawrence's dangerously sexy voice echoed in Winnie's ears.
Winnie was so nervous she barely dared to breathe. The more she held her breath, the dizzier and weaker she felt.
She had to grab his shirt just to keep from falling over.
In her heart, Winnie was desperately hoping Rock would leave so she could push Lawrence away.
But slowly, she got completely lost in Lawrence's expert kiss.
Winnie felt like she was floating on clouds, her heart racing out of control.
She didn't even notice the voices of Rock and the others fading away outside the study door.
Finally, when the phone rang, cutting through the air, Winnie snapped back to reality.
She quickly pushed Lawrence's burning body away from her!
Caught off guard, Lawrence stumbled back a couple of steps.
He looked at her flushed face as she frantically pulled out her phone.
Seeing Rock's name on the caller ID, Winnie's face went pale. She was too scared to answer and let the phone switch to vibrate. She quickly shoved it back in her bag and stumbled out in her high heels.
"Hold on," Lawrence's husky, lazy voice called from behind.
Winnie was furious, turning back to glare at him, her eyes flashing with anger.
Lawrence smirked and pointed at her neckline. "You sure you wanna run out like that?"
Winnie looked down and saw her dress strap had slipped off her shoulder, exposing a lot of skin.
Her face turned bright red, and seeing his smug expression, she realized what had happened.
Furious, she slapped him hard, but he was so tall she only hit his jaw.
Her teeth chattered slightly. "Jerk, pervert."
"I can't help it with you," Lawrence said, pressing his tongue against the spot where she hit him, looking even more unruly and sexy.
He walked over with his hands in his pockets, propping one hand against the wall by her ear, his eyes burning with heat. "Winnie, I suddenly really want to get better. What if you need me in the future?"
With his words, Winnie's face turned even redder.
If he kissed like this when he was ill, what would he be like when he recovered?
She shivered inside, her expression like she'd been struck by lightning. "Shut up, I'm not interested. Don't waste your time. You're so badly injured, I doubt you'll ever get better."
Lawrence raised an eyebrow, looking helpless. "You didn't say that the other night. You said there was still hope. Were you just trying to make me feel better?"
"Of course I was comforting you. Couldn't you tell?" Winnie shot back, rolling her eyes. "Sometimes you just gotta accept your fate. What's the point of fighting a losing battle?" Her big, blinking eyes made it clear she was talking about his, uh, issues.
Lawrence looked at her mischievous expression and felt an overwhelming urge to pull her into his arms and give her a tight, affectionate squeeze.
Her words stung, but he still managed a wicked smile. "After tasting your sweetness just now, I don't want to accept my fate. I'll fight if I have to."
Winnie was speechless, realizing she'd fallen into his trap again.
She clenched her fists and said coldly, "Even if you get better, don't think about coming after me. I don't love you anymore and will never forgive you. Think about all the crap you've done!"
"Yeah, I've done a lot of bad things, so I guess I need a lifetime to make it up to you." Lawrence smiled faintly. He knew he was shameless, always entangling her.
Since the accident, Lawrence had thought about letting her go, but lately, he was always in a daze. Even when Bob asked him to return to work, he couldn't find the motivation.
In the end, it was her moment of softness that became his salvation, giving him instant motivation.
Besides, Lawrence didn't want to see her have kids with Rock.
Winnie had already taken the pill.
Lawrence gently stroked her long hair. "This is a three-day morning-after pill. Remember not to be with Rock these few days..."
"None of your business." Winnie, usually so composed, was completely provoked by him.
She hadn't slept with Rock yet, so the pill was useless. Three days of effectiveness? She didn't want him to know, lest he get smug.
Winnie mocked, "Rock and I have sex every day. Even if we skip tomorrow and the day after, it's still easy to get pregnant later. Can you stop me every day?"
Lawrence's serene and handsome face instantly turned icy cold.
Even though he had anticipated this and made her take the pill, hearing her say she frequently had sex with Rock still made his heart ache as if it were being hollowed out and bleeding.
"Move aside, or I'll slap you again." Winnie pretended not to see his pain and pushed him away.
She really needed to leave; Rock had called earlier, and she feared he might come back to find her.
"Winnie." Lawrence suddenly called her in a low, hoarse voice.
As she paused, Lawrence quickly walked over, wrapped his arms around her waist, and left a bite mark on her beautiful back.
Winnie suddenly felt his bite and groaned in pain.
She quickly reached back to cover the spot.
Lawrence gently let go, his murky eyes filled with provocation, deep and dangerous. "Go back with my mark. I bet you won't dare let him touch you in the next few days."
Winnie couldn't see the mark, but she could feel the burning pain on her skin.
Winnie flushed pink with embarrassment.
Finally, she couldn't help but start punching and kicking Lawrence. "Lawrence, you bastard."
"Yeah, I admit I'm despicable." He said nonchalantly, his eyes stubborn. "As long as you're not afraid of him finding out, go ahead and have sex with him."
"Shameless." Winnie glared at him with hatred, wishing she could swallow him whole.
"Honey, go on. If you don't leave now, things will get worse." He squinted his long eyes and personally adjusted her shawl, his movements tender.
