Chapter 89 Knowing that You Were Beaten

Jeremy glanced at the woman, his glasses chilled, and impatiently moved aside to leave.
“Mr. DeRoss?' Olivia exclaimed, “Did I do something to offend you? Why are you ignoring me?”

Well, it seemed this woman had completely forgotten. His subordinate beside him dared not laugh. This woman had no shame at all. She almost made Mr. DeRoss lose control. That night, Mr. DeRoss's shirt and belt were all disheveled.

Watching the cold figure walk away, Olivia couldn't help but feel confused. This man exuded an air of sinister ruthlessness that sent shivers down her spine. It was better not to have further contact with him. Olivia quickly left.

Leaning against the wall, Benjamin glanced at the retreating sweet and lovely woman and smirked as he asked Jeremy's subordinate, “Is there something going on between Mr. DeRoss and Ms. Olivia?”

The subordinate burst out laughing. “There’s some connection. Mr. DeRoss took a cold shower.”

Benjamin sneered and gossiped to Jeremy, “Your fiancée has never provoked your impulse, huh? What does Olivia have that makes her special?”

'...' Jeremy glanced at his flirtatious face that constantly smiled and mocked. “Mocking me? Look at yourself. Your beloved woman was stolen by your brother Ray. You still want to indulge yourself? Ray doesn't even love Laura. His crush is...”

At this point, Jeremy smirked with a wicked gleam. Ray was also their brother, but he had a complicated relationship with Mr. L, primarily because Ray was unilaterally infatuated with a girl... The four of them had grown up together since childhood, and Benjamin, who appeared to be flirtatious, was the first one to be smitten by a girl.

Unfortunately, it was Laura...

“When will Ray and Laura's honeymoon end? When will they return from M country?” Jeremy asked.
With a gloomy face, Benjamin said, "I don't know,"

Luke drove the car back to the villa.

Winnie got out of the car and immediately lowered her head to enter the house to change shoes.

The imposing shadow of a man enveloped them, and with one hand in his pocket, he blocked her way on the stairs. Winnie was furious, but he lifted her up effortlessly.

L furrowed his brows and instructed Taylor, "Bring the first aid kit over!"

Winnie was taken aback. "You..."

The man gazed at her intensely. "I already know."

L carried Winnie to the sofa and sat her on his lap. With a gentle motion, he rolled up her sleeve, causing Winnie to stiffen, and at that moment, with watery eyes and biting her lip, Winnie couldn't hold back her tears as his fingers touched her wounds.

Tears, crystalline and fragmented, trickled down the corner of her eyes. L’s composed gaze flustered. He looked up at her in her extreme distress.

"Mrs. L..." he held onto her delicate shoulder and softened inside.
"Don't call me that," Winnie's emotions got the best of her. So, he finally knows.

Her grievances.

"Alright, be good." The man's voice deepened as he inhaled. With a handsome and profound face, he hugged her waist gently, comforting her. The tears on his shirt felt like they pierced his heart. "I know you were beaten in prison that night, it must have hurt, and you were all alone, frightened. I was wrong, alright?"

Winnie nestled against his shoulder and couldn't help biting him hard, crying even harder.

At that moment, Taylor quickly arrived with the medicine box. L patted her trembling back with one hand and took a cotton swab with the other, gently applying medicine to her extensive bruises. His grip was strong, and Winnie, with her fair white skin, winced in pain.

"Does it still hurt?" he asked gently.

"Nonsense..." she grumbled in annoyance. "I have so many bruises all over me."

"I'll take a look later." L said in a hushed tone.

"I don't want you to look." She felt a fire burning inside her. At this moment, though surrounded by his masculine aura, it gradually turned warm and comforting, making it difficult to express her anger.

She pushed away his large hand, causing pain and tears. Annoyed, she acted up. "I don't want you to apply medicine. Where were you when I felt the most pain? You're such a jerk..."

"Alright, I'm bad, and you're good." L pursed his thin lips. Unable to resist any longer, he lifted his chin and kissed her temple, her soft forehead, and the teardrops in her eyes. The atmosphere in the room immediately became chaotic.

Taylor quickly turned away, while the man yearned for those lips, he had missed for several days but didn't dare to be too forward, so he held her hand.

But her hand kept striking his chest, wanting to punish him. It felt like a cat scratching.

At some point, L’s breath became heavy, his muscular chest tightened, and he helplessly grabbed her hand. "I realize my mistake, stop hitting me, or I might have other impulses!"

Winnie cried relentlessly, wide-eyed and confused, until she lowered her head and suddenly understood.

Her face turned crimson. "You..." Even at a time like this, his mind wasn't pure?

She suddenly lifted her foot in an attempt to kick him away.

L’s shirt was luxurious, the collar wide open. His Adam's apple bobbed up and down as he firmly caught hold of her delicate ankle, so soft and jade-like. His eyes narrowed deeply as he took a breath. "It's best not to kick, Mrs. L. Such delicate techniques..."

His heart was on fire from her kicking.

"..." Winnie was both frustrated and embarrassed, her ears turned red, not knowing how to punish him.

"Humph." She angrily lowered her head. He rolled up her small arm, with many bruises on each, and L’s eyes darkened. "Did you see who hit you?"

"Yeah, Ava arranged it." Winnie squinted her eyes, very certain of this.

The man's presence turned cold; his eyes filled with terror. "You told me not to interfere with your affairs, but this time she got you into trouble. You almost lost the baby. I won't let her go."

Winnie felt the change in atmosphere even his breath was terrifying, he didn't understand the grudges between herself and Ava.

But behind this case was Sophia's backer. Winnie carefully thought, with such a lethal move from the start, this backer seemed to hold great animosity towards her, not even inferior to Ava. She wanted to figure out who was behind it all.

Winnie frowned and said, "L, just teach her a lesson. Ava is useful to me."

"Have you calmed down?" The man suddenly asked in a low voice. Winnie looked down at him and he blew gently on her bruises. His features were cold and hard, but when comforting someone, he was unexpectedly like this...

Winnie's heart fluttered, and she gave a reluctant hum. "This small attempt at pleasing me, I haven't forgiven you."

"As if I have forgiven you." The man's gentleness changed, his face stern. Winnie collided with his profound eyes, as if he was waiting for something.

She also knew how to take a step back. Her fluttering eyelashes softened as she grabbed a bit of his shirt. "I... I'm sorry too, I misunderstood that you didn't come to save me."

He stared at her seriously, making Winnie uneasy. Later, his slender hand lightly touched her nose, and his eyes showed deep anger. "Fool, you should trust me more. I care about you, why wouldn't I save you? Use your brain a bit more, who besides me has the ability to release you?"

He cares about her? He said he cares about her... At this moment, Winnie's heart started beating faster, feeling a hint of sweetness.

Maybe she didn't trust him enough. Winnie felt wronged. "I thought you didn't value me. After getting me, you would get tired of me..."

L's face darkened, almost laughing out of anger. "We just started dating, I haven't even slept with you yet, so how could I get tired? Did you donate your emotional intelligence?"
"..." Winnie looked at him, both rogue and masculine.
