Chapter 873 Oscar Looked for Clues

He laughed wickedly and continued to tease her, "Did you think I was going to give you a ring? Feeling pressured and a bit expectant?"

"Expectant? Is there something wrong with your eyes?" He was such a jerk, deliberately messing with her. Did he find it amusing to see her embarrassed?

Winnie blushed and snapped, "Lawrence, you're really good at chasing women, huh? This kind of gift-giving trick hasn't been used in a decade. Aren't you embarrassed? Or do you think I have to like your design?"

Lawrence felt awkward, his face darkening.

Did she really think his methods of chasing women were ineffective?

Why didn't she think so before? Three years ago, when Jeremy suggested a public confession at the plaza, she didn't say it out loud, but she was deeply moved.

Now, did she completely despise him?

Lawrence's ears turned a shade of red. He roughly tossed the sapphire necklace into her hand and said unhappily, "Just take it! Other women would love to have something I personally designed but don't get this treatment."

Winnie recalled the past and spoke bluntly, "Other women don't get this treatment? You personally helped Ishara design a jewelry exhibition plan just to beat me in the competition and win her shares!"

Lawrence was feeling self-sabotage now.

Looking at her face, he coughed awkwardly and held her hand, "Winnie, if I could redo those mistakes, I wish they never happened. It's my fault."

"Enough." Winnie coldly tried to pull her fingers back, "Don't try that on me, it won't work."

"Then what will work on you?"

Unexpectedly, he didn't let go, rubbing her hand, just wanting to bring it to his lips.

He gently kissed the back of her hand. His actions weren't sexual but had a natural dominance and charm.

Winnie's hand felt hot, and she immediately struggled.

He still didn't let go, his thin lips gently brushing against the back of her hand, his eyes fixed on hers. He smiled and said in a low, husky voice, "What do you like to eat, huh? Winnie."

"Lawrence!" Winnie couldn't possibly misunderstand his suddenly darkened gaze.

This damn Lawrence, suddenly talking like this.

He immediately stopped, just kissing the back of her hand made him lose control. He swallowed and said, "I was asking what food you like, don't get the wrong idea. Even if you do, you wouldn't fulfill my wish now, would you? Speaking of which, the doctor said my treatment actually needs your cooperation, using the method I just mentioned."

"Are you done?" Winnie, of course, knew what method he was talking about.

After all, she had been a doctor in the urology department.

Her face turned completely red, watching her two sons happily choosing food, occasionally smiling at her.

And she was stuck here with Lawrence, discussing this damn topic.

She felt utterly humiliated, trapped in his conversational snare, not knowing what to do, "Lawrence, if you say one more word, you won't be eating this meal."

"Okay, I'll shut up." Lawrence knew when to stop, "I didn't say much, just reporting the progress of my treatment. If you don't want to help, I'll have to do it myself, occasionally stimulating it to ensure it works when you need it in the future. I don't really mind, at this age, it's not like I can't control myself."

Didn't she tell him to shut up?

Winnie felt awful, listening to his words, thinking he was a shameless bastard. "You really have the nerve to say you don't mind."

Lawrence replied, "Really, I don't mind. When you're not around, I don't even want to have sex. When you're here, just smelling your scent makes it hard to control myself, even looking at you is impossible."

Winnie finally covered her face and fled to her sons, refusing to engage in any more pointless conversations with him.

Lawrence watched her retreating figure deeply, his heart fluttering. If she were indifferent, she wouldn't run so far.

It seemed Winnie wasn't completely immune to him.

As long as he continued to be proactive, he could win her back.

After dinner, Winnie wanted to take the kids to wash their hands.

Sidney held Winnie's hand, and at this moment, Oscar stayed behind, glancing at Lawrence who was paying the bill, and said, "Mommy, bad daddy offended you just now. I'll go teach him a lesson! You take Sidney to the restroom first."

Winnie admired Oscar.

"Okay." She supported him, thinking Lawrence needed to be disciplined by Oscar.

Once Winnie's figure disappeared, Oscar walked up behind Lawrence and patted his suit pants, "Lawrence!"

"Aren't you calling me Daddy now?" Lawrence turned to look at Oscar, frowning.

"You were rude to Mommy, should I be polite to you?" Oscar's small face was cold.

Lawrence felt a bit uneasy, pretending he hadn't done anything, "Oscar, when was I rude to her?"

"Let me remind you, I may not interfere with you approaching Mommy, but don't be too aggressive, always getting close to her, secretly holding her hand and hugging her waist!"

Wasn't he just getting food with Sidney? His eyes were really sharp!

Lawrence felt a bit embarrassed, needing to maintain his fatherly authority, "Don't always keep an eye on me. Your mommy and I have our ways of interacting as adults. Hugging and holding hands can enhance our feelings! Otherwise, how can I win her back?"

"You just want to force her, don't think I don't know. Mommy doesn't like it."

'She does, 'Lawrence thought to himself, squinting his eyes. Winnie was familiar with his body.

But he couldn't tell Oscar that. The topic needed to end. He glanced at Oscar, "You specifically sent your mommy away, not just to scold me, right?"

They looked at each other.

Oscar walked a few steps away, to an empty hallway in the restaurant.

Lawrence took a long stride and pulled Oscar into his arms, "Speak."

Oscar lowered his voice, becoming serious, "You've already pushed Rock to the brink today, yet he still says nothing. It's not your fault."

Lawrence's deep eyes turned cold, "I have already teamed up with Jeremy to find clues about Ishara. Rock is hiding her whereabouts, probably for some unspeakable purpose. This matter isn't just about the child."

Oscar nodded in agreement, his eyes focused, suddenly saying, "I remember, Ishara started consulting for plastic surgery about a month ago. I don't know what she's up to, but during her pregnancy, it shouldn't be for beauty. I've also followed her to several hospitals."

"Plastic surgery?" Lawrence frowned suddenly, "Oscar, tell me the hospitals she visited, we'll look for clues!"

"I came to tell you this, maybe we can find out what she and Rock are plotting. That's why she needs plastic surgery."

Lawrence nodded, noticing Winnie coming out with Sidney, and immediately stopped the conversation, "No more talking, contact me privately."
