Chapter 601 Oscar Meets Lawrence

"Indeed, that's great! But I can't wait to marry Winnie. Will Carlos forgive me?" Rock smiled softly and embarrassedly.

Winnie, concerned about her father, looked toward the operating room and calmly said, "I believe Dad will be happy for me, too."

"Winnie, Carlos is out!" Rock immediately stepped forward, giving the doctors specific instructions and presenting them with gifts of appreciation, asking them to take good care of Carlos.

Olivia watched him bustling around, feeling a bit complex. She playfully teased Winnie, "Rock acts like he's your husband, but he does handle things with care. By the way, we're heading back to Lymington tomorrow, right? You still need to try on wedding dresses, and you should inform some of your friends from Lymington, especially Laura."

Winnie nodded as she said, "This evening, I'll be liaising with Manager Nelson and Lysander to sort out everything on the Trento City end."

Olivia said, "Great! I really miss Lymington. Trento City feels like a luxurious crystal cage without human warmth. But... about Mrs. Rodriguez, you won't be sending her an invitation, will you?"

Winnie hesitated and answered, "No, I won't. She should rest."

Olivia sighed, "Mia insists on inviting Jeremy, but I dare not send him an invitation! It's probably best not to tell them the wedding date. I heard Lawrence has been abroad for over ten days and hasn't returned. You should be able to relax now."

Winnie fell silent for a moment, then smiled and asked, "Have you chosen your bridesmaid dress?"

Olivia understood that she wanted to let go of Lawrence completely. She chuckled and blinked, "Anyway, I'm not the main character. It doesn't matter what I wear. I'll ask Laura for her opinion tonight!"

Lawrence returned to the United States on August 1st in the afternoon. His private plane landed directly on the spacious runway of the Rodriguez Group, with the entire EWM R&D team accompanying him.

Lawrence, accompanied by the team leader and subordinates, walked into the president's office of the Rodriguez Group.

The group meeting lasted until 8 p.m.

EWM, signed over to the Rodriguez Group, was now the most anticipated intelligent chipset to go public. It boasted cutting-edge global smart systems. Once it went public, it meant that the Rodriguez family could potentially become the wealthiest family globally.

Bob was greatly impacted by the advancements of EWM. In his role as chairman, he personally attended the meeting.

After the meeting, the EWM R&D team entered the laboratory specially prepared for them.

One-third of the chip's development process would be completed at the Rodriguez Group. The most critical part had been handled at Dreamland.

At 10 o'clock, Lawrence wrapped up the meeting with his father, Bob, and headed back to his own apartment.

For the past half month, Jeremy had been taking care of Mrs. Rodriguez.

Ten days ago, Mrs. Rodriguez was discharged from the hospital, and Jeremy helped settle her into the apartment.

Upon Lawrence's return, he saw his mother.

Over the past few days, his mother, who had recovered well, prepared dinner for him to comfort his troubled heart.

However, his heart remained cold and restless.

There was no expression on Lawrence's face.

Looking at her son in this state, Mrs. Rodriguez felt anxious. He was always inscrutable and emotionless on the outside.

Mrs. Rodriguez couldn't bring herself to mention the fact that Winnie would be getting married tomorrow, even though the thought crossed her mind multiple times.

'Did Lawrence know?' Mrs. Rodriguez thought to herself.

No one around would dare to tell him, but Mrs. Rodriguez felt he must know. So, he can hardly eat and has been behaving like a work machine.

Mrs. Rodriguez walked into the kitchen. After a moment, she came out.

Seeing Lawrence had barely eaten, she could hardly hold back and spoke softly, "Lawrence, you look tired. Maybe you should go to bed early."

"Goodnight, Mother," Lawrence said.

The man stood up tall, looking much thinner, with a strong and visible bone structure beneath his shirt.

"Lawrence..." Mrs. Rodriguez suddenly called out.

Lawrence's thin lips remained calm, his demeanor composed. He asked, "Mother, is there something else?"

"Nothing... Lawrence, try to move on," Mrs. Rodriguez said.

Lawrence paused for a moment, then smiled faintly without responding.

The bedroom door closed.

Unable to contain herself, Mrs. Rodriguez sent a text to her grandson, Sidney.

Mrs. Rodriguez: [Sidney, how are you in Lymington? Your dad is back.]

Receiving the message, Sidney's cold eyes gradually reddened.

Mom wasn't home; Miss Smith took Mom to a singles party. He was with Elliott.

Mom seemed quite happy as she was smiling.

'Dad finally returned to the country?'

He thought his dad would avoid his Mom's wedding like a coward. But his Dad was never that kind of man. He was unyielding.

'What would he do?'

At five in the morning, Lawrence couldn't sleep.

His bloodshot eyes saw a text message on his phone from an unknown number. It read: [Lawrence, I'm Oscar. I want to meet you.]

The dawn's light peeked over the horizon, casting a pale glow into Lawrence's deep eyes. He stared at the message for several seconds, then abruptly got up from the bed.

His jaw clenched, he called Leo, "Go check on Oscar. See if he is still awake."

Leo was startled by his low voice.

A few minutes later, Lawrence got his answer.

Mrs. Rodriguez, half-asleep and drowsy, heard a knock on the door of her room.

She slipped on a coat and made her way to the door, cautiously opening it to find her son standing tall and imposing. His hand was casually tucked in his pocket, his brows furrowed in a stern expression, although she could tell that his mood wasn't necessarily sour.

Mrs. Rodriguez wondered why he was up so early.

'Did he find out that Winnie was getting married in Lymington today?' Mrs. Rodriguez thought.

"Lawrence?" She asked.

Lawrence spoke, "Are you feeling well? If you can, get dressed and freshen up. I'll take you to meet someone."

"Whom?" Mrs. Rodriguez looked at his calm and profound expression, her heart pounding for some reason.

Around a quarter past six, a Rolls-Royce was parked outside Leo's villa.

Leo hastily dressed and emerged from the bedroom, anxiously waiting at the bottom of the stairs.

Lawrence stepped out of the car, and beside him was a middle-aged woman.

Lawrence got straight to the point. "Is he in his room?"

Leo nodded and answered, "Yes, I just checked on him."

"How is he doing?" Lawrence's cold voice betrayed excitement. "Does he recognize me?"

Leo internally rolled his eyes as he observed Oscar's calm and rational demeanor. "Why did he suddenly decide to contact his father for an unknown reason?" Leo pondered.
