Chapter 247 Doctor's Visit.

With a loud 'thud,' the curtain was forcefully pulled open by the man's large hand! Lawrence R's gaze met the woman's delicate and clear face, and he was momentarily stunned.

After a few seconds of darkness and confusion, a piercing cold light filled his eyes!

Winnie quickly pulled her hand out of his accidental grip and stared at his face with cold almond-shaped eyes, showing no hint of emotion.

Three years seemed to have only made this man more mature and handsome. His chiseled features were a testament to his experiences, making him increasingly unfathomable and intimidating, with his profound sense of dignity ever present.

But her legs chose this moment to act up, suffering from the cold poison, both her throat, and her legs began to ache in an instant.

The pain made Winnie's scalp tingle, and her cherry-like lips were tightly bitten. Lawrence R locked his gaze on her, feeling the same mix of raw emotions.

That night Sidney was abandoned by this woman, as for the other child, he watched over the small corpse in the morgue by himself, three years ago.

The man stood up in shock and swiftly grabbed the woman by her neck, his imposing figure forcing her against the instrument.

The anger that burned within him finally finding the object of his rage, "I knew you didn't die. How dare you appear in front of me? You're seeking death." He shouted.

His fingers reflecting his thoughts and mercilessly tightening their grip.

Winnie coughed quickly, but smiled and looked at him with incredulous irony. How audacious of him to accuse her, of being a venomous and treacherous woman. He who had left everything they had together for his mistress.

Her eyes filled with cold indifference as she raised her hand and executed a reversal hold. With a gentle twist of her slender neck, she effortlessly freed herself from his grasp.

Leaning her long legs against the table behind her, pointing her slender heel at his vital point, she raised an eyebrow and asked, "Mr. L, what are you talking about? Do I know you?"

Lawrence R's pupils dilated, he felt tense, and he stared at her with a hint of uncertainty. This woman's face was one he knew even if it turned to ashes.

Compared to three years ago, her beauty was even more stunning, her fair skin translucent as if she had suffered a major illness. Her facial features remained exquisite, her long hair now curled, exuding a cold shade of light brown, both enchanting and icy.

However, her eyes had changed.

Before... they were tender, cunning, and adorable. When she looked at him, they revealed love and adoration.

Now, those pale eyes no longer carried a trace of him. A sense of restless annoyance filled his heart.

He forced himself to ignore it and firmly grasped her chin,

"Stop playing games with me, you despicable woman. I won't waste my words on you. What's your new purpose for shamelessly returning three years later? To extort money, to deliberately pose as a doctor to seduce me? Luke!"

"Drag her out and give her an on-the-spot execution!" He demanded. He despised her for everything that happened three years ago, his eyes showed no ripple of emotion.

Luke pushed the door open a little and was shocked when he saw Winnie's face. "Mrs. L...!"

Winnie walked to the door gave Luke a casual smile and forcefully closed it, locking it as she turned. Turning around, she smirked at the enraged man and casually flipped through the medical records.

"Seduce you? Mr. L, you greatly overestimate yourself. It says here that you've had a certain illness for a long time. I don't believe I possess such a formidable charm as to cure it with my presence."

"..."

Damn it, he hadn't seen this woman in three years, yet she had become so eloquent and even vulgar.

Her eyes were lively yet icy, as if she had lost her heart. Now that he had really looked at her again.

She was dressed in a white lab coat, her long hair casually tied up with a pen, a strand softly brushed against her oval face.

Standing by the instruments, she faced the towering Lawrence R and gestured with an electrical wire, "Sit down, take off your shirt and pants."

Lawrence R's veins throbbed as he looked at her composed and familiar appearance. He felt that this woman was both familiar and yet strange at the same time, as if reborn somehow.

He pressed his temple and arrogantly made a call, "Who is the dean of this hospital? Tell him to come over and immediately dismiss this unknown woman!" Lawrence demanded.

Suddenly, the woman's soft fingers snatched the phone from his hand.

Their skin briefly touched, and in that instant as if something deep within him was ignited after a long slumber, the fragrance of the woman intertwined with... temperature of the room.

Instantly turned into an electric current that surged through out Lawrence R's entire body, making his scalp tingle and his limbs go numb. What was that he thought trying not to appear affected.
He stiffened, and Winnie hung up the phone and tossed it onto the table.

She crossed her arms delicately and said coldly, "I'm sorry, Mr. L, but this hospital belongs to the Rodriguez family, and the Imperial Group. I'm afraid you don't have the authority to dismiss me from my position. Did you even bother to check the hospital before coming for treatment?"

This is Alan's hospital? As realization dawned on him, Lawrence R's dark eyes narrowed.

He didn't think much of it this morning. As Darcy asked him to come, he came assuming that she had done the necessary checks, Lawrence R's dark eyes narrowed.

Raising an eyebrow, the woman spoke in a very business-like tone, "Please have a seat and cooperate with my examination."

"I'm not sick. Who are you to call yourself a doctor? Get out of here." Lawrence left with no choice defended.

"I see your temples are dark and your eyes have turned blue. You seem a bit weak. What? Did you get dumped by Miss Ordelia after three years of being in love? That's quite pitiful." Winnie said in an arrogant manner, without any consideration of his feelings.

Leaning against the table, she casually continued to mock while studying the medical records.

The man's cigarette suddenly stopped halfway as the veins on his forehead throbbed. He wanted to see something different from her indifferent face.

Doesn't she feel any disgust in her heart when saying such things? It seemed not. She acted as if it had nothing to do with her.

As anger surged within him, he forcefully reached out clasped her waist with his large hand holding the cigarette.

Beneath the white coat, that slender waist still had the same charm as before, bewitching and tantalizing.

Her eyes flickered, and he unconsciously gulped, disgusted by the grip on her.

"You pretended not to know just now. And now suddenly you recognize me? I find every word you say, as a woman who tells nothing but lies, repulsive. Get out, get out of Lymington, or I'll tear you to pieces!"

Winnie didn't know where this hatred in his eyes came from.

Most likely, when she was "dead with no evidence," who knows what Darcy had fed him?

A brainless jerk. She had told herself she had already let it go, but now recalling everything, her heart still convulsed.

She reached out and touched the large hand holding her waist trying to release it.

"Is it really that important to acknowledge or not? Just like that last night three years ago, I finally realized who you are, Mr. Rodriguez."

As her words fell, her palm used a delicate force to bend back his hand, catching him off guard as he took two steps back.

Lawrence R squinted at the woman.

In the three years they hadn't seen each other, she had actually learned some martial arts technique?

The man gracefully twisted his wrist releasing the tension he felt and sneered at her as he spoke,

"You have the nerve to bite back? How you treated me and the child that night three years ago, I can never forget. Since you've come back, don't you dare leave again, Winnie. I will make you wish you were dead."

During these desolate three years for Lawrence R, if it weren't for his son and Darcy, he didn't know how he would have survived.

Winnie clenched her fist secretly. It seemed that Darcy had successfully brainwashed this bastard.

I will make you pay a heavy price once again, do you know, jerk? Her thoughts of revenge overtook her.

Her face remained calm and unmoved as she opened her hand, displaying the composed and indifferent demeanor of a doctor. She glanced at the time and said,

"Your diagnosis can wait. We have run out of time today. Please come for your appointment tomorrow."

"It's not cheap, do you really want to waste it on reminiscing instead of studying how to treat the illness?" Winnie said the tone of indifference evident in her voice.

"... " The man's lips curled slightly as he looked at her maturity with a touch of charm.
Her lazy and indifferent appearance was quite inviting. Winnie broke his train of thought as she spoke.

"I'm sorry, my consultation time is precious. If Mr. L has any objections to the doctor, then find a different one. Assistant, arrange my next patient to come in!"

"You still have another patient?" Lawrence R sat in the chair, his gaze dark as he asked...

Winnie glanced at his crossed long legs, his pants straight without a wrinkle, his shirt hugging his sturdy body.

That face became even more perfect with time, exuding a cold and mature aura. She smirked, unaffected.

"Of course, the director of the male department charges a high consultation fee. Don't waste my time earning money, Mr. Rodriguez."

The two words ‘male department’ immediately struck a nerve in Lawrence R. He didn't know why the hell he cared about it, but he did and something felt wrong.

He stood up aggressively, grabbed her desk, gritted his teeth, and threatened,

"Wretched woman, do you enjoy examining men so much? I warn you, Winnie, we haven't gone to the County office to get a divorce certificate yet. Legally, you are still my wife. Don't embarrass me publicly. Dare to examine other men and see what happens!"
