Chapter 771 Angelina's Confession

"You must be wondering, who let me in, right?" Angela was so arrogant, looking coldly at her, "Do you think that with Ishara's support gone, I can't find someone else? No, I've met Ms. Harper, and we get along quite well. Winnie, don't get too cocky. Ishara hasn't been pushed out by you yet, she's just biding her time."

Winnie gave her a cold look, "If you came to tell me all this, then don't waste my time. Your uncle Carlos has woken up, and he will soon know that Ishara is a bastard, not his own daughter. What do you think Ishara can rely on to return to the Blanchet Group?"

Angela clenched her wine glass in anger.

Winnie looked at her coldly, a hint of understanding in her heart, "You said you befriended Angelina, let me guess what you relied on. You probably claimed to be my cousin and traded my information for Angelina's favor, right?"

Angela's face changed slightly, surprised that Winnie had guessed it, her face turning red.

She warned fiercely, "Now Angelina is my good friend. Winnie, you don't need me to say much. You've been a despicable person, first competing with Ishara for Mr. Rodriguez, now that you're married, can't you just settle down? I warn you, Lawrence has caught Angelina's eye, stay away from Lawrence, you old woman."

This wasn't the first time Angela had insulted her, even though Angela was only a couple of years younger. Where did she get the courage from?

Winnie lazily swirled her wine glass with a smile, "Well, I've been married twice, you haven't even found a husband yet. Actually, we could find a gentleman to ask, to see who's really old."

"Angela, stop focusing on being someone else's lackey all the time, take some time to think about your looks. At twenty-three, you look older than me. Otherwise, why aren't there any rich young men coming to meet you tonight?"

This hit a nerve with Angela, she wasn't as attractive as Melanie and Ishara, and she had been trying hard to attract rich young men, but whether it was Bentley or others, none of them were interested in her.

"Boasting about being married twice, Winnie, you have no shame! Using your looks to seduce men everywhere, marrying Rock, then flirting with Lawrence and Bentley, you're simply despicable."

"Ms. Harper is the future vice president's daughter, let's see how she deals with you." After saying that, Angela glared at her fiercely and stormed off.

Winnie, unfazed, squinted her eyes, took a sip of juice, but still, glanced in Angelina's direction, feeling a bit annoyed.

She wasn't annoyed with Angela, but with Lawrence, that bastard, attracting women and making enemies for her, completely unaware, mingling with Angelina, a young girl not to be trifled with.

Divorced and still causing trouble for her.

Meanwhile, Angela, in a fit of anger, ran back to Angelina to badmouth Winnie, "Angelina, I've always said that Winnie is so despicable. I told her to stay away from Mr. Rodriguez, and she mocked me. I'm your friend now, she's underestimating your status. You have to teach her a lesson."

Angelina's face darkened, pondering, "How should we teach her a lesson? She's Bentley's friend and also the heiress of the Blanchet Group."

"What Blanchet Group heiress? Carlos has just woken up, the Blanchet Group is in a precarious situation now. Besides, she's just a casual friend of Mr. Jenkins, and you're Mr. Jenkins's cousin, no need to worry."

When Angelina narrowed her eyes, she saw that Lawrence was already looking impatient, turning to leave the pool party.

She hurriedly caught up, pulling him playfully, "Mr. Rodriguez, where are you going? I want you to stay and open the champagne with me later."

"I'm going to the restroom for a smoke, are you coming?" Lawrence's tolerance for Angelina had reached its limit.

If it weren't to meet Adam, he wouldn't have come to this party.

But after a round, he realized that Adam wasn't even at Angelina's party.

Angelina had lied to him, but to avoid trouble for the Rodriguez Group, he had to play along for now.

"The men's restroom? Sure, I'll have security clear the area, we can have a private chat." Angelina shamelessly winked, her eyes bright and charming.

Lawrence's face darkened.

She was a noble lady but shameless; he couldn't be bothered with her and turned to leave.

Unwilling to give up, Angelina caught up again, "Mr. Rodriguez, are you in a hurry to see Winnie?"

"Ms. Harper!" Lawrence's cold gaze turned towards her, "You know very well why I'm at your party. If you don't understand gratitude and resort to threats, I'd rather face trouble from your father that day than save your life."

Angelina was taken aback, not expecting him to be so harsh.

Lawrence was indeed a man without tenderness. But the more she looked at him, the more she liked him, filled with a desire to conquer. She blinked in grievance, "Lawrence, I like you, don't you understand? I'm pursuing a man for the first time, I'm willing to put aside my status for you."

Lawrence smiled, his gaze turning colder, "Ms. Harper, if I responded to every woman who fancied me,  the Rodriguez Family would have had many women by now. You put aside your status, and I should be grateful? Sorry, I've never had that notion."

Lawrence's stern face exuded a sense of dominance and composure, tinged with sarcasm.

Angelina's pride was once again hurt, unwillingly arrogant, "But I'm not like those ordinary women."

She hinted at him, "I'm the daughter of the Minister of Finance. If you're with me, you can quickly turn the Rodriguez Family's fortunes around. Haven't you seen how many people are trying to flatter me and my father tonight?"

"Lawrence, you're a smart man, you can't possibly not understand what this shortcut can bring you. The opportunity is right in front of you, as long as you like me."

"My career has never needed to rely on women!" Lawrence said coldly before leaving.

Angelina watched his proud figure, her eyes reddening with anger, tears welling up in her eyes.

But the more she cried, the more she watched his indifferent figure, the more her heart fluttered with unwillingness.

He was different from all the men she had known, and neither coercion nor temptation worked.

His aura of cold dominance seemed innate, even in adversity, he looked down on everyone, unmoved by power.

"What's wrong? Angelina, who's upset you?" Samuel heard from a servant and immediately walked over, worried.

His face showed anger; he only had Angelina as a daughter, and he had pampered her since she was young.

"Dad, Mr. Rodriguez doesn't like me, what should I do?" Angelina said sadly, then squinted, "Can you think of a way? I must get him!"
