Chapter 837 Threatened
Olivia, that bitch, actually dug up everything about her in Lymington?
"Jeremy, it's not what you think. Let me explain! I had no choice."
Lynn clutched the bedsheet tightly and immediately grabbed his wrist, crying, "These men were forced on me by my parents. I only wanted to wait for you to come back, but my family's business got into trouble, and I had no other way."
Jeremy said, "Yes, you had no other way, even to the point of sleeping with others to solve your family's business problems?"
Jeremy didn't want to say more, his sarcastic gaze cold and distant as he shook off her hand.
He stood far away, his expression icy. "Lynn, let's make things clear today. Three years ago, you did me a great favor. To repay you and take responsibility, I agreed to marry you. In these three years, the DeRoss Family's support for the Smith Family is something you have deeply felt."
"But since you can't control yourself, your love for me is probably not much either. I cannot marry a woman who is opportunistic and unfaithful to me. That's the bottom line."
"Name your price, how about a hundred million dollars to buy off the rest of your life? It should be enough for the Smith Family's business to do well!"
"You want to shut me up with money? Jeremy, what do you mean by this?" Lynn's face changed dramatically.
"It means breaking off the engagement." Jeremy took off his refined gold-rimmed glasses.
The eyes that were revealed made Lynn shiver coldly.
She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
Jeremy was always grateful and never mentioned breaking up.
Lynn almost thought she was destined to be Mrs. DeRoss for life!
As long as she kept her secret, no one could take that position from her!
And now he was backing out?
Her pitiful expression mixed with resentment, "Jeremy, I saved your life with my purity back then! How can you abandon me over a little misunderstanding?"
"This is not a misunderstanding; it's evidence. I don't want to repeat myself. The DeRoss Family will repay your favor with material things."
"But I don't want that, I just want you to marry me!" Lynn's tears flowed, staring mockingly at his handsome, devilish profile, "All these things were sent by Olivia to slander me. You didn't believe her slander before. Why do you suddenly believe her now?"
"Is it because during the time I had to go back to Lymington, you came back and developed feelings for her? Jeremy, don't forget, she slept with Sam and even had Mia."
"I'm not belittling her, but don't think Louis and your mother will agree to let her into your family. They will only say Olivia seduced Sam and now seduces you. Do you want her to fall into such a situation?"
Lynn took a step back to advance, and Jeremy's eyes flashed fiercely.
He knew how difficult it would be to marry Olivia in the future.
But he liked Olivia, and it was hard to realize his feelings.
Olivia stirred his emotions in his otherwise stagnant life.
He didn't want to miss out.
So what if she had Sam's child? He didn't care at all.
Jeremy gathered his thoughts and didn't admit anything, just looked at Lynn coldly, "The evidence is right here. You say Olivia slandered you? Do you think I'm blind?"
"Lynn, we've been together for three years. I don't want to make things too ugly. A hundred million dollars is not a small amount. As for my affairs, you don't need to worry about them."
"I'll send you back to Lymington tomorrow morning. Please don't mention my return to my parents for now."
"You want to kick me out?" Lynn's eyes widened and reddened.
She knew that once Olivia exposed those damn photos, Jeremy's view of her would change.
She wouldn't let Olivia, that bitch, succeed.
Wait, he said not to tell Louis about his return? Why?
Olivia's eyes quickly turned in a moment of crisis. She had just tried to contact Sam, and Jeremy had smashed her phone, warning her coldly!
His return was good news, so why hide it?
Didn't he want others to know he was alive?
Who didn't he want to know?
Lynn thought carefully and guessed some clues. Was it Sam?
She remembered Sam was bribed by the Peterson Group in Trento City to accuse Lawrence of murdering Jeremy. The case was currently under appeal.
Logically, Jeremy's return would expose Sam's trick.
But why didn't he expose it and wanted to hide it?
Did he have some plot waiting for Sam or the Peterson Family behind Sam?
Lynn wasn't stupid. She immediately thought of how the Peterson Group had brought down the Rodriguez Group two months ago.
It seemed Jeremy and Lawrence were up to something.
Lynn, following her guess, suddenly mocked and tested, "I'm not going back to Lymington! Don't think you can send me back. You betrayed me for Olivia and won't let me tell your parents. No way, I'm going to tell Sam. He's your big brother, after all. I don't believe no one can restrain you."
Sure enough, Jeremy's brows furrowed coldly, "I warned you not to go to Sam. About my return, Lynn, you'd better not tell anyone!"
"You don't want me to go to Sam because you're afraid your return will be leaked, right? Judging by your expression, I seem to have guessed right."
"Then let's make a deal. The cancellation of the engagement you just mentioned is off. I won't reveal your whereabouts."
"If you don't comply, I'll find a way to tell Sam you're back. If anything goes wrong, don't blame me!" A calculating gleam flashed in Lynn's eyes, and the tears on her face dried up.
Jeremy looked at Lynn, feeling increasingly disgusted and unfamiliar.
For three years, Lynn had been obedient and sensible in front of him.
Now it seemed he had misunderstood Lynn.
No wonder Olivia always scolded him for being blind and biased towards Lynn.
He indeed had been grateful and had seen many things wrong.
A hint of coldness flashed in his eyes, "Lynn, don't challenge the consequences of threatening me."
"What could be worse than breaking off the engagement?" Lynn wasn't unafraid of him, but she wanted to take a gamble. Her eyes turned, and she pretended to be heartbroken, "If you don't want me, who will be responsible for my life?"
"Jeremy, you probably don't know, but I was actually pregnant that night. I later had a miscarriage and couldn't keep the baby. My body can never get pregnant again!"
"I was afraid you'd despise me, so I never dared to say it. Now you're forcing me, so I'm telling you, you must be responsible for my ruined life!"
Jeremy was suddenly shocked, his eyes narrowing dangerously as he grabbed her neck, not believing her, "Now that I want to break up with you, you dare to lie to me? You were never pregnant three years ago."
Lynn was almost out of breath from his grip, his sharp gaze like a knife.
But she still said, "Just because you didn't know doesn't mean I wasn't pregnant. I have the diagnosis. Don't force me to make it public!"
Jeremy glared at her for a while, gritting his teeth as he pushed her away, his mind in chaos.
He didn't believe she had really been pregnant and had a miscarriage.
