Chapter 219 Raising Suspicion

Barbara quickly summoned both surgeons from that day.

Darcy crossed her arms, "Both of you have been paid enough already. You interned at Trento City and received support from the Li Medical Group. My mother mentioned that. It's time to show your gratitude. We must handle Madam Rodriguez's surgery incident properly.”

“That girl, Winnie Anderson. Don’t worry. if someone investigates, they won't find anything. There were no mistakes with the kidney transplant patient and the donor.” They replied confidently.

“The girl we found for you is from the Gastrointestinal Cancer Department and has no relation to the kidney transplant unit. She received her money earlier, and she didn't know who the buyer was. It would be best to forget about this matter," they assured her.

Only then did Darcy nod with a cold expression, and she furrowed her brows again, "Go and bring me the list of all the female nurses in your unit."

Mr. Gonzalez looked puzzled, resulting in Barbara firmly explaining, "There was a suspicious nurse in your office just now. Miss wants to investigate."

Reluctantly, the director told the head nurse to bring the roster of female nurses. The list included photos, and Darcy quickly flipped through them, but none of the pairs of eyes matched the nurse who wore the mask earlier.

"Are these all of them?"

"There are also some temporary workers, but it would be too troublesome to count them. The hospital isn't strict in managing those hired on a temporary basis," they explained.

Darcy pondered and sighed with relief. It seemed that the nurse was just a temporary worker and didn't intentionally come here.

She scolded, "Keep stricter control over the cases in your unit and, be careful with people entering and leaving your office!"

Mr. Gonzalez thought she was being overly cautious, "Miss Ordelia, rest assured. We have everything under control, and there won't be any traces left to be found."

Darcy stared at him and smiled faintly, "Very well."

After leaving with Barbara, Darcy paused in the corridor and looked back at the two doctors in the director's office.

Darcy's expression remained unchanged as she coldly sneered, "These two doctors are greedy. I can't trust them completely. For now, I can't make a move against them, but once Madam Rodriguez dies, their mouths will be sealed...forever." Barbara was shocked, looking at Darcy, seeing how she calmly suggested to silence them.

Unaware, Jeremy loosened his hand, that was covering Olivia’s soft and tender lips, and casually put it back into his pocket.

"Ah~ Mr. DeRoss, why are you also here at the hospital?" Olivia, who had regained her breath, asked somewhat awkwardly.

"I came to use the restroom," the man responded briefly, with a deep voice. After saying that, he walked towards the urinal.

"Ah—hey, am I invisible here? I'm a girl, and I'm not blind, Mr. DeRoss, hey!" Olivia was furious, her face turning red.

"Don't you know how to close your eyes?"

"You should have informed me beforehand, it's too late now! Don’t you have any manners?" She muttered in embarrassment.

"Are you being polite by coming into the men's restroom?" Jeremy furrowed his eyebrows, glancing at her blushing face with his dark eyes, feeling mischievous.

He felt like this woman was a rogue. The last time he, under Mr. L's orders, went to save her was out of goodwill, but she took advantage of him in the car. And after, she didn't even remember it. When they occasionally met, she shamelessly smiled at him.

Countless thoughts raced through Olivia's mind, wondering why, as a perfectly well-behaved girl, she always had these kinds of experiences. Last time, she encountered Lawrence R was at Imperial's 'Indecent Care'.

Oh, wait! Remembering that Lawrence R is L, and when she followed 'Lawrence R' to the restroom last time, it wasn't actually Lawrence R, after all. After thinking for a moment, a flash of realization crossed Olivia's mind. Suddenly, she lifted her head to observe Jeremy's profile.

He was wearing a flamboyant light pink shirt, and he accentuated his side view with glasses. He was incredibly handsome, with distinct features and a trim figure, with long legs.

This side view, and the side view of the man urinating at Imperial's restroom last time... Damn, it seems like, but it couldn't be, last time it was Jeremy pretending to be 'Lawrence R,' right? In other words, both times she saw the same man! What kind of ill-fated connection was this?

"Ms. Rogue, you still standing here?"

"Huh?" Olivia was speechless. Did he think she enjoyed standing here? Wasn’t Darcy waiting outside to catch her? Damn it, he called her a rogue. As if she cared to look at him.

She became both angry and embarrassed, staring firmly at the thin lips that the man was nonchalantly pursing, and mocking.

"I was just curious; do you always take this long to use the restroom? If there's something wrong, you might as well go out and find a doctor since we're in a hospital."

This damned woman, if he didn't give her a taste of his authority, he wouldn't be named Jeremy! The man turned around, facing her calmly, his lips curled up with a wickedness, as he said to her,
"The restrooms in the hospital should be very clean. Why don't you go to a cubicle and check, Miss Smith?"

Jeremy’s words were bold, and relentless, he had a casual gaze, and a mild-mannered appearance, yet exuded an air of immorality. It was truly hard to imagine how he became Lawrence R's loyal brother.

Two blushes appeared on Olivia's face, she wasn’t willing to back down, and glanced at his waist and abdomen, saying sarcastically, "No need to check, I'm not concerned about your health."

Jeremy's narrowed eyes focused on the charming woman.
He licked his thin lips. For some reason, this scene triggered a slight surge of spontaneity within him. Damn it.

"My body is perfectly healthy, as you can see, Miss Smith," the man mocked, with sarcasm and cold arrogance.

Olivia couldn’t believe his arrogant tone, but he does have the qualifications to be arrogant.
She felt embarrassed and her heart pounded fiercely. Wait, why were they discussing this? How did the conversation turn into this? Are they actually that familiar with each other?

She scolded herself in her mind, blushed, and quickly bypassed him, rushing to the door. "Uh, thanks for earlier. Do you still need to use the restroom? I won't disturb you."

Jeremy's forehead darkened. “You shouldn’t go out now, Darcy may not have left yet."

With his mention of Darcy, Olivia narrowed her eyes, turning back to him. "I haven't asked yet, but why did you, Mr. DeRoss, happen to come to this hospital? Could it be that you're here to investigate something?"

"What about you? Sneaking into the nephrology office, what were you doing? Investigating Darcy?"

Jeremy squinted at her; he did want to check on the matter of Madam Rodriguez's kidney failure, but there were no suspicions in the nephrology department. But Olivia, seemed to be here for Darcy, creating questions to form in his mind.

Olivia's breathing paused as she thought that this matter, entrusted to her by Winnie, must be kept confidential. Not only that but Lawrence R was so trusting of Darcy, Jeremy is his friend. If she told him her suspicions, she had a feeling, he might betray her.

She quickly laughed it off, "What am I investigating Darcy for? Just killing time? Someone in my family has uremia, so I came to find a doctor to ask for advice. It's just a coincidence that I bumped into her in the narrow corridor. Okay then, I’m leaving. Mr. DeRoss, feel free to do as you please.” she felt slightly flustered. After speaking, she slipped away carefully.

Jeremy didn't stop her, his gaze fixed on her figure in the nurse's uniform. Did he look like a fool? He snorted, disguising herself and acting all sneaky. She must have a reason. Could it be that Winnie sent her to investigate something?
