Chapter 861 Never Forgive
She glared fiercely at the gentle and smiling Melissa.
As Bob descended the steps, he offered his arm to Melissa. She shyly pulled away, her face flushed with embarrassment.
Seeing her startled and submissive demeanor, Bob found it amusing. Had no woman ever avoided him like this before?
Of course, he had never been close to any woman in his life.
"I didn't mean anything by it, just didn't want you to fall," he explained in a low voice.
Melissa awkwardly offered her wrist and quickly explained in a low voice, "Mr. Rodriguez, I didn't think you meant anything by it. I'm much better now, you don't need to trouble yourself out of politeness."
"What makes you think I'm troubled?" Bob frowned slightly.
Melissa's face turned a bit red with embarrassment. "Did Lawrence ask you to come? I know you're his father, and it's difficult for you to be caught in the middle, but you don't have to do this."
"He didn't ask me to come." Bob looked down at Melissa with a serious expression.
Melissa raised her head slightly.
Bob coughed, feeling a bit awkward about what he was about to say. He covered his mouth with his hand, "Sidney and Oscar have been staying at my house for three days. Winnie might pick them up today. It's rare for both Winnie and Lawrence to be at home, so I thought... Would you like to come over too? After all, you're Lawrence's mother and the grandmother of the two children."
Melissa lowered her head, and her mind was in turmoil, but she dared not think too much.
She quickly reined in her wandering thoughts and smiled slightly, "So that's how it is. I haven't seen Winnie in a long time, I miss her."
"So, you agree to come to my house?" Bob asked again.
Melissa hesitated a lot, "Mr. Rodriguez, it's not convenient. your family are all at home. It's too inappropriate."
"There's nothing inappropriate about it. You are a great benefactor to the Rodriguez Family, have you forgotten?" Bob looked deeply at Melissa.
Melissa's face froze, knowing he was referring to the billion dollars she spent to buy the Rodriguez Villa, helping him through a difficult time.
She still felt a bit shy, "That was all Lawrence's money."
"He didn't intend to help the Rodriguez Group at the time, I know. Those funds were meant for you. He's a grateful person." Bob spoke of Lawrence with pride.
Melissa felt warm inside, after all, he was her son. Back then, she had wanted to secretly give birth to him.
This feeling had been buried in her heart for too many years, and she never dared to show it.
Now, she dared even less.
"Have you decided? There's nothing inconvenient about it, just come!" Bob looked at the night sky and asked in a low voice.
Melissa pressed her lips together. After recovering from her spinal transplant surgery, she looked better, had gained some weight, and the signs of long-term illness had disappeared. She was still thin but remained elegant and beautiful.
She could give birth to someone as handsome as Lawrence, so she must not be bad herself.
Bob's gentle eyes inadvertently swept across her face.
"Alright. I'll go then," Melissa smiled.
Bob nodded and raised his hand to signal the Rodriguez Family driver in the distance.
"Bob!" A voice called out urgently and coquettishly from the side.
Bob's eyebrows furrowed as he saw the elegantly dressed Hellen. His face immediately turned cold.
"Bob, long time no see. How have you been lately?"
Hellen walked quickly in high heels, her perfume carried by the night breeze, her figure alluring.
Melissa's eyes widened as she watched Hellen's flamboyant demeanor, her gaze dimming.
She looked down at herself, a sense of inferiority welling up. Years of illness had long eroded her confidence.
She instinctively stepped back, thinking that Bob might be shaken upon seeing Hellen.
Unexpectedly, Bob immediately stepped in front of Melissa.
Facing the approaching Hellen, he looked down at her, his demeanor turning icy, "Hellen, why are you here?"
His protective stance towards Melissa made Hellen's eyes fill with jealousy.
She clutched her handbag tightly and looked up at Bob with a soft expression, "Bob, I came to find you. Actually, I've wanted to talk to you for a long time. Ever since our divorce, I've regretted it!"
Bob glanced at her, realizing her presence had nothing to do with Melissa.
Bob took Melissa by the sleeve and led her down the steps, heading straight for his car.
"Melissa, could you step aside for a moment? I have a lot to say to Bob." Hellen's voice was tearful, aggrieved, and somewhat helpless as she quickly approached Melissa.
Melissa's face was stiff.
Bob continued to protect her with one hand, completely ignoring Hellen. His coldness had already spread to Hellen. He called out to the driver, "Come and assist Ms. Clark."
"Bob, can you listen to me for a moment?"
"Melissa, let's get in the car."
"Bob, after our divorce, I realized I still love you. You are the one I love the most. Yes, I made a mistake. I was confused at the time. We were married for thirty years, and you were always devoted to me. You never looked for a lover outside. If I had realized how much you loved me and how faithful you were earlier, it would have been better."
"I was wrong. I want to come back to you, Bob. You haven't forgotten me, have you? Are you ignoring me because you're still angry? I'm willing to atone for my mistakes. I'm willing to do anything to win back your heart. Why don't you dare to look at me? Are you afraid that if you do, you'll soften, Bob?"
Hellen clung to Bob's sleeve, using all her charms to act coquettishly. Her voice made Melissa feel inexplicably awkward, her whole body covered in goosebumps.
Even though Melissa didn't understand these flirtatious tactics, she knew that men generally found it hard to resist.
Especially since Hellen was beautiful and Bob's ex-wife.
Melissa's eyes dimmed, comforting herself that it was good she never dared to think too much. Maybe Bob would be swayed by Hellen and soften.
Would they end up remarrying?
Suddenly, Hellen let out a scream.
She was almost pushed to the ground by Bob's forceful shove.
Bob's face was cold, glaring at the sprained Hellen on the ground. The seriousness in his eyes was replaced by a chilling coldness. He spat out mocking words, "Hellen, don't use the same tricks you used to seduce Ronnie on me. Do you think I don't know that the Peterson Group is in crisis and the reason you just happen to want to come back?"
"If I couldn't figure out this simple problem and let myself be deceived by you, I wouldn't be worthy of being Lawrence's father, the head of the Rodriguez Group! Get out. Leave my sight and don't pollute my eyes. As for you, I will never forgive you, nor will I ever have anything to do with you again."
After he finished speaking, he glanced at the stunned Melissa, remembering how she had saved him from jumping off a building when Hellen forced him to divorce while he was critically ill, and how she had secretly taken care of him at night.
