Chapter 806 You Don't Remember Any of It
Winnie struggled harder, but the grip tightened. Her heart raced as she tried to keep things calm, "I'm not unwilling, Rock. I just need a little more time."
"Time again?" Rock wasn't pacified by her explanation.
Instead, the thought of her hiding in the bathroom, letting Lawrence, a man with sexual dysfunction, touch her but not him, fueled his accumulated anger even more.
He almost lost control, grabbing her wrist suddenly.
"Are you going to hit me again?" Winnie asked tearfully, looking pitiful.
It was as if her words snapped Rock out of it. He squinted his eyes; he hadn't gotten Winnie yet.
He suppressed his anger deeply, his body stiffening as he let go and then hugged her tightly, apologizing with deep emotion, "How could I bear to hurt you again, Winnie? Don't misunderstand me. I just love you so much that I want to be close to you. Can't you feel that?"
Winnie's body stiffened and shuddered violently.
She felt it, a wave of intense disgust and repulsion surged through her. His desire for her was now out in the open, with no attempt to hide it.
Fortunately, she had noticed and had Zachary prepare for it.
In this situation, she really didn't want to act with him anymore. Staying under the same roof with him was too dangerous. Winnie pretended to be shy and bitter, "I don't know what's wrong, Rock. Give me a few more days, okay?"
"Every time I want to get close to you, you brush me off like this. What are you resisting?" Rock asked with a bitter self-mockery, his eyes narrowing slightly, "Then I'll wait until this Friday. I have a business trip the next couple of days, Winnie. Don't disappoint me then."
Winnie clenched her palm; time was tight!
But she heard he was going on a business trip.
Rock let her go disappointedly, "Forget it, you can sleep in the guest room tonight."
"Okay." Winnie felt a huge relief and quickly went upstairs.
Rock coldly looked at the messy dining table, feeling irritated. Just as he was about to head to the study, his phone rang.
He glanced at the caller ID and walked to a secluded spot to answer, "What's up?"
It was his assistant, "Mr. Harrington, there's bad news. During the office cleaning today, the cleaner found a small device hidden in the bookshelf. I checked it carefully and found it was a camera."
"A camera?" Rock's face changed slightly, his gentle eyes turning cold, "Who put it there? How long has it been there?"
"Mr. Harrington, that's unclear."
"Keep looking! See if there are any more in my office!"
Rock hung up the phone angrily, his eyes slowly shifting upstairs and narrowing with a dark glint.
Over the waters of Azure Isle.
Jeremy had returned.
He had gone to Trento City to meet Lawrence, secretly discussing a collaboration with NexaCore Group, planning to trick the Peterson Family and the Harrington Group. He hadn't forgotten Olivia; Adam said Olivia was still on the island recovering.
After quickly gathering information about Trento City, Jeremy rushed back. He wanted to take Olivia away.
After disembarking, the news of Jeremy's return quickly spread through the villa.
In the central mansion on the island, Olivia was confined to her room. Hearing the news, her heart skipped a beat, and she immediately stopped a maid, "I want to see Jeremy. Take me to Mr. DeRoss!"
Jeremy had disappeared for five days after leaving her room that morning.
Olivia had been confined by Adam, forced to rest and recover during those five days.
She didn't know what had happened outside.
Where could Jeremy, this amnesiac patient, have gone, and what had he done?
"Adam, is Ms. Smith in there?" Suddenly, a deep male voice came from outside the door.
It was familiar, it was Jeremy!
Olivia quickly put on a coat and got up from the bed. Jeremy's voice made her heart tremble. She instinctively licked her lips, remembering the three days of his crazed demands, her face blushing, not even noticing her hands tidying her hair.
It wasn't until she saw herself in the mirror fixing her appearance.
She was slightly stunned, a thought flashing through her mind: A woman dressed up for her beloved.
Damn, what was she doing?
Olivia angrily messed up her neatly arranged hair again. Just as she was about to look up, the maid gently opened her room door.
Adam's voice came faintly, with some deeper meaning, "I've had her resting here for the past few days, not letting her leave. Alvin, you go see her first. You two have a lot to talk about and resolve."
"What things?" Jeremy looked puzzled, "Didn't Olivia come to the island to find me and then get confined by you? Did I meet her during my amnesia?"
Adam was speechless.
Just then, Olivia walked out of the room.
Jeremy turned his head and saw Olivia's familiar, delicate face, her clear and soft features. But her gaze at him seemed to change from surprise to something strange.
"Jeremy?" Olivia called out to him, almost uncertain.
Jeremy noticed Olivia was wearing pajamas, the neckline slightly open. He instinctively blocked Adam and the maid's view, but his own gaze was polite and restrained, turning aside, "Olivia, you've been through a lot these days. Adam misunderstood you. I'm here to take you back to Trento City, but change your clothes first before we talk."
Olivia glanced at her pajamas, which weren't exactly inappropriate.
But the key was his strangely cold and distant attitude towards her.
It was as if he was his old self. Since they had been intimate on the island, he had been bold and extremely passionate towards her, unable to resist taking her to bed whenever he got close.
She thought of something and her eyes widened suddenly.
"Jeremy, have you regained your memory?" Olivia asked nervously and excitedly, her mouth dry.
"Yes." Jeremy confirmed, "When I fell into the sea, I suddenly remembered everything. I immediately worked with Adam to figure out what had happened over the past month."
"Then I went to Trento City to find Lawrence and signed the cooperation with NexaCore Group. Adam told me you had risked coming to find me and had been confined on the island for nearly half a month."
"I came back to get you. I'm sorry, Olivia, for keeping you confined for so long. I heard you were seriously injured? How did it happen? Were you attacked on the way here? Where are you hurt? How have you been resting? Can you walk?"
Olivia looked at his refined face, falling silent. Her mind was in turmoil, seeing his clueless expression, his clear-cut features, and calm, deep eyes.
Her intense passion and attachment suddenly cooled. It was as if those three days of making love with him were just a dream, and she had abruptly woken up.
"Jeremy, you don't remember any of it?" she asked softly, questioning him.
"What?" Jeremy raised an eyebrow.
