Chapter 285 Visiting the Prison
Winnie didn't even spare a glance. She wouldn't bother with someone who had no value to exploit, like Darcy.
As darkness fell, Rock's car parked by the road not far from the warehouse.
Winnie walked over, feeling a warmth in her heart. "I knew it, Manager Nelson couldn't have called so many bodyguards. It was you all along, Rock."
"Congratulations to our Ms. Anderson for becoming Triton's largest shareholder, triumphing over all obstacles," Rock spoke warmly with a smile.
Manager Nelson rejoiced, "These parasites, staying in the company would only cause trouble for Ms. Anderson by colluding with Darcy. You were amazing today."
Winnie couldn't help but chuckle, at that moment, Oscar in her arms moved. She lowered her head and whispered, "Are you awake? Oscar, look, it's Rock."
"Rock." Oscar was polite and had video chatted with Rock a few times. They got along well.
Rock raised an eyebrow, looking at Winnie. Winnie nodded subtly, indicating that Oscar had recovered from his illness. Rock focused, this illness was truly bizarre; it felt like Oscar was an entirely different person.
He smiled lightly and reached out his big hand. "Oscar, may I hold you?"
Oscar hesitated for a moment. His damned father hadn't even held him yet, although he didn't particularly expect it. But he couldn't let another man have that first moment.
Of course, Oscar was grateful to Rock. He had helped his mommy a lot.
Oscar cleverly climbed down and took Rock's hand. "I'm a bit of a clean freak, Rock. Please don't mind."
Rock burst into laughter and patted his head. "Oscar, you truly are a prince."
Winnie, with her son, got into Rock's car.
Oscar watched Rock speak gently while his mom listened attentively. The two were an attractive couple and matched well.
The car stopped under the apartment building, and they didn't have time to celebrate with a meal because Rock had arranged for a visit to the prison. Winnie wanted to rush over immediately.
"Oscar, Uncle Rock's servants and bodyguards will take you upstairs. Mommy is going to meet Elliott tonight. Is that okay with you?"
"Of course I can. Please give my regards to Uncle Grandpa, and I hope he will be released safely soon," Oscar dutifully said.
Winnie looked at her son, his final words causing her eyes to well up with tears. She gently touched his cheek.
"Let's go upstairs."
He truly was a heartwarming child. Comparing him to the "Oscar" who clung onto her leg just a few days ago, Winnie couldn't help but smile.
However, she unexpectedly had some yearning for 'Cold Oscar.' What's going on?"
"Could it be that you love both sides of Oscar's split personality?" Rock looked intently.
"As a mommy, I naturally love all of him," Winnie replied, leaning against the car seat. Suddenly, she had a whimsical thought: would it be perfect if she had two babies?
-
Inside the villa.
Darcy hid in the room as she called Mrs. Ordelia, "Mom, buying that kind of medicine from other sources would leave traces. You have to secretly get a stronger one from the Ordelia Group's medical department. It must be given to Mr. L..."
As she spoke, Darcy walked out while holding her bag and unexpectedly turned her head to see Sidney in the dim corridor.
The child seemed to have just come out of the bathroom, with a pair of clear black eyes resembling Winnie's, sharply staring at her.
Darcy was startled and immediately covered the phone, unsure if the little bastard had heard her. She quickly looked around, but there were no servants.
She furrowed her brows and scolded in a low voice, "Sidney, why are you hiding here without making a sound, like a ghost?"
Sidney rarely spoke, especially when faced with a phony woman like Darcy. Sidney coldly walked past her, ignoring her.
Darcy widened her eyes. If this were the same ‘Sidney’ from a few days ago, he would have undoubtedly approached her with cunning and strategy.
Although the person in front of her seemed more like the cool little guy she used to manipulate...
Darcy felt that something was off and stared at him walking into the children's room. She wanted to follow him, but was caught off guard and tripped over the scattered bags at the entrance.
"Ah... Why is it all clothes? Sidney, you bought so many sportswear and didn't ask the servants to tidy them up? Are you deliberately trying to make me fall by leaving them here!?"
"Watch where you're walking." Sidney found her constant fault-finding annoying.
"Apologies, Miss Ordelia, I am organizing," a maid's head popped out. Apparently, she was tidying up the wardrobe.
She explained, "When Sidney came back from the mall the other day, he denied buying these clothes. He said to hang them in another changing room, as he might wear them in the future. Look at him; he was indeed impulsive, yet still likes to wear little suits."
Darcy was taken aback, gazing at Sidney's tidy little suit. He looked refined, completely like a cold version of Lawrence R.
Denied buying these clothes?
Darcy found it very strange and couldn't help but scrutinize Sidney even more.
Sidney, maintaining his posture as if repelling strangers, sat by the desk and said to Darcy, "What are you looking at? This room doesn't welcome you."
"... "It wasn't her imagination; his way of speaking had completely changed since this morning.
A flicker of thought flashed in Darcy's eyes.
She suddenly approached Sidney, smiling as she ruffled his hair, "Sidney, how are you doing? Why is it so hot and cold with me?"
Sidney was slightly confused and annoyed, remembering that Oscar was here a couple of days ago.
Damn it, could they be inconsistent?
"I just don't like talking!" Sidney pursed his lips, trying to salvage the situation.
Darcy narrowed her eyes and deliberately said, "But before, you were very affectionate towards mommy. You called me so sweetly that night when we came back from the auction house."
At this thought, Darcy suddenly remembered and swiftly searched Sidney's pockets, asking, "Can you tell me why you had an asthma inhaler with you that day? You don't have asthma, even though you have many small ailments. Is it someone else's?"
But after searching Sidney thoroughly, this time Darcy didn't find the asthma inhaler.
Upon hearing about the inhaler, Sidney was momentarily stunned, only then remembering that mommy said Oscar needed it!
That night, mommy even ordered takeout and had the medicine delivered.
Sidney quickly clutched his hand, impatiently saying, "There's no inhaler. Did you mistake something? I want to sleep. Can you leave me alone? Very annoying."
As he spoke, he climbed onto the bed, sat up straight, and ignored her. This demeanor was the old Sidney, proud and introverted, straightforward.
Not the playful and mischievous Sidney from a couple of days ago, with a scheming mind.
Darcy stared at the little bastard, furrowing her brows.
In the past two days, his behavior had changed dramatically, sometimes wanting to buy sports clothes, other times denying it.
Clearly, there was an asthma inhaler in his pocket, but now he denied it again. Something was suspicious!
Darcy saw the slightly guilty look in his eyes. There must be something strange going on, could this bastard be sick?
She wondered and turned around, thinking that there were more important matters to deal with, and she would come back to deal with this little guy later.
She hurriedly left.
Sidney, sitting on the bed, quickly ran to close the door and took out his phone bracelet to type a message: Oscar, it seems like the bad woman is planning something bad against daddy!
