Chapter 892 Ishara Went to AquaVista Continent
"Dad?" Oscar was momentarily stunned but quickly caught on, staring at Lawrence. "You mean these partial photos put together are... are..."
"I think the mouth looks similar. Let me check the brow ridge and compare."
Oscar swiftly pulled out his phone and found a candid photo of his mom's face. Lawrence placed the photo next to the phone and scrutinized them... His heart sank even further.
Ishara had cunningly split the photos for the doctor.
But when these parts were combined, the person she was subtly trying to resemble—could it be Winnie?
Why would she want to alter her face to look like Winnie?
They already shared half their genes and had some resemblance.
Why was she suddenly so intent on mimicking Winnie's brow ridge, eye corners, and mouth?
What did this have to do with her sudden departure from the country?
First, she subtly altered her appearance, then she vanished. What on earth was Ishara up to?
It had to be more than just hiding her pregnancy and evading Lawrence's pursuit.
Lawrence's breath hitched, a surge of anger burning in his throat. "Rock?
Maybe Rock had her subtly alter her appearance and then sent her abroad. Even though Rock is bankrupt now, he still refuses to reveal her whereabouts, which shows that Ishara is doing something important for him.
Something so important that she needed to look like Winnie."
Lawrence's mind felt like a bomb slowly detonating.
He picked up Oscar and left the hospital. "Bryan, make sure this doctor keeps quiet."
Outside, Lawrence pondered deeply and had his bodyguard call Ray. "Ray, are you still at the docks?
Jeremy's side is delayed. How's your investigation going? Have you figured out which direction Ishara escaped by sea?
She altered her appearance before Rock sent her abroad. She must be carrying some secret!
Maybe it involves Winnie...
This is far more complex and urgent than I thought."
Otherwise, she wouldn't have needed to alter her appearance to look like Winnie.
Ray's side was chaotic, but he brought some good news over the phone: "If you're saying Ishara altered her appearance before escaping, I found footage of a woman wearing sunglasses and a scarf!
It's not very clear.
But Lawrence, I spoke to a crew member who was in charge of the stowaways in the second cabin.
I'm interrogating him now. Wait for my update!"
"Dad, is there progress with Mr. Martin?" Oscar asked excitedly.
Lawrence's stern expression softened slightly, and he nodded at Oscar.
They sat in the car. The deep, dark night seemed calm as still water, but Lawrence's heart was anything but peaceful.
What were Rock and Ishara up to?
He sensed a huge hidden danger behind this, far more than Rock just wanting to torment his unborn child.
Rock was bankrupt but hadn't lost his mind yet, and it was definitely related to Ishara's departure.
He pressed his fingers to his temples, shadows heavy under his eyes, and looked at Bryan. "Check Rock's financial transactions over the past few days. No matter where he sent Ishara abroad, he must have spent money."
Bryan was momentarily stunned, thinking Lawrence's reaction was impressively quick.
At 4 AM, Oscar couldn't stay awake any longer and fell asleep. When he woke up, he heard Ray's voice!
He jumped up and walked out of Lawrence's resting room.
Outside, the CEO's office was brightly lit. Ray had brought in the interrogated sailor, and several tall men stood in the office, the atmosphere tense.
Lawrence stood by the window, taking the tablet Ray handed him.
The screen showed two red dots.
Ray pointed to the sailor beside him. "I had him identify Ishara from the surveillance footage. Though blurry, the sailor remembered her because she was pregnant.
Pregnant stowaways are a big concern for sailors, as they don't want them dying on the ship and causing trouble.
You should talk to him yourself!"
Ray nudged the sailor.
"Yes, sir..." The sailor, seeing Lawrence's imposing presence, was suddenly nervous. Coupled with Ray's interrogation, he spoke truthfully. "That night, the woman vomited twice in the lower cabin. She threw a big fit at us and demanded a cabin change.
But we were instructed to protect her at all costs.
Just before dawn, the ship left Veridiania waters, and she switched to a yacht!"
"Which direction did the yacht head, which country?" Lawrence abruptly turned his face.
The sailor fidgeted with his fingers and answered, "South... not sure if it was to Emerald Isle or to Bannerman Heights airport for a transfer."
Lawrence's eyes narrowed. "Emerald Isle doesn't have an airport, right?"
Ray shook his head. "It's a small island, no airport. If Ishara went to Emerald Isle, she's likely heading to Aquilonia."
"What direct flights are available from Bannerman Heights airport?"
Ray quickly made a call to check and then informed Lawrence, "The only direct flight is to AquaVista Continent."
Lawrence crushed the cigarette in his hand, gradually applying more pressure. "So, Ishara could have gone in two directions, AquaVista Continent or Aquilonia.
Rock would choose either the most secretive or the fastest route to ensure her safe exit."
"The secretive route is Aquilonia, so Ishara's goal is to hide? The fastest route is a direct flight from Bannerman Heights to AquaVista Continent, but flight information can not be traced."
Ray furrowed his brows and growled, "So now, Aquilonia or AquaVista Continent, where did she go? Damn, how do we find her?"
Lawrence remained calm, his gaze shifting to Bryan. "Did you find Rock's financial transactions?"
"Mr. Rodriguez, as you predicted, two days ago, Rock exchanged over a million dollars through the Harrington Group to a place in Aquilonia, officially for purchasing a coffee plantation."
Ray's eyes widened. "Then Ishara must have been sent to Aquilonia! Lawrence, we need to find the address of that coffee plantation."
Lawrence, however, gave a cold, thin smile, remaining silent, his pupils deep and contemplative.
Bryan watched Lawrence's inscrutable expression nervously, unable to decipher the mocking look in his dark eyes.
"Mr. Rodriguez?"
"Bryan, book me a flight to AquaVista Continent. I'll leave tomorrow."
"What? Lawrence? Rock exchanged money to Aquilonia!" Ray was utterly confused.
Bryan was initially puzzled, too, but after thinking it over, he was amazed by Lawrence's decision.
Lawrence glanced at Ray, his eyes cold and certain, a sarcastic smile on his lips. "Ray, knowing Rock's level of cunning, exchanging money to Aquilonia is just a diversion.
His schemes are beyond your imagination.
If we do the opposite, we'll be right."
"But AquaVista Continent and Aquilonia are both vast. You can't just gamble!" Ray couldn't understand where Lawrence's confidence came from.
