Chapter 874 Spoiling Winnie
Oscar secretly blinked.
Winnie saw the father and son standing there, both tacitly quieting down. The atmosphere was a bit strange, reminiscent of the night before last. It was clear that it wasn't just Oscar scolding Lawrence.
She frowned slightly and walked over with Sidney, "What are you two talking about? Why did you stop as soon as Sidney and I came over?"
"Nothing," Oscar quickly explained. "In front of you, men don't fight. The three of us men want to create a harmonious and peaceful environment for Mommy."
Lawrence glanced at Oscar, a slight smile on his lips, and looked down at Winnie, "From now on, the three of us will pamper you, Winnie. Your good days are ahead."
Winnie was at a loss for words. The more they acted like this, the more suspicious she became. Did they think she was a fool?
There was definitely something going on between Oscar and Lawrence that they were hiding from her, and even from Sidney.
Winnie looked down at Sidney, who was smiling. Sidney seemed aloof but was actually quite naive, no wonder he was kept in the dark.
She squinted her eyes, planning to find an opportunity to have Sidney probe Oscar to see what they were up to.
Seeing the father and son covering for each other, Winnie didn't press the issue. "We've finished eating, so it's time to go home. Sidney, Oscar, come to Mommy, let's go." Winnie glanced at Lawrence and smiled.
"I'll drive you home!" Lawrence stepped closer, his gentle presence enveloping Winnie. He naturally picked up one son in each arm, reached over to take Winnie's handbag, the strap brushing against his expensive steel watch, the cold metallic texture flashing briefly.
It made him appear particularly manly, a broad-shouldered yet youthful father figure.
Winnie looked at his tall frame, momentarily stunned. Perhaps it was the warmth of the night, but she felt an indescribable sense of security in her heart.
These days, with him around, she hardly had to worry about taking care of the children. He was strong, tall, and attentive, taking care of her in a way that was both domineering and gentlemanly, and very considerate.
What was she thinking? Could she stay clear-headed? Please, Lawrence was extremely cunning; he was doing all this to win her over.
She didn't have the confidence to fully trust the same man a second time. For now, she wouldn't marry another man, nor would she remarry him.
The Blanchet Group had just been reclaimed, and she still needed to work hard with Carlos to stabilize and strengthen the company.
Winnie quietly sorted out her thoughts and emotions. The journey passed quickly, and before she knew it, Lawrence had driven them to Dazzling Estate.
Under the moonlight, Lawrence carried the two children out of the car, his strength impressive. He stood tall in the night breeze, came over to open the car door for her, his deep eyes looking at her face, "Winnie, I paid for dinner today, so you still owe me a meal."
Winnie looked at his mature demeanor, surprisingly acting childishly. She moved her lips, and Lawrence's fingers came up to wipe her lips. His gaze focused more intently on her red lips, his Adam's apple bobbing, "You had a bit too much lipstick on, I wiped it off for you."
"On Friday, the Rodriguez Group is holding a celebration banquet with a large lantern show that I designed specifically for the kids. Remember to bring them to attend. Also, the entrepreneurs at the banquet are good potential partners for the Blanchet Group, so you should seize the opportunity."
He directly blocked any refusal from Winnie. She frowned, silent, unable to muster the courage to express her anger. Because the Blanchet Group was not very stable, Winnie also had the idea of leveraging his influence to secure more partnerships for the Blanchet Group.
She admitted she wasn't very confident. After all, if there were resources she could use, why not use them? Moreover, she wasn't taking much advantage of him; he wasn't losing anything!
"Don't worry, Winnie. I hope you use me and the Rodriguez Group to your advantage. We can become business allies!" Lawrence, seeing through everything, smiled and wrapped his large hand around her waist, pulling her off the car.
Winnie fell into his broad chest under the force of gravity, his scent making her feel so secure. Her face flushed, and a few seconds later, she quickly pulled away, righteously saying, "Don't label me with your name. I'm relying on your help for now, but once the Blanchet Group is stable, I'll repay you through cooperation."
"No need. What's yours is yours, and what's mine is still yours! In the future, you'll be the owner of both the Blanchet Group and the Rodriguez Group." Lawrence shamelessly chuckled.
"Can't be bothered with you." Winnie felt that if he held her any longer, her waist would go soft. She quickly stepped back, looking at her two sons watching them from the hallway, "You two, hurry inside."
Sidney said, "Mommy, you and bad Daddy look like you're acting in a TV show. Mainly because you both look so good, like the male and female leads. And Lawrence has that domineering vibe, I have to say, it's quite handsome."
Winnie was completely embarrassed, "Sidney, can you watch less TV with your great-grandmother?"
"No, it's Grandma who loves TV! Great-grandma likes other things."
Winnie felt that Sidney's lifestyle had been completely changed by the Rodriguez Family. She could only look at Oscar, "Help your brother out, don't let him stay so childish."
Oscar chuckled softly, "Mommy, why should we all be so smart? Isn't it nice to have someone like Sidney who's a bit silly? We should preserve Sidney's nature."
"Oscar! Don't secretly call me silly, I'm clearly a cool person!" Sidney shouted, chasing after Oscar.
At this moment, Elliott opened the door for them, smiling, and glanced at the Rolls-Royce still parked outside, then looked at Winnie, "Finished eating? Lawrence brought you back?"
Winnie, embarrassed, lowered her head to change her shoes, "Yes. Uncle, have you eaten? Where's Lena?"
"I've eaten. Lena went next door; Mia said Olivia wasn't feeling well."
"Olivia isn't feeling well?" Winnie frowned. She had been resting at the Rodriguez Family's place yesterday and hadn't contacted Olivia. There was nothing unusual when she left work the day before.
She took her sons to bathe, and by the time they finished, it was ten o'clock. Lena had returned and was working in the study. Winnie called Olivia but didn't get through, so she went to ask Lena.
Lena looked up and replied, "Olivia said she's fine, just some stomach pain and nausea. She thinks she might have eaten something bad and told me not to tell you, and to ask you to call her to work together tomorrow."
Winnie was stunned. Stomach pain and nausea from eating something bad? Olivia had always been in good health.
