Chapter 13 Accusing him of being a gangster
Winnie opened the door slightly and looked through it.
Ava walked out with an impatient expression on her face.
The man chased after Ava and said pridefully, “Ava, I was your first man. Now that you’ve found Daniel, you’ve forgotten all about me?”
"What else do you want?" Ava asked irritably.
"When I had money, you didn’t have this attitude. It’s all because I’m now penniless, right? I’ll be direct. Since you’re the new manager of Triton, give me some money.”
Ava quickly handed him a check and said impatiently, “Don’t look for me again!”
“Why are you in such a hurry to leave, darling?” the man said suggestively before he suddenly hugged her, “You’re getting more and more beautiful.”
"Get off me!"
Ava struggled and broke out of his arms, running to the door.
Meanwhile, Winnie, who was still in the closet, had brought her phone out and took a few pictures. She took photos of the room and the moment when the man hugged Ava. Considering how Ava always appeared innocent in front of Daniel, she was certain that Daniel was unaware of Ava’s chaotic private life. With this thought in mind, a cold smile appeared on her face.
At this time, Ava and the man had already left the room, so Winnie put her phone away. Suddenly, she discovered that something was amiss. She turned back as she finally realized that the tall man’s body was pressed against her back.
With this, a series of realizations dawned on her. She finally noticed how small the closet was and how he had been holding her waist since they entered the closet. Not only that, but when she was taking pictures earlier, she had moved back, further pressing against his body.
Winnie felt his scorching temperature and his warm breath. She could also smell his masculine scent.
“Mr. L…”
She turned around to speak, exhaling against his neck.
His Adam’s apple bobbed slightly before he said hoarsely, “Don’t move.”
“Huh?”
Winnie could not hide her embarrassment at all. Her face burned immediately when she looked down. She stiffly stepped back and exited the closet with a bang. Fortunately, there was no one in the room.
After a while, the man finally came out of the closet with a frown on his face. Today, he was dressed casually in a leather jacket. He looked much younger and slightly rebellious compared to when he wore suits.
The man stood in front of her and watched as her eyes darted around. She was blushing and was clearly too embarrassed to look at him. A hint of wickedness could be seen in his dark eyes as he said bluntly, “It’s very normal. Otherwise, how did you think you got pregnant?”
Winnie did not understand why he would bring this matter up. She feigned ignorance and ran out.
The man could not help but smile as he watched her hurrying away.
Winnie stood in the corridor to calm down. Just as the man walked out, he heard her stomach grumbling. He looked at her belly sternly and asked, “Don’t tell me you haven’t eaten all day. Is this how you treat my child?”
Winnie looked at her watch. Seeing that it was already four in the afternoon, she lowered her head sheepishly and said, “I’m sorry, I forgot.”
He frowned and said, “Let’s go and eat first.”
Winnie did not dare to refuse and followed him to the restaurant in Victoria Private Clun.

The tall man carefully ordered food that was nutritious for pregnant women while the manager served him respectfully.
Winnie looked at him and sighed, thinking that it was a pity that she could not see his face under the mask.
When the food was finally served, Winnie asked, “Do you want to have some?”
“I’m not going to rob food from a pregnant woman.”
He had just finished speaking when a suspicious rumbling noise rang out.
Winnie touched her stomach and confirmed that the sound did not come from her. Then, she looked at the tall man in front of her and asked, “You’ve not eaten all day as well?”
When she saw his expression stiffened slightly, she laughed. However, she quickly fell silent when she saw the man glancing at her. Then, she quietly picked up some of the food and placed them in front of him.
As they ate, the dishes kept coming. Winnie also found herself looking at him. He sat across, looking dignified. He ate very elegantly as well. Suddenly, she saw him reached over and placed a bunch of vegetables on her plate. She said with a frown, “Mr. L, I don’t like these.”
”It doesn’t matter if you don’t like them,” he said with a straight face, “The baby likes it.”
The corners of Winnie’s lips twitched.
‘Are you telling me that an embryo that isn’t even a month old likes to eat vegetables? Fine, I’m just a tool. Who cares what I think?’ Winnie thought to herself as she ate the food on her plate.
Not long after, a woman suddenly walked over and stopped in front of the table and took a picture of the duo. Then, she laughed mockingly and asked, “Oh, Winnie, I didn’t expect you to be able to eat here.”
Winnie looked at the woman coldly.
The woman was Lily White, Ava’s best friend. As the saying went, ‘Birds of a feather flock together’.
Hatred surged in Lily’s eyes as she looked at Winnie. They were classmates in college, but Winnie outshone her. Not only did Winnie win a scholarship, but she was also famous for her beauty. In short, Winnie was far more outstanding than her. To aggravate matters, the person she liked was stolen by Winnie, causing her to be rejected and embarrassed. For all these reasons, she had always held a grudge against Winnie. Now that Winnie had fallen into a miserable situation, how could let the opportunity to humiliate Winnie go?
Lily boldly took a seat and said with a sneer, “Hey, I heard you were kidnapped. Not only that, but I heard your lover is a thug. Is this him?”
Lily glanced at the man, and she could not help but shiver when she saw his cold gaze. She managed to calm down when she saw the leather jacket he was wearing. She sneered and thought to herself, ‘Who would wear a leather jacket in a place like this? There’s no doubt he’s a thug.’
Lily straightened her back and said, “Since h has to wear a mask, he must be very ugly, right?”
Winnie almost spat out the water she drank when she heard this. Then she looked at the man nervously. She saw him set his cutleries down. Worried that Lily would further provoke him, she said, “Lily, I’ll have to ask you to leave.”
"You’re the one who should leave. What’s a penniless person like you and your thug boyfriend here for?” Lily said. Then, a sinister smile appeared on her face as she began to type on her phone.
After a few moments, Winnie’s phone rang. She clicked on the notification and discovered that Lily had sent the photos she had taken earlier to the group chat for their college friends.
Underneath the photos, Lily wrote, “Have a look at the former school beauty dating a thug. I have solid evidence. Who knows how she snuck in here? Everyone, wait for me. I’ll start a livestream now so you can watch her getting thrown out!”
The group chat exploded with messages immediately. Many of them secretly admired her in the past. However, now, they treated her with disgust.
"I heard that she was kidnapped, and I felt a bit sorry for her. However, it seems like she has not learned a lesson."
“Damn, she ended with a thug? I wonder if she’ll be willing to spend a night with me?”
"Lily, can you find out how much she charges? I heard she's pregnant so it shouldn’t be expensive, right? I’ll pay her 10,000. I’m already being very generous!”
It did not take long for Winnie to become the laughingstock. However, her expression remained indifferent.
Lily was unhappy that she failed to get a response from Winnie so leaned over and said with a sneer, “Why are you pretending to be calm? They’re all treating you like trash and bidding for you.”
The man frowned, and the temperature in the surroundings suddenly seemed to drop.
Seeing that he was looking at her, Lily assumed that he was attracted to her. She leaned toward him and said flirtatiously, “Hey, do you know how much this meal costs? Winnie’s broke now. She can’t afford this.”
Then, she boldly held his exposed chin and said, “Your figure is not bad. I’ll treat you to this meal today. Come with me. Although you’re a thug, you can do better than Winnie…”
Lily only wanted to trample on Winnie ruthlessly. It would be great if she could snatch the thug away from Winnie. She could also show off to the others who were watching the live stream.
As though he had just heard a joke, the man said icily, “You want to treat me?”
Winnie raised an eyebrow. Although she did not know much about L, she knew he was quite wealthy.
Seeing that L finally spoke, Lily assumed that he was interested in her. She immediately brought a black card out. Her gaze was mocking as she said, “This is Ava’s black card. Daniel got a black card for her here at Victoria Private Club. I remember you used to come here often in the past, right? Why didn’t Daniel get you a card?”
Winnie’s eyes stung slightly as she looked at the black card. After all, not only did Daniel not get her a card, but he also often forgot about her many times, too busy pleasing clients. How many times did she wait to eat him, going hungry?
Seeing that Winnie’s expression was not right, L narrowed his eyes before he asked Lily, “So you’re going to treat me with this black card?”
