Chapter 411 Winnie Decides to Go to Trento City

"Sidney! I'm changing clothes. How can you video-call me like this?" Her face turned completely red and she couldn't help but weakly shout, "Turn it off quickly!"  Sidney blinked his eyes, not quite understanding. "Why? I'm talking to Daddy."  "He'll see me!" Winnie lowered her voice in irritation and angrily slapped the phone away. "Don't you know there are differences between men and women?" She just wanted to scold this little brat.  "Oh! Is there something that Daddy shouldn't see?" Sidney's small mind was still filled with question marks, oblivious to the differences between men and women.  Winnie's face darkened with embarrassment, wishing she could die on the spot.  As she conversed with her son, the man on the video call remained still. His gaze, piercing and intense, lingered on her, while he delicately lifted a glass of water, causing his Adam's apple to bob with each swallow. "What? Lawrence, what are you still looking at!" Winnie blushed, awkwardly covering her body and grabbing her clothes.  As if suddenly waking up, he awkwardly shifted his gaze and reluctantly looked away, his Adam's apple rolling. "I'm sorry. I didn't see anything."  Not saying the last sentence would have been better. But now that he said it, it seemed like he had seen everything. Annoyed, Winnie stared at the man's captivating side profile and her mind suddenly remembered the dream-like scene from last night.  She stared at the video, gritting her teeth, unable to hold back and blurted, "Lawrence, what happened last night?"  "What do you mean what happened last night?" Lawrence responded.  Suddenly, she tightly grasped the bedsheets. Feeling guilty, the man's ears inexplicably turned red.  She frowned at him, hesitated for a moment but couldn't muster the courage to ask further. She took a breath and said, "You know what, it's nothing."  The man calmed his nerves. He knew he was despicable, taking advantage of her drunkenness to steal a moment of pleasure as a farewell.  The woman quickly put on her clothes, putting an end to this ambiguity.  Sidney received a scolding from his mother and walked out feeling wronged. He saw his father taking medicine and asked with concern, "Daddy, what's wrong with you? Why are you taking medicine?"  Winnie's face turned cold as she walked out, hesitating on her way to the kitchen when she heard Sidney asking Lawrence.  The man self-derisively said, "It's nothing, just alcohol poisoning. I'll be fine in a few days."  "Why did you get alcohol poisoning? You called me at this hour, I assume you're busy? Are the Rodriguez family treating you well?" Sidney continued to probe with a grown-up demeanor.

Lawrence smiled and replied, "Mind your own business." His tone became a bit serious as he addressed Winnie, "Is Winnie coming back so late because she's busy dating? But don't neglect your son. If I find out he's being neglected, I'll take him away immediately!"  Winnie's face instantly turned sour as she couldn't bear it any longer and snatched away the phone while angrily saying, "Rest assured, dating won't interfere with me doting on my son!"  Lawrence paused, merely testing her, yet she actually admitted it. So, it appeared she was indeed dating Rock. With a cold expression, the man sneered and ended the video call.  Winnie also set her phone on the table, anger simmering within her. With tasks awaiting her that day, she couldn't afford distractions. Yet, Lawrence seemed oblivious, as if he were blind. With Oscar missing, she pondered how Lawrence could entertain the notion that she'd be in the mood for dating Rock. It appeared he couldn't grasp the hurtful words he had coerced her to say that day. Even if he couldn't hear them, well, that day she wasn't wrong. It was him who didn't love Oscar and went on dates with little girls.  Winnie suppressed the slight turmoil caused by Ava's snitching and went to the kitchen to prepare dinner.  After the mother and son finished eating, she washed Sidney and tucked him into bed. The little one quickly fell asleep.  Winnie went to the study to handle some work but when the room fell silent in the moonlight, she suddenly heard Sidney crying from the bedroom.  "Sidney?" Winnie put down the files and hurriedly ran over.  On the bed, Sidney's small body was covered in cold sweat and his little hand anxiously covered his eyes. "Oscar... Mommy, I dreamed about Oscar just now!"  Winnie froze for a moment, tears welled up in her eyes. She walked over, held Sidney in her arms and kissed his forehead. "Relax, take a deep breath. Sidney, you must be missing Oscar too much."  "No, this is the first time I dreamed of Oscar since the incident. He gave me a strong message." Sidney looked up with teary eyes. "Mommy, I dreamt that he was locked in a dark house. Far away from me. He wanted to write something for me, but I couldn't see clearly. I felt like it was a place somewhere... in the east." Sidney paused, gasping deeply, then suddenly grabbed her by the sleeve. "I think there's a unique bond between us as twins! Oscar is definitely still alive!" "Really, Winnie?" Carlos exclaimed, a sense of rediscovered joy washing over him. "When are you coming back? Dad will personally come to pick you up."  After hanging up Carlos's call, Winnie had a sudden and surreal feeling. Never did she expect that she would be like Lawrence, with a biological father in Trento City, moving from Lymington to Trento City.  For the next two days, Winnie was busy searching for a general manager for Triton. In the midst of it all, she received a call from Sidney, complaining that it had been two days since they last saw each other. He said, "Come to the hospital after work today. Grandma says she really misses you and she has something important to tell you!"  "What does she want to say?" Winnie asked, her lips curving with a touch of bitterness. She missed Madam Rodriguez too.
