Chapter 200 Jealousy
After finishing her errand, Winnie felt slightly relieved and looked at the menu to order. "Mr. Harrington, what would you like to eat?"
"Call me Rock, alright?" His warm and gentle voice came through.
Winnie was startled and looked up, meeting his tender black eyes. She helplessly said, "Rock, let me treat you to a meal."
Rock grabbed her sleeve and sighed deeply.
"Returning to our previous discussion, Winnie, you've been going to the hospital repeatedly. This child is bound to be in danger. You can't continue to tolerate his torment. I hope you seriously consider your and the child's future. Every word I've said is true. I'm waiting for you and I want to pursue you, regardless of whether you are pregnant or not, as long as you are willing to give me a chance..."
"What chance do I give you? The chance to seduce someone else's wife?" A scornful voice interrupted.
The sound came as Lawrence R stood tall in front of the table, casting a shadow over Winnie. She looked up abruptly as the man kicked a chair out of place and seated himself arrogantly.
With a smug smile, he stared at Rock, exuding a natural, dominant aura. Though the two men were evenly matched in looks and presence, the attention of the surrounding women remained on Lawrence R.
Rock was not embarrassed by the mockery; he maintained a composed demeanor and smiled. "Mr. L, there are plenty of empty tables nearby. Why squeeze in with us?" he said.
"Us?" Lawrence R chuckled. "The bitch couple, is it?" Rock gave Winnie a calming glance and replied with a light-hearted tone,
"Mr. L, there's no need to be aggressive. Since you've already moved on, let Winnie go. The other day, Miss Ordelia was by your side, and seemed to be a perfect match for you!"
Rock continued with his sarcastic reply, "As far as I know, you're getting engaged to Miss Ordelia at the end of the month, aren't you?"
Lawrence R gazed at Winnie, laughing. "Did you eagerly tell your new lover about this news?"
"Lawrence R, don't speak that way” Winnie took a deep breath and explained, suppressing her frustration. "There's nothing between Mr. Harrington and I."
"Wearing his shirt, the other night, and now going on a date before the divorce is even final. Can you be any more hypocritical?" Lawrence R sneered at Winnie. She closed her eyes tightly, feeling utterly powerless.
"Mr. L, it was at the summit that you didn't care about her, and she had a urinary tract infection, so she had no choice but to change into a new shirt! Also, she didn't tell me anything. I just heard that you two were getting divorced soon, so I planned to pursue her and gather information," Rock explained with a hint of coldness.
Urinary tract infection? Lawrence R's eyes flashed dangerously, trying to process this information.
Rock had stumbled upon such a private matter of hers? The veins on his forehead became visible as he glared at Winnie with a chilling intensity. She had no idea why his gaze had turned so terrifying.
Suddenly, Winnie was pulled up by the man and was forcibly taken away from her seat, crashing into his cold embrace. He held her chin tightly.
Rock's expression immediately changed, and he also held Winnie's other hand, his gaze turning dangerous. "Mr. L, what are you trying to do?"
"I want to be intimate with my woman. What's it to you?" Lawrence R snapped.
"Mr. Harrington wants to pursue her? She's not even divorced yet, so you can only watch me do what I want to do," Lawrence retorted, asserting his dominance over the situation.
Without another word, Lawrence R lowered his head and captured Winnie's lips, kissing her deeply.
"... " Winnie froze, desperately trying to avoid it. "Lawrence R!... Please don't..."
Winnie's voice echoed, catching the attention of many people around them. She felt extremely embarrassed being pinned against the table by him, and with her continuous resistance and frequent glances towards Rock, the situation intensified.
Lawrence R grew furious, biting her lips angrily and muttered, "You better concentrate. Until the day of the divorce, you are mine!"
"Lawrence R... that's enough! I won't stoop down to participate in this ridiculous act with you..." Winnie said pulling away.
Winnie stared at his attractive lip line, thinking that he might have kissed or cuddled Darcy at the hospital or while they were in the dark cinema. She resisted strongly.
The more she resisted, the more Lawrence R could see her concern for Rock's opinion. Lawrence R wrapped his arms around her waist and held her tightly against him.
"Mr. L, show some respect for her in front of everyone!" Rock rarely got angry, but his eyes were filled with fury.
Seeing the trembling woman in his arms, Lawrence R cursed under his breath and let go of her. He wiped the swollen corner of Winnie's mouth in front of Rock, the gesture teasingly ambiguous, "Mr. Harrington, did you see that? This is a woman I've been with, and you can't have her even if you like."
Winnie couldn't believe he could say such hurtful words. Tears glistened in her eyes as Rock frowned and told her, "Winnie, come with me!"
Winnie thought of turning around, but Lawrence R's eyes turned cold, warning her, "Don't forget about your cousin; I haven't let her go yet." She stood still, staring at him blankly.
Lawrence R pulled her out of the store, and Luke skillfully brought the car over. The man lifted the woman and put her into the car. Rock chased after them, watching the Bentley drive away, and he punched the pillar hard.
He had never been so furious in his life. Simply because she was someone else's wife! He couldn't take her away. A hint of cruelty flashed through Rock's gentle eyes. It was time to bring out something.
He turned around and made a phone call. Darcy had been waiting at the cinema for half an hour. Mr. L went to the bathroom and never came back! Her face went from anticipation to gloom, realizing that something was wrong.
She immediately called Barbara, who said, "Mr. L left the cinema after being seduced by that bitch and hasn't returned."
"..." Darcy's gaze turned cold.
Her highly anticipated Valentine's Day was ruined by Mr. L's absence! Why was it that bitch Winnie again? She was always trying to seduce Mr. L and couldn't let go! She called Lawrence R twice, but he didn't pick up.
Darcy got so angry that she smashed the popcorn. Barbara angrily rushed in and said, "Miss. Darcy, Luke drove the car away. Did Mr. L leave you behind and go home?"
Darcy turned her head and looked at Barbara. She slapped her across the face. "How could Mr. L leave me behind? Shut up if you have nothing useful to say!"
Barbara covered her face tightly and dared not cry. In the Bentley, Winnie tightly held her stomach in fear as the car sped. The atmosphere inside was tense. She tried to speak, "Can you please drive slower?"
"You better not speak," Lawrence R tightly gripped the steering wheel. Winnie looked at his arm, the veins bulging, and her eyes widened in surprise. She felt...
Her emotions were not quite right, it must be the pregnancy hormones she thought... She fell silent.
Finally, they arrived at the villa after much difficulty. Before she could even attempt to get out of the car, Lawrence R grabbed her fiercely pulling her out of the car and walked directly into an unoccupied guest room on the first floor of the villa.
He did not turn on the lights, seemingly enjoying the darkness. Winnie found herself pressed against the door by his strong arms and his cold, hard embrace.
In the darkness, the man's gaze was dangerous and irrational.
She dared not look at him and took out a pill from her pocket, handing it over indifferently, "If you can't calm down, take it." Winnie defended.
"Huh." He threw the pill out of the window, his chest heaving with anger. "The reason I can't calm down, isn't it because of you?" Lawrence continued to vent his anger on Winnie.
"As long as you're here, my condition won't improve! Winnie, it's all because of you—"
His voice was hoarse as he dragged her into the bathroom, glancing at the hand that Rock had touched. He pulled her under the showerhead, turning on the hot water faucet.
"Ah, have you gone mad?" The hot water made Winnie unable to open her eyes, and she trembled from the scalding sensation.
The tall and sturdy man in front of her rudely held her hand and unbuttoned her clothes.
His wet and muscular body pressed against her, and he shouted,
"I am mad, for letting myself be deceived by your fake sympathy time and time again, I'm like a fool!"
