Chapter 124 Deceiving Her

Winnie arched her eyebrow and inquired, "Mr. Martin?"

His tone was cold, "Do you have time to talk in person?"

Winnie hesitated for a moment before abruptly standing up and walking over to the window. Indeed, outside the villa was a luxurious car with its headlights flashing.

This Mr. Martin seemed to be friends with L, but she didn't know him. What could they talk about?

The man seemed assertive, making Winnie somewhat cautious. She wanted to call L but felt that it would make her appear overly cautious.

Finally, she confided in Olivia before changing clothes and heading downstairs. Ray took her away, glancing at her with disdain. Witnessing his gaze, Winnie anticipated that this meeting wouldn't bring good news.
Combined with Laura mentioning his affection for Darcy, and the current atmosphere in the car, Winnie's impression of this man had soured.

Ray brought her to a coffee shop. Once they were seated, the bright lights allowed Winnie to appraise this handsome man briefly.

He was tall, almost on par with L. Unlike L's composure and elegance, this man exuded a certain dangerous charm, distinct from his brother Benjamin's playfulness. It was evident that he was a risky sort of personality.

As he tucked his hands into his pockets, he bluntly questioned, "Miss Anderson, a woman should have basic morals and conscience. Why did you bully Darcy?"

Winnie was taken aback but eventually smiled. She had a rough idea of what he was going to say next.

"Did Miss Ordelia complain to Mr. Martin?" Winnie clasped her hands together. "You seem to be protective of Miss Ordelia."

"That's none of your business." Ray's impression of Winnie had taken a sharp decline.

"You've already won over L. Even though it's just for a year, it's already impressive for a woman of ordinary background like you to marry him. Do you know who Darcy is to L? What gives you the right to frame her?"

"Frame her? Mr. Martin, please ask L about her actions today first." Winnie defended.
“In fact, today’s incident clearly shows her intentions. She wants to harm my child, and I can't fight back?"

"L was deceived by you, of course he believes you! You and Laura are friends, right? You teamed up to harm Darcy and bully her." Ray responded abruptly.

Ray's gaze was extremely cold. Winnie blinked, understanding a bit while trying to suppress a smile. She suddenly realized why Laura was so upset after returning to the country.

She wasn't like this before, there was a coldness in her eyes. So, Ray protected Darcy so fiercely. He didn't love Laura, he even disliked her. Winnie also admired Darcy, who had someone she loved but didn't let go of Ray, playing him around.

Winnie attempted to explain, "Darcy did many things to try to cause a miscarriage of the child in my belly..."

Ray bluntly interrupted, "That's what you deserved. Everyone knows that you climbed into L's car with ulterior motives, Miss Anderson. Do you know that Darcy is L's legitimate fiancée? Their engagement was arranged by their families years ago. It's not her fault if she doesn't want your child!"

Winnie was suddenly confused. What? Fiancée?

Seeing the change in her expression, urged Ray to continue as he was still very angry. "Do you think ignorance is innocence? Darcy fell in love with L when she was just a teenager. She silently stayed by his side for so many years, but he never realized her feelings.”

“But if it weren't for you being his mistress, they would eventually get married. Do you know that Darcy learned jewelry design and complex company operations for L? She spent all these years by his side, and you ruined their relationship!" Ray continued.

"I heard you still want to cling onto L? Well Don’t! In a year, L will have to marry Darcy. You, a woman who is having his child, should give up your delusional thoughts early on. They are the rightful couple!"

After Ray finished speaking, Winnie fell silent. Her heart sank to the bottom. Her face turned pale. Darcy turned out to be his fiancée, bound by an engagement. Why did L deceive her?

He deceived her and made her look like a fool. Ray pointed at her and cursed her, saying she was a mistress. Was that really true...

Winnie couldn't remember how she left the café, but she didn't go back to the villa, but went straight to Olivia's house. This blow was too much for her, she couldn't accept it for a moment, nor did she want to face L.

Ray also coldly watched the woman wander away without any expression. Only when he stood up did he make a phone call, with a slightly softer tone,

"Darcy, don't be saddened. I've talked to Winnie and it seems she truly didn't know your identity. But now that she knows, she will definitely be ashamed!"

Darcy was uneasy, "Ray, why are you so impulsive? By doing this, you might offend Mr. L... I'm worried..."

"I've had my fair share of conflicts with him, haven't I?" Ray didn't care, "Just rest early."
Darcy pretended to care and hung up the phone, sneering.

Now that Winnie knew her identity, Darcy was confident that she would use Winnie as a stepping stone to become Lymington's top debutante.

Winnie's pride won't allow her to entangle with L as his mistress anymore. They will definitely have conflicts so that she can have a chance to appear in L’s life again.
Ray has helped her greatly! Darcy slept well that night with this thought.

At midnight, L finished work and returned to the villa, only to find it empty. Winnie was not in his bedroom. With half of his tie removed and a stern look on his face, L dialed Winnie’s number, but she didn't answer.

She was well-behaved in the afternoon, he thought. For some reason, L had a bad premonition in his heart. He walked downstairs with long strides and immediately ordered Luke, "Drive."

He now knew exactly where to find her. Twenty minutes later, the Bentley arrived at Olivia's apartment.

In the deep winter night, a cold man in a black coat knocked on Olivia's door. Naturally, Olivia came to open the door, but she didn't look pleasant. "Mr. L, what are you here for?"

"Is Winnie here? What's wrong with her again?" L said in an abrupt manner indicating he was also angry. This type of response indicated to Olivia that this man had no idea what had happened.

Olivia rolled her eyes directly, Feeling oppressed by his presence, Olivia reluctantly called out to Winnie inside the apartment, "Winnie... He's here. Don't hold back and say what you want to say!"

Winnie came out, L’s handsome face stared at her coldly. He immediately reached out to embrace her waist, wanting to take her away, but Winnie avoided him. He lowered his head and suddenly noticed that her eyes were red.

"What's wrong with you?" L furrowed his thick eyebrows at the sight of her saddened eyes.

Upon hearing this, Winnie couldn't help but raise her head and deeply look at this man standing under the door light, his eyes were deep and impenetrable!

Indeed, she didn't even know his true identity, so how could she see through him?
So, based on her trust, how could he deceive her all along? And in-front of everyone.

Winnie stared straight at him and spoke frankly, "Darcy is your fiancée. When I asked you in the afternoon, you were hiding it from me!"
