Chapter 337 As Long as it's Our Son

"What? Sidney's coming to see me?" Winnie was having her meal when her phone rang multiple times. Reluctantly, she went to the terrace to answer it and received the shocking news.

"You don't want to see him?" A deep and icy voice emanated from the other end. Lawrence couldn't believe she had dared to hang up on him twice. He started to wonder if he was that unwelcome or if she was simply too eager to have dinner with Rock. The mention of Rock's name twice in one day annoyed Lawrence. He tugged at his tie with his fingers, stating, "If you don't want to, then forget it."

"I want to meet Sidney! Where is our child?"

"In my car."

Winnie's face sank and she replied unhappily, "What? You're coming too?"

Lawrence's face twitched at her response. He couldn't believe the disrespectful tone that came from her. "Do you think I want to come? I mean, can a three-year-old child drive? If he didn't insist, I wouldn't be here. So, you have ten minutes to show up at your doorstep." He then abruptly hung up.

Listening to his arrogant tone, Winnie felt like crushing this man under her foot.

Meanwhile, in the car, Sidney sat coldly in the back seat, looking at his father's impassive expression. He felt completely speechless after listening to his parents' conversation.

Sidney didn't feel like talking to his father and lowered his head to message Oscar.

On the other side, Winnie panicked. Lawrence was coming so she had to hide Oscar. Luckily, the reunion dinner was also over and Rock drove them back to the apartment.

Winnie called for a stop at the intersection and turned apologetically to Rock. "Rock, sorry but I can't invite you up to my place. Sidney is coming to see me and Lawrence is bringing him. I have to make some preparations."

Rock tightened his grip on the steering wheel, a hint of coldness flashing in his eyes upon hearing this. The situation he was worried about had finally happened. But he could only smile calmly and replied, "All right then. If Lawrence gives you a hard time, remember to give me a call."

Winnie nodded and got out of the car. Hastily, she took the apartment elevator. Thankfully, she had already bought the neighboring unit to accommodate her uncle and Lena. Winnie hurriedly brought Oscar in and hid him inside.

Suddenly, her phone rang, displaying Lawrence's number. She grimaced, knowing they had arrived. In a rush, she ran downstairs, took a deep breath, and felt somewhat happy to see Sidney. As soon as she reached the ground floor, she saw the two of them were waiting by the flower bed.

Standing at nearly 1.9 meters tall, Lawrence was an impressive figure. Beside him, Sidney appeared like a miniature version, exuding utter adorableness. Clad in a white shirt and black trousers, his long legs impeccably straight, his silhouette radiated charm under the subdued lighting. Tension filled his back, visible beneath the shirt, and his open collar revealed a tantalizing hint of his collarbone, adding to his mature and alluring charm.

However, as he turned around, his demeanor was cold. His black eyes stared at her for a few seconds in disapproval. "Why did you take so long?"

Winnie rolled her eyes covertly before completely ignoring him and turned directly to Sidney with a gentle smile. "Sweetie, would you like to go upstairs with mommy?"

"Okay, Mommy! I've been waiting for you in the rain and has gotten slightly wet," Sidney said as he embraced Winnie's thigh.

Seeing the woman disregarding him, Lawrence spoke to Sidney, "Sidney, do you want to go upstairs?"

With a disdainful glance at his father, Sidney wordlessly tugged on Winnie's clothes and said, "Daddy got wet too, Mommy."

"Oh, but how come he didn't catch a cold?" Winnie chuckled. "There are no men's clothes in my room, so I can't help him."

Lawrence was infuriated by her previous remark but inexplicably felt better upon hearing her subsequent words. He walked over, lifted his son, and noticed the woman pouting, unable to come to terms with the situation. The man calmly admonished, "Do you want our son to catch a cold?"

Winnie was displeased, but also concerned that Sidney might have caught a cold in the rain, so she reluctantly pressed the button for the 8th floor.

After opening the apartment door, before she could even react, Lawrence tactlessly walked in as if it were his own home, carrying their child to the bathroom. He ordered her, "Go and get two towels."

Winnie placed her hands on her hips, displeased with his commanding demeanor. Initially, she was hoping to spend some alone time with her son. She protested, "Lawrence, do you really need to come to my place to show off your parenting skills? I can handle giving Sidney a bath myself. Please leave."

Lawrence chuckled lightly. "It's as if you can handle it. Have you done any of these things in the past three years?"

"Of course, I have!" Winnie clenched her teeth. It seemed that this jerk had hired a bunch of maids to take care of Sidney while she painstakingly raised her other child, Oscar.

"Oh, so you have," Lawrence replied nonchalantly, as if he didn't want to argue any further.

Seconds ticked by, and Winnie was momentarily stunned by the deep, mature voice of the man.

"Well then, go and get the towels," Lawrence instructed, giving her a stern look. Winnie stomped her foot as she went to her room to fetch fresh towels.

A while later, the man spoke, "Bring him out."

Winnie opened the bathroom door, carried Sidney out, and suddenly realized that she had forgotten to bring his shirt, prompting her to go back inside. The steam-filled bathroom made it difficult for her to see clearly. Although her apartment's bathroom was not spacious, she remembered the arrangement quite well. Following the direction of the clothes rack, she reached out her hands, trying to feel for Sidney's shirt. But instead of touching fabric, her hand felt something scorching hot and solid.

"Ah..." Winnie let out a low exclamation and instinctively pulled her hand back. Embarrassment washed over her as she realized her accidental touch.

Without warning, before she could fully retreat her hand, Lawrence held onto her waist, pressing her against the wall. In that moment, his breath seemed to grow slightly husky. His exhale brushed against the top of her head. "What are you feeling around for?"

As the mist dissipated, Winnie turned her gaze and came across a portrayal of a muscular man, evidently fresh from a bath. He was completely unclothed, his drenched body revealing every well-defined muscle, and even the towel was conspicuously absent. Her mind felt like it was about to explode in an instant. A rush of blood surged to her face. "Lawrence, you pervert! Why are you taking a shower in my house?"

"I got caught in the rain and couldn't take a shower? What were you touching in here? Do you even know where you touched?"
