Chapter 719 She Asked Lawrence for Help

Nelson said, "Ms. Anderson, Olivia has already taken a week off from me. She said she was on some investigation, but didn't spill any deets. Just lugging her laptop and camera around, like she was tailing someone."

"A camera? Tailing someone?" Winnie was shook. "Didn't she text saying she was hunting for Jeremy? Could it be she's been up to something totally unrelated to Jeremy? So where the heck did she vanish to? What's the deal here?"

Winnie was getting all jittery. "Nelson, you got Olivia's account info? Can you peep her ride history for the past few days?"

"I got her work account, but no clue if she took any rides. Lemme check, hang tight." Nelson jumped on it right away.

Ten minutes later, she came back looking all puzzled, "Ms. Anderson, Olivia only used this account for one ride, from Dazzling Estate to The Midnight Lounge Club."

"The Midnight Lounge Club?" Winnie had no clue about the clubs in Trento City.

'But why would Olivia, a chick, hit up a club, a spot where dudes usually go to party? Wait, a camera, tailing someone? She went to the club 'cause she was following someone, right? The real question is, who the heck is she following?' Winnie wondered.

Why didn't Olivia loop her in on this? They usually shared everything.

Winnie rubbed her forehead, and a memory hit her. A few days ago, Olivia had mentioned something about Rock and told her to hang tight for a few days. Back then, Winnie had no clue what she was waiting for.

Could it be that Olivia was digging into Rock?

'Is Olivia investigating Rock?' Winnie was shook by the thought, but Bentley had said Rock was cool. What was Olivia really digging into? And why'd she bounce?

Winnie took a sip of water and scribbled Rock's name on a piece of paper.

She waited for half an hour and then called Rock, "Rock, I'm in a bit of a jam. Did you find out the factory's address?"

A woman's voice came, "Sorry, Ms. Anderson, this is Sierra. Mr. Harrington had an urgent meeting pop up, and it'll probably go till 3 PM. He told me to help you out in any way, and he also wanted me to say he's sorry he couldn't find the factory's location. Once Mr. Harrington's done, he'll dig into it more."

Sierra's businesslike tone had a sweet edge that made Winnie super uncomfortable.

She frowned, feeling like Rock was dodging the issue.

With his skills, finding a factory shouldn't be a big deal. And conveniently, he had a meeting.

"Okay." She hung up, calmed herself, and scrolled through her contacts, stopping at an unnamed number.

She really didn't wanna hit up Lawrence.

But things had changed. He definitely knew the factory's location.

Winnie took a deep breath and dialed the number.

Almost instantly, the call was picked up,

Lawrence's deep voice echoed in the empty office, "Winnie, what made you think of calling me?"

Lawrence sounded a bit surprised.

Winnie looked down, frustrated, no time for small talk, she said, "Lawrence, do you know where the factory is?

"Olivia left three days ago, saying she had a new lead and was gonna find Jeremy."

"Now I'm not even sure if she went to the factory. I wanna check it out myself." Winnie said.

"Olivia went to the seaside factory?" Lawrence's tone was surprised.

"I don't know. But I had Bryan and his team sniffing around the factory for clues. If Olivia had gone, she would've bumped into Bryan, but Bryan hasn't mentioned anything." Lawrence said.

Winnie's heart sank.

Lawrence said soothingly, "Don't stress, I'll hit up Bryan to confirm. If they saw Olivia, they'd have told me."

"Alright, call me back." Winnie clutched her phone, waiting.

Two minutes later, Lawrence's voice came through, "Winnie, I can confirm Olivia didn't go to the factory. First off, if she had a new lead, she wouldn't have kept it from Bryan 'cause we're all in this Jeremy hunt together. Second, no one saw her around there."

Winnie's heart plummeted.

"So, Olivia's actually missing?" Winnie asked, her voice shaky.

Lawrence, picking up on her quickened breathing, asked, "When?"

"Three days ago," Winnie replied.

"Did she say anything before she left?" Lawrence asked.

"She texted, saying she was heading to the factory to look for Jeremy again, and that the signal by the sea was bad, so I didn't think much of it when I couldn't reach her. This morning, her phone was off. It's my fault for not noticing the text was off," Winnie sobbed.

Lawrence squinted, put down his pen, and stood up, "Don't worry, Winnie. It's been over three days, so we can report her as missing."

"I'll come pick you up, and we'll go to the police station to file a report and see what's up." Lawrence added.

The word 'missing' made Winnie anxious, but Lawrence's deep, comforting voice kept her from breaking down. She didn't refuse, "Okay."

Ten minutes later, Lawrence pulled up to the Blanchet Family's building.

Winnie scurried out quickly. Lawrence, dressed in a simple suit, leaned against the car, one hand in his pocket, the other holding a cigarette, occasionally taking a puff. His mature and somewhat rebellious vibe exuded the charm of a seasoned man.

His long legs were slightly bent, making him look exceptionally elegant and noble.

Several female employees were secretly watching at the Blanchet Family entrance. As Winnie passed by, she heard them whispering.

"Oh my God, who is that? He's so handsome!"

"Even though he's driving a mid-range car like a Land Rover, he makes it look so commanding."

"Especially when he's smoking, he looks so deep and brooding. So attractive!"

"Wait, why is Ms. Blanchet walking towards him?"

"Even though Ms. Blanchet's husband is Mr. Harrington, Mr. Harrington's looks can't compare to this guy. Could this be Ms. Blanchet's ex-husband, Mr. Rodriguez?"

"It seems like it is him. Wow, even though the Rodriguez Family has fallen, he's still so charming."

Winnie remained silent.

She couldn't help but glare at the group of employees, who then quickly retreated into the building.

"Lawrence." Winnie greeted.

From a distance, Lawrence didn't hear the others' infatuation. Seeing Winnie approach, he stubbed out his cigarette and, in a suave move, tossed it into a trash can. "Let's go."

Winnie glanced at him, got into the car, and looked out the window.

They soon arrived at the police station, where an officer was already waiting, "Mr. Rodriguez."

"He's an old acquaintance of the Rodriguez Family." Lawrence briefly introduced. He wasn't someone who could easily get the police chief to come out.

Winnie looked at him gratefully, "Thanks for setting this up."

"Let's go in. You can tell them about Olivia in detail." Lawrence stood on her right side, his large hand habitually shielding her from the crowd.

Hearing that Winnie was going to file a report, Rock hurried to the police station and immediately saw them. They looked so well-matched.

His gentle eyes were filled with coldness, and Rock called out in frustration, "Winnie! Why are you with him?"
