Chapter 703 Olivia Meets Jeremy
Lawrence couldn't believe it and just brushed it off. "Bob, I think I just hit someone who looks like the chairman of NexaCore Group. Never seen him before. Gonna find out who recently bought a place on Camellia Mount."
Bob nodded, looking pissed. "It's bad news that Anday found out Ronnie's also digging into NexaCore Group. They probably wanna steal the deal from us! Lawrence, the Rodriguez Group can't even compete with the worst companies now, let alone the Peterson Group. If you're gonna check out the chairman of NexaCore Group, do it fast."
Lawrence's eyes went cold. "I'll put the money from selling the Rodriguez estate into finance and real estate. If we need a real estate partner, Bentley's my first pick. I'll go see him this afternoon."
Bob asked, worried, "Will Bentley help us? The Jenkins Family is the second-ranked family."
Lawrence smirked, "Does the Jenkins family bow down to the Peterson family just 'cause they're ranked second? Bentley's always been watching. He hates guys like Ronnie."
Bob looked at Lawrence. "You're a master at mind games. This is the Lawrence I know. You're back. No matter how tough it gets, we gotta support the Rodriguez Group. Go for it! I remember Bentley. He took over the Jenkins Group young. He's no pushover. Don't be fooled by his nice guy act. Convincing him won't be easy."
Lawrence said confidently, "Everyone's got a weak spot or something they want."
"By the way, still looking for Jeremy?" Bob suddenly asked.
"Of course," Lawrence pressed his lips together. "I don't believe he's dead. Bryan's got all my people on it."
"Don't forget Mars sued you. You can only win if you find him," Bob reminded.
Lawrence's eyes were icy. "I won't let Mars win."
Olivia felt her stomach churn. Her head hurt, and her throat was blocked, making it hard to breathe.
Instinctively, she turned over and puked.
It wasn't until a bunch of seawater came out of her mouth and nose that she weakly opened her eyes.
Holding her stomach, she took deep breaths, her lips pale. "Where... where am I? Am I not in the sea anymore?" she said weakly.
"If you were still in the sea, you'd be dead by now," a rough male voice said nearby.
The voice turned to someone else. "She's not dead. She spat out the water herself. Should we tell the young master? He insisted on saving her."
'Young master? Who's that?' Olivia thought as her vision cleared a bit, and she finally made out her surroundings.
Her body was swaying like she was in a cabin.
Right, there was the cruise ship, and Jeremy!
She clearly remembered the guy who jumped into the sea to save her, his strong arms, and the gold-rimmed glasses he wore, which was Jeremy's signature look!
"Jeremy? He saved me, didn't he? I remember. I'm sure it was him." Olivia murmured, tears of excitement welling up, her heart trembling. She thought, 'Jeremy isn't dead. Otherwise, how could I have seen him save me?'
She quickly rolled off the bed and crawled to the man in front of her. "Sir, where's Jeremy? I need to see him!"
"Jeremy? There's no one named Jeremy here," the sailor frowned and pushed her away. "You must have been out of your mind in the water."
Olivia was stunned. "Then who saved me?"
"The young master," the sailor replied.
Olivia's eyes moved sluggishly. "Then I want to see your young master!"
"The young master saved you, but he didn't say he wanted to see you. He saved you and left you aside. Doesn't seem like he knows you. You got no right to see him."
"I know him. I've been looking for him for a long time," Olivia insisted.
At the door, another sailor with a fierce look said, "Stop wasting time with her! The master is coming back from Trento City. He went to NexaCore Group, and he heard the young master saved a woman. The master is very worried about his condition. He told us to lock this woman up in case she's up to no good."
"Master?" Olivia was confused, thinking, 'Where am I? And who is this master? Is Jeremy the young master they're talking about?'
She got anxious and tried to struggle, but they immediately restrained her. In her panic, she choked on water and passed out.
"She's fainted again and isn't breathing!" The sailor checked and said helplessly, "Should we notify the young master now?"
The sailor at the door turned and walked out, frustrated.
When Olivia woke up again, she saw a beam of bright light.
The bed beneath her was soft and comfy.
She opened her eyes suddenly and said, "Jeremy."
Not far from the folding screen stood two figures.
A middle-aged man frowned, looking sharply at Olivia on the bed, and asked the young man opposite him, "Alvin, do you know her?"
"No." The young man said calmly.
When the familiar voice came, Olivia almost stopped breathing.
It was Jeremy. She knew and remembered his deep and magnetic voice. He always spoke calmly, unlike Lawrence, who was cold.
"Jeremy," Olivia shot up and hurried out.
"Then if you don't know her, why did you save her?" Loren DeRoss asked, concerned but stern.
Alvin couldn't answer. He frowned, and behind his glasses, a complex emotion flashed in his eyes.
Loren voiced, "What if she's a scheming woman? What if she fell into the sea on purpose to make you save her? Alvin, you are just out of danger. I managed to save you. Before you see your mother, don't cause any more trouble for me!"
Olivia's mind was in chaos, but she couldn't think too much. She rushed out from behind the folding screen.
She grabbed Alvin's arm and pulled him over.
Alvin turned around, caught off guard, frowning and looking at her coldly. A cute and pretty face came into view.
She wasn't particularly stunning, but he felt his heart race, with a sense of familiarity. However, he didn't seem to remember her.
"Jeremy? It's really you." Olivia was overjoyed, tears streaming down her face. She jumped onto Alvin, hugging him like an octopus. "Do you know how worried we were about you? So you were hiding here. Where is here? Why didn't you contact Lawrence? He feels so guilty, thinking he caused your death. And Mia, she cried for so long. You heartless jerk."
She hit him, but slowly realized something was wrong. Alvin wasn't responding.
Olivia looked up and saw confusion in his eyes. His naturally warm eyes were now cold and indifferent, looking at her with unfamiliarity and disdain.
