Chapter 916 I Don't Like Olivia

So, he changed his mind. "I don't like Olivia. She's not worth it. Who I marry is my business."

"But you can't marry Lynn! Listen to me, Jeremy. Lynn did something unforgivable to Olivia. If you marry that scheming Lynn, I won't forgive you!

And Olivia's dad is in jail now. He was framed; he didn't commit murder... I've been to every police station and courthouse in Lymington, but the victim's family won't let it go. They want to prosecute Mr. Smith.

Mr. Smith has a heart condition. He can't be held for long; his life is at risk!

You're the only one who can help. You have deep connections in Lymington. If you speak up, the police will release Mr. Smith early. He's in danger, I'm not kidding!"

'What?'

'Jake's been thrown in jail?'

Jeremy froze. He recalled Olivia's pale face outside the hospital room earlier. She did seem completely unhinged.

He lowered his eyes. He hadn't known about this. He'd been drinking himself into oblivion these past few days, completely unaware of what was happening in Lymington.

But Lynn had said Jake got into legal trouble due to poor management, didn't he?

Did that lead to a murder case?

His brows furrowed coldly. "You want me to save Olivia's dad? Do you know what Olivia said about me to Lynn in the hospital room?

She said I was a man she was tired of, a pawn to get back at Lynn.

Winnie, why do you think I'd help Olivia save her no-good dad?"

Winnie wasn't there and didn't know the context, so she didn't understand why Olivia said that.

"But that can't be what she really thinks, Jeremy. Actually, Olivia likes—"

"I don't want to hear it! And there's something even more disgusting," Jeremy closed his bloodshot eyes. He couldn't bring himself to talk about what happened between him and Olivia. His lips pressed into a cold line. "I've been arrogant for years, and this is the first time a woman has played me like this. The fact that I didn't kill her is already a huge mercy. Do you think I'd care about her family's mess?

Oh, and tell Sam to handle it. You probably don't know, but your vain friend is planning to marry Sam with her daughter and unborn child!

Tell her that if she dares to marry Sam and get in my way, I'll make her life in the DeRoss family a living hell!"

Jeremy's anger flared, and he was about to hang up.

Winnie interrupted, frowning. "I don't care how big your misunderstanding is. She didn't want to marry Sam.

Jeremy, don't you get it? Olivia's dad was framed by Sam, with Lynn's help! You say you want to marry Lynn, but that's just breaking Olivia's heart. You idiot, do you even know how much Olivia has suffered because of you..."

Jeremy's brows furrowed.

Wasn't she willing? Didn't she want to marry into the wealthy DeRoss family because Jake got into legal trouble, and Sam helped?

Winnie was her friend. She was so cunning. Could Winnie be telling the truth?

Or was Lynn lying?

His thoughts were in turmoil, but he no longer believed in Olivia's innocence. That liar had deceived his feelings and played with his pride. He wouldn't forgive her.

Jeremy said nothing and coldly hung up the phone.

"Jeremy? Hello, Jeremy! ...You bastard." Winnie didn't expect him not to believe her and hang up so decisively.

She thought it over. Only Jeremy could get Jake released. Olivia said he was poisoned; this couldn't wait.

But she hadn't expected Jeremy's hatred for Olivia to run so deep.

Lynn must have had a hand in this. That bitch tried to kill herself, why didn't she succeed!

Winnie gripped her phone, her face icy. She squinted at the hospital lobby, then turned to go inside and confront Lynn. Just then, her phone rang again.

She saw the caller ID, a local Lymington number. Winnie paused and stepped aside to answer. "Ian, did you find out what I asked?"

"Yes, Ms. Anderson. After thoroughly investigating Lynn's activities six months ago, I found she visited several private paternity testing clinics. Shortly after, she contacted Sam.

Then, Sam went to Olivia's house and used a paternity test to threaten Olivia into giving up her child.

I'm certain Sam himself didn't visit any testing clinics during that time.

And I gathered some evidence that Lynn conspired with the testing clinics to falsify the results."

Winnie looked out at the drizzling rain, her eyes half-closed. She gripped her phone, unsurprised. "You did well, Ian. Send the evidence to my email."

"Yes, Ms. Anderson."

With evidence proving Sam's paternity test was faked by Lynn, it meant Mia wasn't Sam's biological child.

Winnie's eyes lit up with a small spark of excitement.

Mia looked so much like the DeRoss family. If she wasn't Sam's, whose daughter could she be?

Thinking of Jeremy's tone earlier, she got angry. That idiot didn't know he had a child with Olivia and hurt her again three years later.

Marrying Lynn? He might as well die.

Winnie cursed inwardly. She didn't want to deal with Lynn's trouble anymore. She left the hospital and immediately called Ray in Trento City. "Mr. Martin, it's urgent. Can you bring Mia back to Lymington tonight?"

"What's going on in Lymington? I heard Olivia rushed back yesterday morning."

"Her dad's in trouble. But I need you to take Mia to Jeremy. He won't help Olivia. Maybe Mia can persuade him."

Winnie's tone grew colder.

Ray rubbed his nose, thinking of Olivia pregnant with Jeremy's child. He couldn't help but curse. "That idiot, not helping Olivia's father. Is he blind?"

"Exactly. If you can, knock some sense into him, Mr. Martin."

Winnie said coldly.

Ray agreed. "I'll pick up Mia and catch a flight tonight."

After hanging up, Winnie called Lena to find Mia next door. The phone quickly reached Mia's small hands. Unaware, Mia asked seriously, "Ms. Anderson, Ms. Granger said you needed me? What's up? Did you see my mommy?"

"I did, Mia. Listen, Mr. Martin will take you back to Lymington soon to reunite with your mommy.

But first, you need to find Mr. DeRoss. I need you to do me a favor, Mia."

"See Jeremy? Yay! What do you need me to do?"

Winnie squinted and whispered, "I need you to pull out a few of Jeremy's hairs and bring them back to me."
